They have barely mounted an offensive, this is an annoyance. Kharkiv remains sound and Ukraine was able to mount a proper counter offensive following approval of strikes on Russian territory. Ukraine has plenty of land to bleed the Russians on, if this was a diversion, then they have made little use of it along the rest of the front.
Russia is gaining more and more ground in the Donbas. The Kharkiv offensive was absolutely effective in exacerbating the Ukrainian manpower shortage in the Donbas. Ukraine has not been able to expel Russia from Kharkiv Oblast, and the city itself was never the goal. If anything, Russia might have wanted to move far enough to be within artillery range of Kharkiv for more of their systems, but hardly more.
The Kharkiv offensive was never ment to take Kharkiv, they had to few troops deployed for it, and they know it. It was just a small offensive operation to weaken the Ukrainian lines elsewhere.

Russia is content with as many human loses as it takes as long as strategic goals are met. The current strategy is to keep sending in poorly equipped troops in to die with the hope that enemy runs out of ammo and retreats. It is incredibly barbaric and cruel. That's what "meat assault" means
@@Wo0dhull thanks for the explanation, so it can applicable for both sides such as sending under trained territorial defence forces to hold the line yes? all war and combat is barbaric at all levels i think...

@@SavageJunky Exactly this 👍 Almost all war / military oriented channels entirely forgo any mention of the increasingly deteriorating state of the Russian economy. Putin is taking money from anywhere he can, closing one gap and leaving another. This why things SEEM TO BE going well in CERTAIN REGIONS within Russia. He cannot keep this up. At some point this is going to fail. They are running out of money quick. And the remaining stored vehicles and munitions have not been maintained, or only very little (corruption levels in Russia are really, really high). Getting them back in working order is going to cost a LOT of money as well. Not to mention a great need for equipment and parts to be able to do the repairs. Often parts that were formerly being imported from the West. Infrastructure and state projects are already starting to fail, and failed infrastructure cannot be repaired anymore (the broken dams and collapsed rise highways, for example). All the money is going into Putin's war chest at the moment. This, as you mentioned, due to the loss of his billions, which he stored in foreign economies/banks/investment projects, as a means to have a war chest when he started the war. Putin greatly miscalculated, though. He didn't expect the West to come together so quickly and seize (what was to be) his war chest. There is a reason why Russians in certain parts of Russia are starting to rebel. People are going to increasingly notice how bad things really are. And it is going to get a lot worse... There is also a reason why they are recruiting people from Africa and other poor regions. They are having a great amount of trouble getting (Russian) people to fight for them, plus PAYING THEM! So, taking poor people is sort of an option to kind of solve that issue... I guess.... (it's not, of course). It's not a matter of IF, but a matter of WHEN the Russian economy is going to collapse. it may indeed take a few years more, but it is going to happen. No matter how much Russians are trying to downplay and flat out deny it. And people, certainly don't take my word for it. There are a LOT of economy specialists here on TH-cam that state and explain the same, in great detail. The Russian economy is in an undeniably bad state.
the tactical advantage would be superb because first theres the possibility of the capitulation of the capital and the variable of mass panic and disorganized defense to aid easier capture
Russian bot here. I don't really see where the offensive failed. When it is not immediately clear that this current offensive is about taking Kharkiv, and then the video then goes on to list how Ukraine is going to get aide from the West, is that the part where Russia has failed. I don't see the failure part.
The attack in the Kharkiv direction was never of a scope that could feasibly take Kharkiv, so the main objective was probably to create a buffer zone, and to divert Ukrainian manpower away from the Donbas. It achieved both, so Russia doesn't really have to advance beyond vovchansk. They successfully exacerbated the manpower shortage in the Donbas.
@@adamhall5298 Yeah, things break in war. That's going to happen. They still managed to draw a substantial amount of manpower away from the Donbas, and are gaining ground in the Donbas. "Diversion" doesn't mean that it's fake. It means that they are forcing Ukraine to divert resources due to an imminent threat, which is exactly what happened.
In order to have a video with this title, you would have to know the intent of the Russian military. No one does, except them. So, that means you are projecting or ignorant. Stick to history. That's where your strength is.
It is difficult to judge, but from what we see, most of stuff has been delivered. The only broken promise is on the artillery shells. Ukraine got less than half of what it was promised by the EU so far this year.

I don't know if the video is deliberate misinformation or a poor analysis. The number of men Russia deployed to this front (around 40K~) was never enough to reach Kharkiv, and they know this. I am more inclined to believe that russian generals intended to spread ukrainian forces as much as possible. Russia knew Ukraine would get permission to use western weapons to attack their territory. Would it be possible to change the border styles for countries that are not Ukraine or Russia? The other European countries being red, yellow, or green give the impression of them being allied/adversaries that can be misleading. I thought Poland was an enemy of Ukraine for a second because it shared a red border until I realized it was Poland. Could countries be filled with their flag when viewing continents or larger?
Even after 2.5 years I am still shocked that NATO countries are still giving crumbs to Ukraine even we all together had 20x bigger military budget than Russia. Add some countries which are not in NATO as well (Sui, Aut, Ire, Aus, Jap, S. Kor, NZ) and the joke gets bigger. All of this countries together have 50x bigger budget than Russia. Either help Ukraine or don't.
Training is the biggest issue. There was a report that came out saying "There are 30 Ukrainian pilots who are now eligible to receive training, but the F-16 school in Tucson, Arizona, can at most accept 12 additional trainees." Logistics are not far behind. The F16, like most Western/American toys, are logistically complicated and maintenance heavy. They probably should have gone with the Gripen.
To add on here, the best Ukrainian pilots are often the hardest to train on new vehicles because they have so much training and doctrine on other platforms that are used very differently. The 16 is a unique bird to understand how it should be used and i hear they are having trouble with this. But you dont want green pilots either, they could learn the 16 better but then just dont have the chops for combat yet or the basics of flight already drilled into more experienced ones.

This war logic on behalf of Putin is kinda fckd up…at this point you would want this war going forever (as a stabilising factor of the regime) but in this case you should be very careful wasting your manpower because the second wave of mobilisation in Russia is a risk factor you should avoid at all cost. So you should preserve your manpower. I believe at this point it’s more practical to prolong the war not to risk getting your manpower deteriorated by trying to conquer more land. The Starlink they use now is mostly a different version, for military use, and not the same as the commercial one and is under the control of the United States. There is no problem of Ukraine using it and the alternatives are far worse. This is just misinformation and/or Musk hate.
The Western artillery shell prices are I believe something that increased quite a lot in recent years, probably due to the shortages. One could argue that the high prices are in practice the price reflecting the costs to build the various expansions and new factories. Russia in this seems to be working more with old facilities, so probably don't have much capital costs then. Well in any case, each year the total western artillery production number seems to be rising quickly, so hopefully in 2025 quite a lot more will be available for Ukraine.
Russian artillery shell production is deceptive. They are restoring a lot of stockpiled shells, including ones bought from North Korea. Though they are still producing more new ones for now, than the west are

Just a thought but perhaps Russia isn't out of tanks or holding them back for some other offensive, but perhaps they are out of trained tank crews. I mean because of their jack in the box problem. Each tank loss isn't just one of papa Stalins babies gone but also an entire trained crew of tankers. I mean their "training pipeline" leaves a lot to be desired. But that's my humble opinion.
Yes, similar to what Israel faced against Lebanon when they invaded during 2006 when their entire tanks were destroyed along with the tank crews. Ukraine has used strategies multiple times that Lebanon used against Israel. Lebanon and Ukraine stand together against the imperial states of Russia and Israel.

Almost all war / military oriented channels entirely forgo any mention of the increasingly deteriorating state of the Russian economy.
The Russian economy is in an undeniably bad state.

why does it take so long for F-16s, or any other equipment really to arrive?
Training is the main bottleneck right now, I think. They should have started earlier. That decision delayed the delivery considerably.
Training is the biggest issue. There was a report that came out saying "There are 30 Ukrainian pilots who are now eligible to receive training, but the F-16 school in Tucson, Arizona, can at most accept 12 additional trainees."
Logistics are not far behind.

How are those who ruin peoples finance, for example, with intentional deceit, trickery, sharp practice, or breach of confidence, perpetrated for profit or to gain some unfair or dishonest advantage less dagerous than drug traffickers ?
because drug trafficking is a crime that not only involves implied violence but also brings with it a culture of violence and corruption that could cause harm to ukraine's military.
@boarfaceswinejaw4516 that is a very logical and simple answer to this question thanks
Thanks for the video
With the numbers they had it looked more diversionary than anything
Really an excellent material devoted to the Ukrainian war. Thank you very much indeed
Standard media mistake:
Comparing 4.5 million russian shells of ALL kind of caliber with 'just' 1,3 million 155 mm shells of the west. If you add all other western caliber ammunition caliber, the numbers are more equal.
Lieutenant General Artur Horbenko, Commander of the 125th Separate Brigade of Territorial Defence (Ukraine) resigned over the failure to defend the border.
It is astonishing, how well different point of view and desire to zombify bunch of oblivious people can distort truth abd reality. Good luck to your channel. Make sure you dont say anything bad about Trudeau. No cap
Can you make a video about the art of war
RU put more resources than needed for a diversion but not enough for a serious push.
Also RU would never capture Kharkiv. The goal would have been to get close enough to pound it and make the city unlivable.
"We are very lucky they are so f****** stupid."
Everyday that quote keeps on giving.
I don't see how they are stupid. They have fought this war to the best of anyone's ability. This war is a first in human history, the first real modern war, and everyone is still figuring it out.
I remember how people said the same about bakhmut and the other big city which name i forgot
@LeroxYT Think. Kharkiv (1.4 million) is 14 times bigger than Bakhmut and Avdiivka (70k, 30k) combined. To cut off supply routes into the city, which is what forced Ukraine out, they would need a much bigger force than they had.
There was never a serious effort to capture Kharkiv.
@@specialnewb9821 ye kharkiv is still fairly far away from the Front, but Ukraines Situation now is also way worser than when bakhmut and avdiivka were captured, and russia is only gonna produce more and more over time , while Ukraine is only losing more and more. When Kharkiv is a battleground, the US elections will decide if Ukraine can hold it for a bit, or Not.
There was an interview several.months ago where a Ukrainian reporter interviewing Ukrainian commanders started out by referring to the Russians as stupid clowns or some such.
The commander was having none of it. Taken to its logical conclusion it meant his men were in a death struggle with clowns and fools, which by extension must make his men clowns and fools for having such a hard time beating clowns and fools.
He is right. This whole trope is incredibly toxic to the war effort and does more harm than good.
That would be around 640 order modell PBV 302 APCs
Imagine this being your hometown, Karkiv...
My girl is from there. The city itself is relatively quiet right now
Ask Gonzalo lira
@@AustrianPainter14 Ask a Russian propagandist and incel TH-camr from Chile who died of pneumonia 5 months ago what it's like to see your hometown attacked by the Russian Army?
Why would he possibly know what that feels like?
Spread your Russian propaganda somewhere else "AustrianPainter14". Your dogwhistles aren't subtle.
@@AustrianPainter14lol. For as much as I disliked that guy. I really hope he wasn't actually killed or tortured.
@@DougMickey he just smoked his lungs to death
These nuclear threats are so pathetic
With aid approved and slowly filtering through to the front lines Russia's opportunity to make significant advances is closing. If they haven't made a major breakthrough by now, they aren't going to. They won't have another opportunity to make significant gains unless there is another gap in aid. I think the desperate situation over the last few months demonstrated that it is probably possible for Russia to win if western aid ceases entirely. But it is impossible for them to win so long as the aid keeps coming. And with a significant increase in aid it is even possible for Ukraine to start taking back significant amounts of ground. Russia's only hope is to convince the west to stop sending aid, which is why they have put so much effort into propaganda campaigns that portray Russian victory as inevitable and western aid as pointless.
Awesome catchup,
Trying to find honest true reporting regarding this whole conflict is damn near impossible. You have so many differing accounts of why it started who's at fault and what a realistic end game looks like.
It started because Russia invaded Ukraine. That's it.
Yeah... Because the honnest truth is that Ruzzia invade Ukraine to genocide it's population. Maybe everyone blame Ruzzia because they are the one to blame heh?
According to Russia, the end game is de-nazification of Ukraine. Whatever that means. And to bring back ethnic Russians in the northern part of Ukraine back into the fold. But that's a really vague end game situation. There isn't a clear goal. Like "We take these places and we stop" or whatever. Russia has zero clue what it's doing right now.
Weeb Union does an excellent job at just giving facts and analysis of everything that’s going
ISW is very biased in tone but quite balanced when it comes to reporting. This makes them quite entertaining to read because you can sense their joy or depression depending on whoever's had success in their reports.
This is a defensive war
For Ukraine, yes
