    Still think its criminal to have abandoned a perfectly good trolleybus network. Useless bunch.

      I left Wellington forever two days after the Trams were taken off....moved to Melbourne,stayed here ever since,I have the biggest Tram System in the World to ride now...Melbourne my Wellington,and a GREAT PLACE TO LIVE>

    Councils around NZ made stupid decisions to remove the trams from their cities. Wellington was one of them. It was a very good environmentally-friendly system which moved thousands of people. The recent plan to build a new light rail system was flawed from the outset. One line from the CBD to Island Bay. It didn't even connect with the airport. I am glad it never went ahead.
