Looking back at this video, all Japan's toll gates are named just like in France's toll road (Péage de...). The toll gate names in Japan are labeled as "TB". So if the toll gate names mentioned in the description and in the video at 3:23 (Péage de Fes-Ville) and 26:04 (Péage de Sidi Allal El Bahraoui) were using the Japanese toll gate names, it would be called Fes-Ville Toll Gate (Fes-Ville TB) and Sidi Allal El Bahraoui Toll Gate (Sidi Allal El Bahraoui TB).
Hi, the toll gates you mention are in Morocco not France! But yes that would be the Japanese-style naming.
Have they build new highways in recent years? I haven't been in Morocco since 2016/2017
Hi, the last motorway opening in Morocco was in 2016 (A1 El Jadida-Safi) in 2020 construction of the Berrechid-Tit Mellil motorway should start. Other projects are the 2nd Rabat-Casablanca motorway and the access to Nador but they will likely take more time.

They build a motorway 2x2 ( not paid ) between Taza and Elhuceima.
Also two motorways are under construction Tiznit to Elayyoun (555km) and Chefchouen to Tetouan (49km)
They are planning to build a highway between Marrakech and Khnifra ( Paid )
Another one is planned in the future between Meknes and El errachidia and maybe until Ouarzazate.
A tunnel is under studying between Marrakech and ouarzazate to minimize the time to 3h.
@@tarikrafiki1790 Thats an expressway not a motorway. Currently there is only thw Tit Melil- Berrechid motorway and the Nador-Guercif motorway that are being prepared for construction. The other roads you mentioned are all expressways with roundbouts, and a max speed of 80 and 100km that go through cities and have no emergency lane, hence they cant be classified as motorways.

If only the African Colonialism era didn't happen, I find their road standards to be too Euro style, especially in countries where you drive on the left.
Former French colonies resorted to French corporations to build infrastructure and design signage so there are many similarities. Countries that were under British rule often use British-style signage. However in Europe few countries have a fully indigenous style with many of them borrowing US and British fonts for signage.

Otra cosa, la Avenida Hasan II Salé, dónde está? En Rabat?
Salé es una ciudad pegada a Rabat, las dos están separadas por el río Bouregreg. Y la avenida Hassan II está en las dos ciudades.
En realidad son varias avenidas, mas un puente (el puente Hassan II), todo unido entre sí, formando la Avenida Hassan II que atraviesa las dos ciudades desde la A1 en el sur, hasta el comienzo e intercambio de la N6 con la A1 en el este.
Era la carretera principal para cruzar Rabat y Salé antes de que existiera el tramo de la A1 (gratis) y la A5 (con peaje) que te permiten evitar la ciudad. Aquí tienes un mapa que te lo explica todo (la avenida Hassan II es la azul): www.casimages.com/i/2006010530124980.jpg.html

I think expressways look more or less similar in most countries, the only difference being the landscape and the signage style.

Este tramo de la A2 es el peor de todas las autopistas de Marruecos. Hay muchos desniveles, que se reparan y vuelven a reaparecer semanas más tarde. Es una carretera que tomo casi todos los fines de semana desde hace muchos años y nunca la ví sin obras !
Me esperaba a que hicieras un comentario sobre el radar que siempre se esconde entre la salida de Tiflet y el peaje jajaja... Antes lo que hacían era pararte inmediatamente en el arcén de la autopista, lo que es muy peligroso e ilegal en Marruecos. La gente no suele conocer todas las leyes así que se sometía al control sin protestar ni nada, hasta que un día, en 2016 un tal Hassan Ouarga, después de que le pillara el radar, grabó toda la escena en la que se negaba a detenerse en el arcén. Se volvió muy famoso en todo el país y el vídeo se hizo viral, lo que llevó al gobierno a reaccionar y a poner fin a este sistema que duraba casi 40 años ilegalmente.
Desde entonces solo paran a la gente en los peajes o envían las multas a casa. Estuvimos casi un año entero sin tener ni un radar móvil en toda la red de autopistas, porque un cambio de sistema supone un cambio de material a uno más adecuado y la adquisición de nuevos radares y el planteamiento de un nuevo plan requieren mucho tiempo...
Muy interesante, a mí esta autopista me pareció mejor mantenida que algunas de España. Me fijé en que los únicos radares móviles en las autopistas de Marruecos están justo antes de los peajes.

En términos absolutos puede parecer barato pero el ciudadano marroquí medio tiene una quinta parte de los ingresos que el español medio así que no lo es tanto.

Repeated traffic accidents. Many small towns and villages around highways. Kids would get hit by cars all the time. ADM would build them to avoid getting sued.
Now, with these bridges, there is a new danger that has cost the lives of hundreds. Drunk punks would throw rocks off them at cars by night. A real issue for motorway users in Morocco.
The A2 is in a very poor state its the worst highway in the country.
