You know I started my little adventure in that neighborhood a little too late in the day, it was one in the afternoon. I’m also not a coffee drinker and I just had no time to sit down. But I’m sure there’s tons of great little places.
Hi Serg. That old trees, Its an ancient Thai tradition. Before religions had been existed, they believed that spirits dwelled inside those trees , rivers and other natures. That time no machine , handed-weaving was the only way to make clothes using a lot of endurance and time. Thats why clothes were symbolized of “love”. So wrapping the trees with colorful clothes mean exchanging loves. They believed that the spirit would give luck and wishes back. Nowadays, I thought it was just prevention from cutting down trees. 😂😂 I really enjoy your vlog. Wish u have a great journey.
Thank you so much for the explanation about the wrapping of the trees. I find it to be a wonderful tradition. I’m glad you enjoy my content, there is much more to come. Thank you for your support.

Yes, I read every comment and I try to respond to every single one of them. At some point, if this channel continues to grow, it will be nearly impossible for me to respond to every comment. Bangkok expands its street arts more and more every year. And it spreads out all over Thailand, Phuket, Hua Hin, Rayong, Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai etc. Personally I totally loves this kind of street arts (aesthetic style and not graffiti). It really makes the city more beautiful and enrich the community culture (because at China Town, they painted each block telling the lore of the old community.)🥰🌈
This was definitely one of my favorite little areas. I’m gonna have to come back and just walk around and enjoy it without thinking about having to make a video.
Hey Serg, I’m a Thai American kid and haven’t been back to Thailand for a long time, so I really miss Thailand. You videos give me so much nostalgia and I love it. Keep posting man!
Thank you, especially for the little alley at 2:20. I've looked at its portal-like entrance on Google Earth several times, wondering what that alley looks like and what secrets it may hide. Alleys like this are a tourist's paradise.
Yeah I was really curious where the color came from. Thank you for that information. Glad you enjoyed this video. Now I have to think of another video to make, lol.
We think very much alike. Two nights ago, my wife her friend and I explored the alleys off of Yarawat Rd. In Chinatown. Cobblestone streets, a multitude of ancient shops, stopping to eat at an obscure stall with chairs and tables set up on the street (I was the only farang in sight) - that, is how you discover a new culture. Carry on, sir!
A friend mentioned Talat Noi, so I researched it and came across your video. I love it and I've got a thing about the wires too! Been to Chinatown but not this area, so it will be the next one to explore. Thank you for sharing this!
while you were having food, I saw you have some seasoning on your rice dish. keep in mind when you eat rice dish. only put fish sauce with chili . When you eat noodle dish. only push vinegar with ground chili or slice big pepper.
Yes several people have mentioned this. Well I understand certain food customs, I feel it’s OK to experiment and make some flavors. Thank you for watching
Street Art is so awesome, and the area look old and clean , l can’t believe, no one made a mess or graffiti those art works. They kept area quite clean. I am having fun getting lost with you. The red noodle soup , I had it here in LA , name “ Yen Ta Four” loving the historic old Chinese Temple and mansion. This tour is fun.
I know exactly what you mean! I lived in the San Francisco Bay area for 40 years, and although it would be hard to imagine art like this surviving, I’ve seen the number of pieces of street art that went untouched for years. Thank you for the clarification on the noodles.
I completely understand! I would have people come to my city and they would find things that I did not know exist. It’s amazing how many things we don’t know in our own backyards.
Hi, Bruv you are a man with the same attitude as myself. I enjoy the tourist spots but much prefer getting off the beaten track and mingling with locals. You learn so much more about the culture this way. Take care GOD Bless you and yours. M
Yes! You completely understand where I’m coming from. I’m just not sure if people would enjoy content where I’m just aimlessly wandering around back streets looking for stuff. I’ll have to try one and see how it goes over.
@@LifewithSerg @Life with Serg These walkabout videos are interesting but not all the time. Mix it up and be relevant. I can see you are popular at 10.5 k in a matter of weeks. Just be yourself whilst we tag along for the ride.
I've been to this Chinatown twice, it's a totally unique place in Thailand. Do check out the the backstreets opposite (or behind? Can't remember precisely) of Wat Mangkon station, it's a hidden gem. A big backstreets market, you will discover a lot of good foods (non touristy) there.
Enjoying your videos brother. I lived in BKK for 3 years and moved back to TX last summer due to COVID. Miss it every day and trying to get back. Serg, reminds me so much of my childhood growing up in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Colonial styled shop houses, bustling roads and quiet alley ways. Amazing murals too! Remarkably clean to my surprise.
Yeah, a few other commenters noted how clean it was. I was very impressed. On a whole, Bangkok is a very clean city considering how big it is. I’m glad you enjoyed this video.
Hi Serg, love your videos. My Thai wife and I will be moving to Bangkok very soon. Like you, my wife and I are foodies but I'm not as adventurous as you to try street vendor food. Maybe our paths will cross sometime there. Looking forward to your next video. Joel
Thank you very much to both of you Joel. I’ve always been an adventurous eater, as long as it’s still not alive. 555. Give it a try sometime, you might find it I’ll open a whole New World for you. Maybe we’ll run into each other sometime in Bangkok. Take care.
The red noodle is red because they put red fermented red tofu in the sauce. You should seasoning it with the stuffs which they keep it on the table. For the rice , don’t need to do anything , just eat it…
Hi Serge I like your Channel of your very good respectful and with knowledge comments. It’s amazing to watch your informations and your beautiful pictures. These Graffitis are really beautiful and I could never do that. Before my first Trip to Thailand I wasn’t interested in Thailand at all. During this Trip and my second Trip in 2018 I learned from my (before Girl friend) wife a lot of the culture and the characters from Thailand. I never expected that’s fits so much to me. I am really astonished about. Yeah the food in Thailand is a dream and am happy I can enjoy in a view years every day. I like your walk through the Neighbourhood and through the small Streets to see the real Thailand life. Could you tell me kindly an address from an Apartment House with Swimming Pool and Gym? Cheap would be nice. If you can tell would be nice.
I think that’s wonderful that you have learned to appreciate the Thai culture and food. I understand that it can take some time for some of us from western countries to really enjoy and understand the culture here. Almost every apartment building has a pool at some kind of a gym. I don’t know what kind of price range you have so it’s impossible for me to recommend. Also it depends what area you want to live in. I have a friend who is a condo sales agent, and we will be doing a video touring several different condos.
That Street Art Artist is Alex Face or Mr.Pattcharapon Taeng-Ruen-well known for his Third eyes Rabbit painting. Many of his works spread out all this country.
Per my understanding for the Tree with colorful wraps. There are many reasons: 1) as you mentioned we believe that there is a lady spirit in there but mostly in Banana trees which we call Mae Ta Nee. 2) Asking for number(s) for the lottery. Could be by scratching the tree using baby powder and they will either use their imagination to see something appears as digit(s). If you see baby powder on logs or trees, that most likely for lottery. 3) If you see the wrapped tree with a small house with some traditional dolls, elephant, etc in there, it is most likely we believe either people death a lot or there is/are the guardian(s) at that location. It could be more believes but these are top 3 reasons for the wrapped trees/logs. I hope you enjoy traveling in Thailand. Welcome to Thailand
Hi serg wow amazing I will like to try some Thai food oneday when I visit Thailand in the future the restaurant I will definitely want to eat some from I'm suki restaurants its very interesting to me as I eat rice with sausage i remember when I have in mind about japan its got my attention to the japanese cuisine like curry rice bento boxes and everything about japanese food
Thailand has an extremely wide variety of food. You can find everything from extremely affordable street food, to the finest dining establishments. I’m sure you’ll find all sorts of things here that you would enjoy.
Great video and great footage of the art work . I hope to be coming to Bangkok much later in the year all going well, I will definitely be following in your steps and going to look for myself 👍👍
Do you know this is one of those cities were I could live here for 20 years and probably only discover 5% of all the things that are so interesting here.
Very cool Serg. Like your commentary and viewpoints. BTW, I am in Bangkok right now as we speak and will go to Talat Noi to check it out for myself very soon when we head to Chinatown. Cooling towels also a must as you suggest because words cannot describe the humid conditions. You have to experience it, plan for it, and get used it. Believe it or not, it was even MORE hot and humid in Phnom Penh last week.
Yeah Leo, you’re absolutely right about the humidity. I’ve lived here for five weeks and it’s going to take me a little bit longer to get used to it. I put links in the description of the video to everything I showed in the toilet in the neighborhood. It’s a wonderful little area. I’m planning to go back to explore it some more without having the pressure of trying to make a video at the same time.
Good video , thanks for sharing , I also take landscape videos in UK and sometimes abroad, it's very helpful , I subscribed to the channel, so I'm looking forward to it. Thank you for the good video
I can’t wait to go back to this area and explore it without the pressure of having to make a video. There’s so much more than that I’m sure I missed. Glad you enjoyed it, thank you for your support.
I try to respond to every single comment. I definitely read all of them. There will come a time, if my channel gets much bigger, where I simply won’t be able to respond to every single comment due to the volume. But until that time, I will continue to respond to everybody.
Hi Serg, great content as always! For your next video, you should check out the new MINE Smart Ferry. It's a great way to enjoy the scenic views of the Chao Praya at a super affordable price (I believe the ticket only costs 20 Baht). I haven't seen anyone does a video on it yet!
That sauce is for noodle if you love sweet put sugar in your noodle if you like sour use the one that have a pepper and venegar. for rice we use only fish sauce
Another great video, the artwork was amazing. So many talented people out there! I had never heard the term suicide doors, just looked it up, very interesting!!
Hope I can start doing videos at one point. Hopefully on Thailand next year of O can ever save money lol. Would love to see a video on how you film stuff and how you edit ect. Kinda behind the science. I am guessing your using a phone and a selfie stick????
Don’t wait until you have everything lined up perfectly. Start making videos now. I use one of the simplest ways to film an edit. Everything is shot and edited on my iPhone 13 Pro Max. It’s not a selfie stick per se, it’s a small handheld tripod. Just use whatever you’ve got and go for it!
You can make anything interesting. I’m no expert, but the best advice I can give is just be genuine and cover a topic that you’re enthusiastic about. If people like you as a person, they will watch variety of contents from you. Best of luck!
The red soup is 'yong tao fu', a noodle dish originating from China, commonly eaten throughout Southeast Asia. In Thailand, this is another modified version of it.
Those colourful tree wrappings were mainly used to apiece the spirits, the thais do believe powerful spirits lies within great trees like that especially the Bodhi.
It’s funny you say that, sometimes when I watch my videos I feel the same way. However I’m worried that if I do a 25 or 30 minute long video people won’t watch it. I’ll try one and see what happens!
I absolutely plan to go to Chiang Mai and probably stay there for a week or two. It’s also one of the places that I plan to start one of my motorbike trips from. I will absolutely be documenting all of that
Love your videos exploring parts of Bangkok, I’m a Thai living in pattanakarn district which contains several landmarks you might want to discover near Ekkamai. Moreover, our neighborhood(soi) is great for you to come visit and take some videos to portrays housing district in the suburbs, let me know if you want to come around 😁
That the tree is wrapped by many color cloths 1 : is believed it is occupied by spirits or angels or gods for every old tree. 2: on the other hand, is like a trick to prevent it from being cut by the others
Great Vid yet again Serg. Love those wall arts (many I saw from your instagram too) and thks for taking us seeing them through your camera frame adventure! (^_^) The restaurant is in fact called "Im" pronouncing as in "Important" (means full-eating) and "Suki" is pronounced as "Suk" (means Happy). I reckon they want to make it looked like an english name... but it is a Thai name... meaning "happily full" (from eating). (^_^) The pink soup and those spiritual trees are described well as many explainations here. BTW, I love the vibes of small "soi" you took including Chinese shrine..... Ohhh... all in all, your T-shirt is the great one! Like it! Many thks sir! (^_^)

Great video. Looking forward to the next.
Glad you enjoyed it! I’ve got a few ideas in the works for the next few videos
Perfect. Good luck. Love Thailand. Last visit was in 2017. Long over due.
A long.. colonial style houses are the best!! Nostalgia.💖
Yes they are so cool.
Take care.
Great shots. Excellent work! Love them!
Thank you! I’m glad you enjoyed this video. It’s very rewarding to know the people enjoy watching them.
The red noodle is red because they put red fermented red tofu in the sauce.
You should seasoning it with the stuffs which they keep it on the table.
For the rice , don’t need to do anything , just eat it…
So I put all the seasoning in the wrong dish? That’s pretty funny. I have a lot to learn, but I love the process. Food was delicious.
Thank you so much for the reminder! I couldn’t remember the name of that street artist!
Hi…Serg beautiful video Thank you…from Bay Area
I do miss all of my friends in the familiarity of the Bay Area. Take care!
Per my understanding for the Tree with colorful wraps. There are many reasons:
1) as you mentioned we believe that there is a lady spirit in there but mostly in Banana trees which we call Mae Ta Nee.
Thank you so much for all of that information! That definitely helps me get a better understanding of some of these customs.
@@LifewithSerg you're welcome :)
Wow ! Serg I'm so Hungry when I Watching your VDO. Have fun serg.
I get hungry watching my own videos! When I was editing this video today I got so hungry.
@@LifewithSerg thanks I will
Great video and great footage of the art work .
Nice walking tour in local Bangkok neighborhood ,most of visitor here is Thai so I think this is your good experience there.
Little neighborhoods like Talat Noi really put a big smile on my face.
Great video Serg, and I ‘m impressed and appreciated with your response on every comments . Most of TH-camrs don’t even read them.
I try to respond to every single comment. I definitely read all of them. There will come a time, if my channel gets much bigger, where I simply won’t be able to respond to every single comment due to the volume. But until that time, I will continue to respond to everybody.
Very cool channel. New subscriber. Cheers
Welcome aboard Thomas, thank you so much for your support.
Hi Serg, great content as always! For your next video, you should check out the new MINE Smart Ferry. It's a great way to enjoy the scenic views of the Chao Praya at a super affordable price (I believe the ticket only costs 20 Baht). I haven't seen anyone does a video on it yet!
I’ve actually not been out on the river yet! I need to do it soon, and that’s a great idea as I’m familiar with this new ferry. Great idea!
Brilliant idea!
Do you have a route you can recommend through talad noi to see all the interessting sights. Its a nice video, please make more o them. Best Matthias
If you look at the description, I put Google map links to each one. You can make your own map out of those.
@@LifewithSerg thank you.
Pink color soup mainly because of fermented tofu 'Taohoo Yee"
Oh, OK. Thank you for letting me know. I was really curious what gave it that color.
The red color in the noodle soup was from the fermented tofu. It is called Tao Hoo Yee.
Thank you for letting me know. I was wondering what it was.
The pink dish looks like a vegetarian yentafo noodles. Pink from fermented bean curd/ colouring
OK that makes sense! I was wondering what gave it that color. It was quite delicious.
I hope you bought some local art pieces for your place. I really like the adventures you dare to take. A look at the realThailand is amazing!
Hi Lilly! The street art at this location was amazing. Oddly enough, I didn’t run across anyone selling any art pieces. 🤔
That sauce is for noodle if you love sweet put sugar in your noodle if you like sour use the one that have a pepper and venegar. for rice we use only fish sauce
Yes, I now understand that I put all the sauces in the wrong dish. 555. I have much to learn. 🤣
@@LifewithSerg yes 555
Another great video, the artwork was amazing. So many talented people out there! I had never heard the term suicide doors, just looked it up, very interesting!!
Yes, the artwork in that area is amazing. I showed you guys the main pieces, but there’s so much more. As for the doors, they are very cool.
Beautiful, another great video.
I really enjoyed making this one because there are so many colorful pieces of street art in this neighborhood.
@@LifewithSerg I agree 100%. I love this isn't gang-related or destructive, but amazing talent used to the elevation of all those around. Great point.
Absolutely! I’ve dealt with my fair share of gang members in my prior career, I’m always happy to see good street art.
@@LifewithSerg thanks man I been doing a TH-cam channel since the pandemic, but it's a mukbang channel so nothing that interesting haha
You can make anything interesting. I’m no expert, but the best advice I can give is just be genuine and cover a topic that you’re enthusiastic about. If people like you as a person, they will watch variety of contents from you. Best of luck!
Very cool! Never been to that part of Bangkok before.
Do you know this is one of those cities where I think you could live for 20 or 30 years and not even scratch 5% of all the things here.
The red soup is 'yong tao fu', a noodle dish originating from China, commonly eaten throughout Southeast Asia. In Thailand, this is another modified version of it.
OK, that makes sense. Thank you for letting me know what it was. It was quite delicious.
Nice vid
Thank you John, glad you enjoyed it. Talat Noi is a such a vibrant and colorful area.
Motorbike in river 😅 You crack shack me up!
Ha ha. Glad you enjoyed this video.
Those colourful tree wrappings were mainly used to apiece the spirits, the thais do believe powerful spirits lies within great trees like that especially the Bodhi.
Great, thank you for letting me know
Pink color noodle soup , we call it that "Yen Ta Four" sir.
Thank you very much for letting me know Joe. I was wondering what gave it that color.

I'm starting to feel like your video is too short. I'm having fun. The video ends very quickly. 😂😂😂
It’s funny you say that, sometimes when I watch my videos I feel the same way. However I’m worried that if I do a 25 or 30 minute long video people won’t watch it. I’ll try one and see what happens!
@@LifewithSerg 15-17 mins is ok if you upload 2 times a week. But if you upload once a week 25-30 min is a must to keep momentum of subscribers.
Yeah once a week is too infrequent. I’m shooting for every 2-3 days.
If you like to try a good authentic Chinese food in BKK which made from the local chef to local people not tourists I recommend Talat Phlu to you
That sounds just like the kind of place I would enjoy. Thank you so much for the recommendation!
I really hope that Chiangmai is your next journey. (:
I absolutely plan to go to Chiang Mai and probably stay there for a week or two. It’s also one of the places that I plan to start one of my motorbike trips from. I will absolutely be documenting all of that
Love your videos exploring parts of Bangkok,
I’m a Thai living in pattanakarn district which contains several landmarks you might want to discover near Ekkamai. Moreover, our neighborhood(soi) is great for you to come visit and take some videos to portrays housing district in the suburbs, let me know if you want to come around 😁
That’s actually pretty cool area, and I definitely plan on going there at some point.

Bangkok is such a huge city, I think I could live here for 20 years and not discover 10% of it.
In Thailand there are more than 10,000 7/11 and these shops are heaven for tourists because of air con .😂😂😂
Oh yesss. They are great!! Love them.
That the tree is wrapped by many color cloths 1 : is believed it is occupied by spirits or angels or gods for every old tree. 2: on the other hand, is like a trick to prevent it from being cut by the others
Yes, I’ve heard about the tradition of wrapping trees like that so they will not be cut down. Thank you for clarifying that for me
Off the beaten path for sure……crossing the street is like the video game Frogger 🐸….🚙 🚕 🚗 🚚
Yes, I actually almost got hit by a motorbike later that day. I looked the wrong way again, and almost got clobbered.
@@LifewithSerg 😳 be careful 😹
I’m so happy you liked it. Thanks for letting me know about the name of the restaurant. I would’ve never guessed! I can’t wait to go back to that area without a camera and just explore.
Interesting vlog as always, just wondering if you are staying in Thailand for good? Kuala Lumpur here, visit us whenever.
I’m definitely going to visit some other countries next year. I’m staying in Thailand for the rest of this year, there’s so much to explore here.

It is not a temple but a shrine. There are many Chinese shrines in Bangkok. Shrine has no monk unlike temple. Thanks
Yes, my mistake. I realized that after I recorded the video.
