    Great work but .. why would you ruin such a great guitar to begin with? The pre-historic is becoming a classic. The owner now has a generic looking LP that has less character and less value. Odd choice of donor!

    Great job, looks much better, especially near the rhythm treble switch where the flame is a bit iffy. Mine is also very sticky, it's actually painful to play in summer or for extended periods, I tried talc and rubbing with course paper but usually resort to lightly sanding it which lasts a few months

    Dunno man. I think you did amazing job with the refinish. But I think in the case of this guitar, she should have been left alone. I would love to see such refinish on a Les Paul destroyed by some angry teen with spray can... But this one? Was great in original state, a keeper if it plays good.

    I loved that old nitro lemon color it had it was beautiful man never ever redo a real Gibson Les Paul finish that has naturaly aged they look so much better once the nitro has had time to wear off a little bit and start cracking and thinning out to show the true beauty of the wood with the color this was beautiful before you messed it up. But you didn't really mess it up you did an amazing job respraying it but it was still beautiful before as well great job

    decal (seen at 0:42) that pinpoints it after 1993, before that the Les Paul
    Classic had MODEL instead of CLASSIC on the headstock. The serial number 6 4085 (seen at 1:48)
    begins with 6 so that probably a 1996.

    • @vladbelov
      @vladbelov 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Olav Johann Orvik he means that such headstock existed. Gibson even had such special run “stinger” collection in 2000s. They did it not only for Les pauls, but for other models too. For this exact LP it made sense to make stinger for two reasons - first, there was oxidizing on aniline because of old tuners, the second is fetish of course. The stinger will stand this guitar out of million others 59’s.

    • @chrispatrick5715
      @chrispatrick5715 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Спасибо. На ЛП а волюм ставлю 500-520 кОм, в тон 350-440 кОм. В стоке это всо 500 кОм, но по факту каждый потенциометр имеет погрешность и их нужно мерить

    Acetone melts binding and plastic. You got lucky. Nice job though.

    Enjoyed your video. My compliments on a great job. One quick question though, how does the acetone not melt the binding?

      I wondered the same thing. The very first time I refinished one of my guitars with binding, I pretty much did it the exacts same way as you did, but the binding started to melt away. Your refin looks great though.
