I like the idea. I could see Dobson popping off in SJ. Islanders hockey crushes offensive players in their system. But like you said it really doesn’t seem like the sharks have what they’re looking for. Ironically I was surprised when the sharks didn’t claim Bovquist off waivers. Could have been a good pickup.
I could be wrong, but I think the team had too many contracts at the time of the Boqvist waiver. Would’ve been stocked if they got him though
@@CLew9I’m pretty sure you’re right. Although why they wouldn’t have waived someone like Giovanni Smith to free up space is beyond me 😅
Well, the player does display some potential I think with the sharks he would’ve bottomed out bad. Boquist needed a team. Defensive dynamic like New York Islanders truly thrive.
I like the idea of Landing Dobson, but the team development side of me thinks the smarter route would be seeing how much Seth Jones from Chicago cost. Chicago has a bunch of quality young Wright D they’re gonna have to trade either Jones or Murray pretty quick here, just to free up space for Levshunov and Rimzel and four years of Seth Jones would be perfect. Draft Verhoeff 31:30 next year and then he has three years to develop into a top 4 D before Jones contract is up.
Seth Jones, not good at hockey anymore.
Bystedt
Walman
2025 1st round pick (Dallas)
give em walman, bords and kunin
We don’t have the assets that we should be willing to part with. The 10.5x8 likely is fine. I just don’t think we have the assets to get him.
Zetterlund+Ferraro+Dallas 1st rounder for Dobson. I would much rather have Dobson until he is 33 then going for 29/30 year old in Ekblad/Pionk and giving them 7 years and aged out at 37 years old when the Sharks are in their prime.
No not Zetterlund I will quit watching sports for ever if he gets traded
Zetterlund is a part of the shark’s core. No way they’re trading him. Dobson isn’t worth it.
I’d miss Zetterlund, but I’d do that package in a heartbeat… realistically though I don’t think the islanders would say yes to it
I’d be okay with that offer. Keep in mind that once more talent comes into the lineup Zetterlund probably drops to the 3rd line. Fair price to acquire a potential #1.
Zetterlund but yeah, I have to agree if we can trade him Ferraro the Dallas first but I think they’re gonna want somebody like Halttunen not Bords added
Ehhh idk if he’s a Grier guy, wouldn’t wanna give up tooo much to get him tbh
You already answered it. We traded the guy that might have scored us Dobson. I think we are looking at fishing UFA's and working on development at the moment. If someone is willing to move a young RD for the Dallas pick, great. But righties are a premium. Full developed NHL righties, doubly so.
dobson will be expensive, nemec would be cheaper
@@larryjohnson8168 Nemec is cheaper because he's less of a sure thing. You pay for more for more certainty.
@larryjohnson8168 Apparently the price for Nemec was Eklund. Pass.
Imagine a future D core of:
Scheafer-Dobson
Dickinson-Walman
Cagnoni-Pohlkamp
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
don't even need to watch this video. SJ doesn't have any pieces to compete with packages other teams would offer for Dobson. And that's IF Dobson is even being shopped. The source of the rumor is not reputable. If it turns out Dobson is being shopped, it would be for an elite 1st line forward. Any potential trade package SJ would have to offer would likely involve someone like Eklund or Smith but I doubt NY would take Smith because he's not there yet. NY wants a player that can contribute at the highest level right now, not in the future.
Snag Dobson and Byram
II don't think so. He's a decent player but he isn't the lock down blue liner we need
Seems like the price would be Eklund.
Agreed. I might pay that
@@voightkampffchamp Dobson isn’t worth it💀
Dobson had one season where he was trending to be a point per game top pairing defenseman. Every other season he’s been a .50/PPG defenseman.
It would be a huge gamble to give up Eklund for a guy that *might be* a #1 defenseman. I’d hate to do that and end up with a slightly better Addison or Liljegren for 6-8 years.
Zetterlund might be worth the gamble, unlikely NYI would accept that trade though.
This is why the Sharks have NHL scouts, to make these educated guesses 😅
Dobson for Dallas 1st, Sharks high 2nd, Ferraro, mid tier prospect
I agree that outside of Zetterlund, nothing remotely fits what the Islanders want (an elite scorer). But I also think that Lou would severely overvalue Ferraro. So maybe Ferraro + Zetterlund + Dallas’ 1st + prospect could do it? I’d trade that instantly for Dobson, personally
Time out...the Sharks are the WORST team in the league, and you're mocking the Islanders? 🤔
Sharks have a long term plan and the best prospect pool in the NHL
@@LockedOnSharks I'm not saying they don't have a plan, and acquiring Dobson would be a nice step in that direction. I just don't understand how you can throw stones at the Islanders who have made the playoff 4 times including two Conference Finals since the Sharks last made the playoffs. You could have simply reported the news of the potential trade without that.
Noah Dobson would be a dream acquisition -- but so long as Grier doesn't give up too much. I'm not sure he can do that. If he can do Dobson = Bystedt + Mukhamadullin + DAL 2025 1st + Ferraro/late-1st , then that'd be a win. But I don't see any other package he can put together I'd be okay with.
Doubt Lou wanted Granland. Outside of Eklund I don't see us having anything they want. I'd be OK with trading Eklund for Dobson
Hell no Im hanging the phone
What don’t you guys get sharks aren’t trading eklund or Zetterlund they’re part of the shark’s core and Dobson isn’t just worth it💀
@@Christorre_sharksfanSeriously we’re in year two of a rebuild and people are talking about trading one of best forwards. Yeah Dobson would be nice but not for that price.
I could see Lou being the type of GM that would overvalue Ferraro and his shotblocking abilities 😂 Grier would go straight to the hockey hall of fame if he could land Dobson for Ferraro, Bordeleau, and a 2nd round pick 😂
@@MrVisde yes. Celebrini is off the table for anyone offered. Smith, Eklund, and Zetterlund are off the table unless the offer is super insane. In short those 4 are not tradable.
We are going to have to thin out the Cuda forwards group though to make room for incoming prospects. A lot of them aren’t going to make the NHL for the sharks. -- Bords, Russell, Robbins, Gushchin and Coe.
wait tell end season no reason to get better now. Also fire coach.
