I've cried so many times throughout the whole film, these boys have such a big place in my heart :’)) I also couldn’t help myself and I came up with theories regarding each member's section. I could be really wrong lmao but nonetheless I had fun coming up with these!! (I also mention some of their backgrounds and I am unsure if all of the info is correct) HONGJOONG'S DREAM: He explained in a KQ fellas video that he spent the majority of his time in the studio, meaning that he didn’t have much time for his friends and family and he felt that it was like living in a completely different world from everyone else and he was alone. SEONGHWA'S MEMORY: There is an old video of SH saying how he really didn’t like who he was and he would constantly try to hide his face. Looking back at it now, maybe the thing that he was missing was the ability to love and believe in himself. Now that he's a part of ateez and he sees the many people who love him his confidence has really come out. WOOYOUNG'S CHOICE: wy used to be trainee in another company alongside yeosang but ys eventually left leaving wy alone. In his section it showed how he was scared to pursue his dream because of the fear of being looked down upon by the community. In a vlive us mentioned how wy left their company to go to KQ and when asked why was because he made a promise to ys that they would debut together. Wy now had one of his best friends by his side to support him and he also met 6 other members who would become his best of friends to help him overcome his fears and see that so many people out there love him. YEOSANG'S TIME: As I mentioned ys and wy previously trained in another company. In his part, it looked like he lacked any sort of freedom. Ys is incredibly passionate about his artistry but he felt like he was wasting time in a place where he couldn’t live freely like he was stuck, trapped. So he quit. When the violin dropped and the birds flew free it was symbolizing him finally being able to live without restraint and pressuring reputation to live up to. He was able to be himself and let loose. It was a chance for him to fall in love with his passion once again. SAN'S RESOLUTION: In his section he explained how he would constantly move a lot, I’m assuming it’s because of his parent's work. Because he moved, he didn’t have very many friends, his only close friends were his grandparents, who he explained in a KQ fellaz video that he felt closer to than he did his parents. He picked up a pair of shoes which I believe symbolizes the walks that his grandparents would invite him on. Now that he is a part of Ateez he feels a sense of stability, something permanent, because he now has an incredible group of friends. But he still has his doubts whether it really is permanent. I believe the escalator represents his life, as it is constantly taking him in one direction without much control as to where he's going. But when he decides to turn back and counter the flow of the escalator, it’s like he's saying that he's done being pushed down a path, he's happy where he is and he is willing to work against life (escalator) to stay with ateez. (Also peep the shoes which gave him strength) YUNHO AND HIS BROTHER: This one is gonna be one hell of a stretch but here it is. YH does have a younger brother and in the section it showed broken instruments and a messy ,suicidal room. He also said how it was “his fault” and that he was going to make his brother's dream come true. I'm guessing that his brother wanted to become and idol as well but we’ll know how difficult and complicated becoming an idol is. Maybe his family could only allow/afford one of their kids to become an idol. The train hitting him could represent how his brother felt when he felt his dreams shatter. Now that yh is an idol (a powerful one ;)) ) he will do whatever he can to support his brother's dream. JONGHO'S WANDERING: In a video they did, jh explained how he used to be in a lot of sports back in school and was really good at it (explains his super strength), he said that playing sports was his first dream but in the section he was badly injured and he decided to give up basketball (the ball almost making it was how close he was to reaching his dream but eventually fell short) despite being so passionate about it, I believe that it was then he developed his passion for music and performing. Which lead him to ateez, however, now that he knows what it feels like to lose a dream because of an injury, he’s very concerned about the health of his members. When he and Mingi fought in his section (I’m giving their fight in mg's section a different meaning to their fight in jh's)it represented how jh felt when mg was going through his injury late last year. He was scared that his friend would have to go through what he did w his first dream. Jh did also hurt his leg late last year/early this year where he had to perform sitting down. I believe that he was so scared that a repeat of of what happened to his first dream would happen and that he’s have to give it yet again. Hence the burning court. MINGI'S DIARY: Mingi's was harder to find connections in just his background so I tried to relate it to not only him but us Atinys as well. Mg was always someone who wanted to be alone because being around others just never worked for him. When he joined ateez he was able to finally let his guard down and be part of a group. There are so many people who feel like outcasts and who would much rather live in their own world alone rather than face the harsh realities of the real one; And although we've found a place where we can be a free, where there is a piece of happiness, mg and jh's fight showed how sometimes the negative feelings will return and we’d want to live in our own world once again because it’s our comfort. But like the lyric “Maybe we're living younger, that’s why we're fever.” We can’t dwell in the past because that’ll only give us pain. We have to allow ourselves to move forward to truly be happy. ENDING: The entire time the hourglass has been reversing, representing the ability to have more time. The members approaching HJ not only represented HJ not being alone anymore but also the fact that because they all joined ateez, each member has a chance to overcome the part of their life that made them the most unhappy. - If you decide to repost pls give credit thank you :D

So we have Hongjoong who lost everything, Seonghwa who’s looking for something, Wooyoung who was too late, Yeosang who wanted to be someone outside of the expectations of adults, San who wanted stability, Yunho who wanted to carry out his brother’s dream but lost the chance, Jongho who gave up on his dream, and Mingi who wanted to to live out the days where he felt needed and valued but he threw it away believing he doesn’t need it. Essentially there’s those who are looking for a treasure and those who lost it.
Omg guys, I’ve just realized if ATEEZ main concept is really the Peter Pan story, then maybe Mingi is one of the Lost Boys, Slightly, who were lost by their parents as well as the other Boys. So yeah, ‘he was always alone’ because he didn’t have a family until he went to Wonderland, where he met with Hongjoong ( Peter ) and the others. T _ T And also in the book Slightly was the one who gave Captain Hook the opportunity to poison Peter. Idk maybe Mingi tried to poison HJ and that’s why Jongho hit him here, because he was disappointed in him? And in the book Peter banishes him to Nowhereland, where the banished person’s existence is ignored, so maybe in the Answer MV Mingi with that boat was just traveling to Nowhereland? And here in this Diary MV maybe he is at this dark place?
coming back here after eden confirmed that ateez's music is based on ateez's own experience and/or the environment they grew up on. i know this is related to them somehow in some way but looking at this again and understanding it in a different perspective, it hits home too well.

aaaaahhh I'm starting to understand Mingi's part of the story!!! He says, "I'd rather be alone than encounter the world." So he uses music as a way of escaping reality. When he puts his earbuds on, he transfers from the regular world to an empty world of darkness. This dark world is the loneliness he states he is "used to." When Mingi had a fight with Jongho, instead of talking out their problems, they made matters worse by physically fighting each other. Again, "I'd rather be alone than encounter the world. " He lost his friendship with Jongho because he didn't know how to handle it.
I love how deeply intertwined the lore is, it hypes up the listeners and keeps them intrigued. I mean look, we are all rushing back here because of the bracelet! Their power is insane! No one is doing it like Ateez, and that’s what makes them so unique.

I know you wrote this a year ago, but you writing this pointed something out to me. Every member has some type of background music, except for Hongjoong and Yunho. Those two just had a form of eerie noise in the background of their's. Which honestly makes me wonder if that was for a reason. Like Hong and Yuyu were the first two in the group to join KQ. This just seems interesting to me.

This is my first time watching this as a Babytiny, but this ... the quality, the camerawork, the acting, the message, the storyline ... brilliant, impeccable, exquisite, I just don't regret hopping on board this pirate ship. Thanxx so much, ATEEZ.
Now we know that Yunho's brother on the film had a car accident and fell into a coma. Jongho couldn't let go of his passion with basketball cuz it was his first dream. He felt so lifeless and empty despite trying so hard to hold on. He had a second dream and that is to pursue 'music' together with the members. And the reason why Jongho punched Mingi is becuz Mingi said that he is quiting on their dream of doing music together, he thought that their dream was a luxury and that the time they spent together meant nothing to him and that made Jongho so mad. 'Problems keeps on piling up like laundry' (from the diary booklet) the harsh reality burdened them so much. And slowly each member forgets about their promises together and decided to go their separate ways.

OK so this is my theory: Hongjoong: He must have done something really bad but he is hiding it by staying alone and being reserved. The man in the black mask is none other than his dark past he is trying to hide all the time. Then we can see him in front of many screens. Those screens must be a part of his dark past. Then again we see him in an isolated room. He was talking about his parents and his close ones in that room, so his dark past must be related to his parents but his time is limited as the hourglass is moving on. Seonghwa: He was a boy who lacked confidence and thought that everything is limited but he meets a girl who tells him that nothing is limited as long as you think its limited then its limited. So he crosses his boundary and becomes more confident and rebelling. Wooyoung: He was a boy who suffered from stage fright. So he used to stay alone but then he meets his friends (ateez members) who gives him confidence to go in stage and show them who you are. Then we can see that he is trapped in a room. That means he is again becoming afraid. Again becoming afraid of all those eyes staring at him. He was again becoming afraid that what will people think of him. Yeosang: He was a rich boy with a father who used to keep him in a 24 hours surveillance and he used to feel unfulfilled. But then he meets the ateez members who taught him what real happiness and freedom was. He was kind of like a caged bird, got space but limited until someone let's him out. San: He was a boy who had nowhere to live so he used to settle down wherever he could. When he met the members he was really happy but once again he had to move but he didn't this time, he went back and stayed there. He never really had friends because no one approached him as he had no parents and used to live alone until he met the ateez members. Yunho: He was a boy who suffered from delusions. His brother died a long time ago but he still imagines that his brother is there. Then we find him in a road where he got hit by a car. That is actually his brother got hit by a car but he is imagining it. He became a singer to fulfill his brother's wish. Jongho: He is a physically disabled boy but he loves basketball. He never played basketball because of his leg. When he met the ateez members they gave him hope about his life and leg by making him sing dance and smile. Mingi: He was a bully because he was so lonely. He never really cared about anyone's feelings until he met his members. At a part we see him in a fight with jongho. He must have told jongho something offending because since he once was a bully he forgot how to talk to people who he loves. But inside he truly loves them. In the end we see Hongjoong in a empty room with a hourglass. He was the only one who knew that their time was limited. If they cross the time some sort of consequence can happen. He thought he was alone in this but he was wrong, he was not alone. His members were there beside him. I personally think that all of their dreams a somehow connected. Probably it was destiny that they were suppose to meet. That's it this is my theory. Hope it is interesting. BTW Stan ateez for clear skin and good grades. Thnx for coming to my Ted talk. :-) Edit: After reading some other comments I realised that on Hongjoong's part there the screens were one of block b music video and ateez wonderland. I think those are Hongjoong's dreams of becoming a singer. Block b was probably his inspiration to be a singer and I think he was imagining themselves as idols so that's why he saw those things in the screens.

Wooyoungs section hits hard.. it looks like he’s given everything everyone’s ever asked of him but he was always being denied (the chained door at the end) so he makes a choice and decides to do things his own way (maybe reflecting his choice to leave bighit and join KQ).. on a side note his visuals in this make it seem he’s had to sacrifice his carefree child like persona to become successful. Moral of the story nothing is achieved without sacrifice.
Yunho's part gives me goosebumps. It's like watching a horror movie. And I just realized the text message in Yunho's part and Mingi's part are the exact same time.

I think these short films give us these theory: Seonghwa: His story represents *Lack of confidence* . He always thought that he is not good enough and always gave up whenever people told him that he is not good but he is not like that anymore. He is going to not stop till he achieve his goal. Wooyoung: His story represents *Loneliness* . He never had the courage to do anything alone, he felt nervous on stage which made him not to show his full potential. He always felt alone. But after becoming a part of Ateez he was able to dance with the other members. The others gave him courage and love and he felt like he belonged here so now when he performs alone too he is not nervous he never feels alone because he knows his members got his back even if they are not near. Yunho: His story represents *Guilt* . He guilts himself for something bad happening to his brother/or someone and he thinks it is because of him that, that person was not able to fulfill his dreams. So he pledges to fulfill that person's dream through himself. But he also thinks that it should have been him who should have gotten hurt not that person (as we see at the end a bus/truck almost hit Yunho) Yeosang: His story represents *Burden* . As his father always told him to cross his boundaries. Yeosang always burdened himself with living up to everyone's expectations and formed a wall around him and that's why he never opened up to anyone. But after coming to Ateez he stated to feel the love and support of other members and started to open up a little and started to be happy. San: His story represents *Fear of leaving behind the one you love* . As we saw in the story San was moving from his house in the starting. And according to him he moved a lot and had to leave behind a lot of people he cared about and loved. It was always the same. He packed moved and then took the escalator to go down to the airport gate but this time he did not do it. He ran back as he did not want to leave his team and fans behind and took a risk and stayed. Mingi: His story represents *Distrust* . We saw that in the first scene Mingi literally beat the crap out of a man and then he put on some headphones and started to listen to music and suddenly was transported to a room where just one spotlight was shining on him. It means that he just trusts one thing and that is his music. After coming to Ateez he became the fun guy of the team and always showed us a sweet baby boy but in reality it is not true. He needs a lot of time to trust someone and open up to them. This is the truth behind the beautiful smile of Mingi. Jongho: His story represents *Losing of hope* . Jongho used to basketball and we know that he said to us that if he would not be a member of Ateez he would be a sportsman. But due to some incident he had to forget his dream of becoming a sportsman. The other thing that he love is singing and that's why he became a kpop idol but due to his leg injury he is not able to dance and just sit awkwardly on the stage singing while the others dance. He thinks that he needs to leave this dream too but his members are giving him a little hope time to time which is helping him to push forward. Hongjoong: His story represents *Chance* . It seemed like he losed everything his dreams, his friends and even his family. He was stuck in a dimension alone. But suddenly a person came(I think it was Dark Hongjoong from another dimension) and gave him an hourglass which was empty (which means Hongjoong's time is up and he is going to die) but suddenly the hourglass started to fill which means the time is going backwards. Giving Hongjoong another chance to live and fix everything. He brought all the dimensions together and made them one. And everyone came back. As we all know 8 makes 1 team so 8 dimensions makes 1 world. This theory is what I think. What do you guys think? Can I be right? 😁
*My theory :* They're alone in 8 dimensions until they met each other. However their friendship is getting shattered. They left one by one, the last one might be Wooyoung since the place has been closed down. Woo late as Hongjoong already travelled back in time using the cromer given by Fedora man (Halateez). "This is the story where their dimensions are *split into 8 pieces again.* " Hongjoong start their time again as all of the members gathered back at the warehouse. They are together now, in Fireworks they're preparing for a battle. The masked man start tracking them. ATEEZ confronted Halateez in SMN n HalaHala, wooyoung might be two-faced as he's 'killing' everyone behind their back in HalaHala. Halateez eventually help them finding their treasure, but getting trapped in their illusion/dream by the masked man. The guy want them feels the illusion as if a paradise, as Ateez can't tell the reality. Halateez stand tall at the end of the cave/time machine, leading Ateez to go back to reality n travel. Their inner selves (Halateez) whispered 'open your eyes' n they did wake up in wave. They're now almost arrive at their target dream, Woo's ego/demon getting chained. They finally be able to go through the large gate in Wonderland MV. They get their answer, the MV briefly shows their journey (mirror, clock, snow, palace, the desert, sea, time machine). ATEEZ & Halateez celebrate their success of finding the treasure, n travel back to their previous timeline. The way SAN’s part killed me... I literally started sobbing when he said “do I have to say farewell to my friends again” cuz i moved a lot growing up... idk it kinda reminded me of my life and it made me sad. ATINYS OUR BOYS DESERVE A WIN !! We need to get them a win 😭😭😭 let’s work hard ATINY !!

Mingi's made me cry...my diary is like that. I was alone and then Someone found me who loved me and we had many good memories. I messed up and fought with Them. Now I literally put my headphones back on so I can't hear them. "I was always alone anyway"... thinking I'm okay without Them. 💔
That's me too but for my case it was them accusing me with stuffs and breaking me when I tried so hard to collect myself I was only social in that one year after that walls became high up again with every single tie cut down from everyone
So if I may add my theory here : I think Yunho's brother is actually Jongho (because we see him playing the guitar like Yunho's brother did) and somehow at some point Yunho Accidentally caused the fight between Mingi and Jongho (the time on the phone with the message) after which Jongho ran off and got hit by a truck and injured his leg so bad that the doctors told him he wouldn't be able to play basketball or dance anymore. After that it became too painful for him to be with his friend as it reminded him of his broken dreams so he left them which made Yunho feel guilty and thus he left the group as well. And at the same time Mingi felt betrayed when Jongho attacked him and decided he was better off alone. As for the others I think San just moved away and couldn't stay connected with his friends somehow (maybe bc they were already starting to split each in their own direction at the time direction). Seonghwa I think he felt he was not good enough for them or maybe that he should have been able to find a way to keep his friends from going their own way (all the papers on the board could be his attempts at finding a solution) and by doing so he somehow got stuck into a vicious cycle that lead him to "trap" himself away from his friends by trying so hard to keep them all together. Yeosang I think he was forced to leave them by someone (not necessarily his father since he said that he always pushed him to reach out for his dreams) a'd he obeyed bc he was scared of disappointing said someone. As for Wooyoung honestly I'm not sure maybe when the others started to fight he got scared he would be left alone again so he left his friends to avoid that but realised that he was wrong only by then it was already too late and the group had already split completely (closed doors) and there was nothing to go back to. A'd as for Hongjoong I think he's just the victim of it all, that one guy who was here from the start and saw all his friends leave one by one without being able to do anything and who couldn't move on as if time had stopped after he lost his friends. Please let me know what you think I really love hearing other people's point of view and theories!
i think this is a pretty good theory, however, in yunho’s part the actual korean that he is speaking uses ‘hyung’ when talking about his brother so it means it must be an older brother, so essentially it cannot be jongho because he is younger than him
I love this theory. But I think for Wooyoung he said that as long as he has his friend he can do it (dance etc anything ) but seeing his friends go he felt like he lost his reason for being who he was and to stop himself from getting hurt he leaves and then goes to parts of your theory :)

Dont know why but Mingi's part broke me. It wasn't about friendship like the other ones, it was about being lonely and in pain. And the part "i was always alone anyway" just smashed my heart because I am in the situation like this, my friend ended our friendship and im not even sad because "i was always alone anyway"
Ikr. Mingi’s part was deep and I started tearing up when he said “I was always alone anyway” and when he put in his earphones and said “the world is mine now” was so deep and relatable and idk why people aren’t talking about his part because his part was AMAZING, relatable, and deep.🔥❤️
I don't know why people are hating on this. I'm an Army and I in no way think they are copying anybody. I love ATEEZ's music and I love the boys 'cause they all seem so genuine and fun and hardworking. And this comeback is so interesting. Especially with this storyline. Do you know how much efforts must have been put into this to build it. A fucking lot. Years of being an Army have made me appreciate people working behind the scenes to build such an interesting concept. Please don't bash on them. This is so fucking cool. I can't wait for their comeback. I'm so curious about what is happening. I'm not entirely an Atiny yet but I absolutely adore the boys. I did watch their content such as Hello 82, Wanted, Treasure and they are hilarious. They have a different sound with their music and I'm fucking vibing with it. Hwaiting ATEEZ and Atinys! ♥️

Simple theory: there was a group of 8 boys. All with different past stories, regrets and fears. as those 8 boys find each other and become one, everything stopped. Their fears, regrets and even pasts we're all less traumatic. They became happy because of each other and they need each other so the Happiness won't fade. so theory: the universe was complete for a while but then gor divided into 8 dimensions, one for each member of Ateez. they were all trapped inside that dimension and learned that they only felt happy when they were together, they each had to learn or do one thing to break through and make the dimensions one again (wooyoung had to overcome stage fright, yunho had to face what happened to his brother, seongwha needed to find freedom etc.). when they all come together again, they experienced happiness, but it didn’t last long. mingi and jonho both didn’t overcome their fears (jonho fears failure because of his leg injury and mingi fears falling into depression again) and they got into a fight because of that, and maybe that’s when they get seperated into their demensions and have to complete these things. a possibility is also that they’re trapped in a loop, they complete everything (except mingi and jonho), come together and a fight happens and everything starts over. if that’s the case, the very last scene can be the moment where they finally break through the loop. this is literally all over the place i’m sorry, these were just my thoughts about it and i’m still very confused update: i’m working everything out now and trying to get a full story that fits, my instagram is @b3autiful_strang3r , i’ll be posting my full story there

I've cried so many times throughout the whole film, these boys have such a big place in my heart :’))
I also couldn’t help myself and I came up with theories regarding each member's section. I could be really wrong lmao but nonetheless I had fun coming up with these!! (I also mention some of their backgrounds and I am unsure if all of the info is correct)
HONGJOONG'S DREAM: He explained in a KQ fellas video that he spent the majority of his time in the studio, meaning that he didn’t have much time for his friends and family and he felt that it was like living in a completely different world from everyone else and he was alone.
SEONGHWA'S MEMORY: There is an old video of SH saying how he really didn’t like who he was and he would constantly try to hide his face. Looking back at it now, maybe the thing that he was missing was the ability to love and believe in himself. Now that he's a part of ateez and he sees the many people who love him his confidence has really come out.
WOOYOUNG'S CHOICE: wy used to be trainee in another company alongside yeosang but ys eventually left leaving wy alone. In his section it showed how he was scared to pursue his dream because of the fear of being looked down upon by the community. In a vlive us mentioned how wy left their company to go to KQ and when asked why was because he made a promise to ys that they would debut together. Wy now had one of his best friends by his side to support him and he also met 6 other members who would become his best of friends to help him overcome his fears and see that so many people out there love him.
YEOSANG'S TIME: As I mentioned ys and wy previously trained in another company. In his part, it looked like he lacked any sort of freedom. Ys is incredibly passionate about his artistry but he felt like he was wasting time in a place where he couldn’t live freely like he was stuck, trapped. So he quit. When the violin dropped and the birds flew free it was symbolizing him finally being able to live without restraint and pressuring reputation to live up to. He was able to be himself and let loose. It was a chance for him to fall in love with his passion once again.
SAN'S RESOLUTION: In his section he explained how he would constantly move a lot, I’m assuming it’s because of his parent's work. Because he moved, he didn’t have very many friends, his only close friends were his grandparents, who he explained in a KQ fellaz video that he felt closer to than he did his parents. He picked up a pair of shoes which I believe symbolizes the walks that his grandparents would invite him on. Now that he is a part of Ateez he feels a sense of stability, something permanent, because he now has an incredible group of friends. But he still has his doubts whether it really is permanent. I believe the escalator represents his life, as it is constantly taking him in one direction without much control as to where he's going. But when he decides to turn back and counter the flow of the escalator, it’s like he's saying that he's done being pushed down a path, he's happy where he is and he is willing to work against life (escalator) to stay with ateez. (Also peep the shoes which gave him strength)
YUNHO AND HIS BROTHER: This one is gonna be one hell of a stretch but here it is. YH does have a younger brother and in the section it showed broken instruments and a messy ,suicidal room. He also said how it was “his fault” and that he was going to make his brother's dream come true. I'm guessing that his brother wanted to become and idol as well but we’ll know how difficult and complicated becoming an idol is. Maybe his family could only allow/afford one of their kids to become an idol. The train hitting him could represent how his brother felt when he felt his dreams shatter. Now that yh is an idol (a powerful one ;)) ) he will do whatever he can to support his brother's dream.
JONGHO'S WANDERING: In a video they did, jh explained how he used to be in a lot of sports back in school and was really good at it (explains his super strength), he said that playing sports was his first dream but in the section he was badly injured and he decided to give up basketball (the ball almost making it was how close he was to reaching his dream but eventually fell short) despite being so passionate about it, I believe that it was then he developed his passion for music and performing. Which lead him to ateez, however, now that he knows what it feels like to lose a dream because of an injury, he’s very concerned about the health of his members. When he and Mingi fought in his section (I’m giving their fight in mg's section a different meaning to their fight in jh's)it represented how jh felt when mg was going through his injury late last year. He was scared that his friend would have to go through what he did w his first dream. Jh did also hurt his leg late last year/early this year where he had to perform sitting down. I believe that he was so scared that a repeat of of what happened to his first dream would happen and that he’s have to give it yet again. Hence the burning court.
MINGI'S DIARY: Mingi's was harder to find connections in just his background so I tried to relate it to not only him but us Atinys as well. Mg was always someone who wanted to be alone because being around others just never worked for him. When he joined ateez he was able to finally let his guard down and be part of a group. There are so many people who feel like outcasts and who would much rather live in their own world alone rather than face the harsh realities of the real one; And although we've found a place where we can be a free, where there is a piece of happiness, mg and jh's fight showed how sometimes the negative feelings will return and we’d want to live in our own world once again because it’s our comfort. But like the lyric “Maybe we're living younger, that’s why we're fever.” We can’t dwell in the past because that’ll only give us pain. We have to allow ourselves to move forward to truly be happy.
ENDING: The entire time the hourglass has been reversing, representing the ability to have more time. The members approaching HJ not only represented HJ not being alone anymore but also the fact that because they all joined ateez, each member has a chance to overcome the part of their life that made them the most unhappy.

Omg guys, I’ve just realized if ATEEZ main concept is really the Peter Pan story, then maybe Mingi is one of the Lost Boys, Slightly, who were lost by their parents as well as the other Boys. So yeah, ‘he was always alone’ because he didn’t have a family until he went to Wonderland, where he met with Hongjoong ( Peter ) and the others. T _ T And also in the book Slightly was the one who gave Captain Hook the opportunity to poison Peter. Idk maybe Mingi tried to poison HJ and that’s why Jongho hit him here, because he was disappointed in him? And in the book Peter banishes him to Nowhereland, where the banished person’s existence is ignored, so maybe in the Answer MV Mingi with that boat was just traveling to Nowhereland? And here in this Diary MV maybe he is at this dark place?

When Mingi had a fight with Jongho, instead of talking out their problems, they made matters worse by physically fighting each other. Again, "I'd rather be alone than encounter the world. " He lost his friendship with Jongho because he didn't know how to handle it.

Now we know that Yunho's brother on the film had a car accident and fell into a coma.
Jongho couldn't let go of his passion with basketball cuz it was his first dream. He felt so lifeless and empty despite trying so hard to hold on. He had a second dream and that is to pursue 'music' together with the members.
And the reason why Jongho punched Mingi is becuz Mingi said that he is quiting on their dream of doing music together, he thought that their dream was a luxury and that the time they spent together meant nothing to him and that made Jongho so mad.
'Problems keeps on piling up like laundry' (from the diary booklet) the harsh reality burdened them so much. And slowly each member forgets about their promises together and decided to go their separate ways.
Yunho's brother is in coma? I thought he was dead

OK so this is my theory:
Hongjoong: He must have done something really bad but he is hiding it by staying alone and being reserved. The man in the black mask is none other than his dark past he is trying to hide all the time. Then we can see him in front of many screens. Those screens must be a part of his dark past. Then again we see him in an isolated room. He was talking about his parents and his close ones in that room, so his dark past must be related to his parents but his time is limited as the hourglass is moving on.
Seonghwa: He was a boy who lacked confidence and thought that everything is limited but he meets a girl who tells him that nothing is limited as long as you think its limited then its limited. So he crosses his boundary and becomes more confident and rebelling.
Wooyoung: He was a boy who suffered from stage fright. So he used to stay alone but then he meets his friends (ateez members) who gives him confidence to go in stage and show them who you are. Then we can see that he is trapped in a room. That means he is again becoming afraid. Again becoming afraid of all those eyes staring at him. He was again becoming afraid that what will people think of him.
Yeosang: He was a rich boy with a father who used to keep him in a 24 hours surveillance and he used to feel unfulfilled. But then he meets the ateez members who taught him what real happiness and freedom was. He was kind of like a caged bird, got space but limited until someone let's him out.
San: He was a boy who had nowhere to live so he used to settle down wherever he could. When he met the members he was really happy but once again he had to move but he didn't this time, he went back and stayed there. He never really had friends because no one approached him as he had no parents and used to live alone until he met the ateez members.
Yunho: He was a boy who suffered from delusions. His brother died a long time ago but he still imagines that his brother is there. Then we find him in a road where he got hit by a car. That is actually his brother got hit by a car but he is imagining it. He became a singer to fulfill his brother's wish.
Jongho: He is a physically disabled boy but he loves basketball. He never played basketball because of his leg. When he met the ateez members they gave him hope about his life and leg by making him sing dance and smile.
Mingi: He was a bully because he was so lonely. He never really cared about anyone's feelings until he met his members. At a part we see him in a fight with jongho. He must have told jongho something offending because since he once was a bully he forgot how to talk to people who he loves. But inside he truly loves them.
In the end we see Hongjoong in a empty room with a hourglass. He was the only one who knew that their time was limited. If they cross the time some sort of consequence can happen. He thought he was alone in this but he was wrong, he was not alone. His members were there beside him.
I personally think that all of their dreams a somehow connected. Probably it was destiny that they were suppose to meet.
That's it this is my theory. Hope it is interesting. BTW Stan ateez for clear skin and good grades. Thnx for coming to my Ted talk. :-)
Edit: After reading some other comments I realised that on Hongjoong's part there the screens were one of block b music video and ateez wonderland. I think those are Hongjoong's dreams of becoming a singer. Block b was probably his inspiration to be a singer and I think he was imagining themselves as idols so that's why he saw those things in the screens.
Fun fact: This is the first comment that I can understand clearly about the whole Ateez theory things. And this comment need more likes for real!

Wooyoungs section hits hard.. it looks like he’s given everything everyone’s ever asked of him but he was always being denied (the chained door at the end) so he makes a choice and decides to do things his own way (maybe reflecting his choice to leave bighit and join KQ).. on a side note his visuals in this make it seem he’s had to sacrifice his carefree child like persona to become successful. Moral of the story nothing is achieved without sacrifice.

I think these short films give us these theory:
Seonghwa: His story represents *Lack of confidence* . He always thought that he is not good enough and always gave up whenever people told him that he is not good but he is not like that anymore. He is going to not stop till he achieve his goal.
Wooyoung: His story represents *Loneliness* . He never had the courage to do anything alone, he felt nervous on stage which made him not to show his full potential. He always felt alone. But after becoming a part of Ateez he was able to dance with the other members. The others gave him courage and love and he felt like he belonged here so now when he performs alone too he is not nervous he never feels alone because he knows his members got his back even if they are not near.
Yunho: His story represents *Guilt* . He guilts himself for something bad happening to his brother/or someone and he thinks it is because of him that, that person was not able to fulfill his dreams. So he pledges to fulfill that person's dream through himself. But he also thinks that it should have been him who should have gotten hurt not that person (as we see at the end a bus/truck almost hit Yunho)
Yeosang: His story represents *Burden* . As his father always told him to cross his boundaries. Yeosang always burdened himself with living up to everyone's expectations and formed a wall around him and that's why he never opened up to anyone. But after coming to Ateez he stated to feel the love and support of other members and started to open up a little and started to be happy.
San: His story represents *Fear of leaving behind the one you love* . As we saw in the story San was moving from his house in the starting. And according to him he moved a lot and had to leave behind a lot of people he cared about and loved. It was always the same. He packed moved and then took the escalator to go down to the airport gate but this time he did not do it. He ran back as he did not want to leave his team and fans behind and took a risk and stayed.
Mingi: His story represents *Distrust* . We saw that in the first scene Mingi literally beat the crap out of a man and then he put on some headphones and started to listen to music and suddenly was transported to a room where just one spotlight was shining on him. It means that he just trusts one thing and that is his music. After coming to Ateez he became the fun guy of the team and always showed us a sweet baby boy but in reality it is not true. He needs a lot of time to trust someone and open up to them. This is the truth behind the beautiful smile of Mingi.
Jongho: His story represents *Losing of hope* . Jongho used to basketball and we know that he said to us that if he would not be a member of Ateez he would be a sportsman. But due to some incident he had to forget his dream of becoming a sportsman. The other thing that he love is singing and that's why he became a kpop idol but due to his leg injury he is not able to dance and just sit awkwardly on the stage singing while the others dance. He thinks that he needs to leave this dream too but his members are giving him a little hope time to time which is helping him to push forward.
Hongjoong: His story represents *Chance* . It seemed like he losed everything his dreams, his friends and even his family. He was stuck in a dimension alone. But suddenly a person came(I think it was Dark Hongjoong from another dimension) and gave him an hourglass which was empty (which means Hongjoong's time is up and he is going to die) but suddenly the hourglass started to fill which means the time is going backwards. Giving Hongjoong another chance to live and fix everything. He brought all the dimensions together and made them one. And everyone came back. As we all know 8 makes 1 team so 8 dimensions makes 1 world.

*My theory :*
They're alone in 8 dimensions until they met each other. However their friendship is getting shattered. They left one by one, the last one might be Wooyoung since the place has been closed down. Woo late as Hongjoong already travelled back in time using the cromer given by Fedora man (Halateez).
"This is the story where their dimensions are *split into 8 pieces again.* "
Hongjoong start their time again as all of the members gathered back at the warehouse.
They are together now, in Fireworks they're preparing for a battle. The masked man start tracking them. ATEEZ confronted Halateez in SMN n HalaHala, wooyoung might be two-faced as he's 'killing' everyone behind their back in HalaHala. Halateez eventually help them finding their treasure, but getting trapped in their illusion/dream by the masked man. The guy want them feels the illusion as if a paradise, as Ateez can't tell the reality. Halateez stand tall at the end of the cave/time machine, leading Ateez to go back to reality n travel. Their inner selves (Halateez) whispered 'open your eyes' n they did wake up in wave. They're now almost arrive at their target dream, Woo's ego/demon getting chained. They finally be able to go through the large gate in Wonderland MV. They get their answer, the MV briefly shows their journey (mirror, clock, snow, palace, the desert, sea, time machine). ATEEZ & Halateez celebrate their success of finding the treasure, n travel back to their previous timeline. The masked man left alone at the palace as he only left with shattered mirror n spyglass.

The way SAN’s part killed me... I literally started sobbing when he said “do I have to say farewell to my friends again” cuz i moved a lot growing up... idk it kinda reminded me of my life and it made me sad.

yea...i really cried while watching this video...
So if I may add my theory here :
I think Yunho's brother is actually Jongho (because we see him playing the guitar like Yunho's brother did) and somehow at some point Yunho Accidentally caused the fight between Mingi and Jongho (the time on the phone with the message) after which Jongho ran off and got hit by a truck and injured his leg so bad that the doctors told him he wouldn't be able to play basketball or dance anymore. After that it became too painful for him to be with his friend as it reminded him of his broken dreams so he left them which made Yunho feel guilty and thus he left the group as well. And at the same time Mingi felt betrayed when Jongho attacked him and decided he was better off alone.
As for the others I think San just moved away and couldn't stay connected with his friends somehow (maybe bc they were already starting to split each in their own direction at the time direction). Seonghwa I think he felt he was not good enough for them or maybe that he should have been able to find a way to keep his friends from going their own way (all the papers on the board could be his attempts at finding a solution) and by doing so he somehow got stuck into a vicious cycle that lead him to "trap" himself away from his friends by trying so hard to keep them all together.
Yeosang I think he was forced to leave them by someone (not necessarily his father since he said that he always pushed him to reach out for his dreams) a'd he obeyed bc he was scared of disappointing said someone. As for Wooyoung honestly I'm not sure maybe when the others started to fight he got scared he would be left alone again so he left his friends to avoid that but realised that he was wrong only by then it was already too late and the group had already split completely (closed doors) and there was nothing to go back to. A'd as for Hongjoong I think he's just the victim of it all, that one guy who was here from the start and saw all his friends leave one by one without being able to do anything and who couldn't move on as if time had stopped after he lost his friends.

i think this is a pretty good theory, however, in yunho’s part the actual korean that he is speaking uses ‘hyung’ when talking about his brother so it means it must be an older brother, so essentially it cannot be jongho because he is younger than him
I love this theory. But I think for Wooyoung he said that as long as he has his friend he can do it (dance etc anything ) but seeing his friends go he felt like he lost his reason for being who he was and to stop himself from getting hurt he leaves and then goes to parts of your theory :)

Dont know why but Mingi's part broke me. It wasn't about friendship like the other ones, it was about being lonely and in pain. And the part "i was always alone anyway" just smashed my heart because I am in the situation like this, my friend ended our friendship and im not even sad because "i was always alone anyway"

I love ATEEZ's music and I love the boys 'cause they all seem so genuine and fun and hardworking. And this comeback is so interesting. Especially with this storyline. Do you know how much efforts must have been put into this to build it. A fucking lot. Years of being an Army have made me appreciate people working behind the scenes to build such an interesting concept. Please don't bash on them. This is so fucking cool. I can't wait for their comeback. I'm so curious about what is happening. I'm not entirely an Atiny yet but I absolutely adore the boys. I did watch their content such as Hello 82, Wanted, Treasure and they are hilarious. They have a different sound with their music and I'm fucking vibing with it. Hwaiting ATEEZ and Atinys! ♥️

Simple theory: there was a group of 8 boys. All with different past stories, regrets and fears. as those 8 boys find each other and become one, everything stopped. Their fears, regrets and even pasts we're all less traumatic. They became happy because of each other and they need each other so the Happiness won't fade. Any second or minute the boys aren't with each other, their fears will come back to them.
In conclusion: Ateez is Ateez's own happiness and they need each other to feel something no fear nor regrets and past mistakes can take away

so theory:
the universe was complete for a while but then gor divided into 8 dimensions, one for each member of Ateez. they were all trapped inside that dimension and learned that they only felt happy when they were together, they each had to learn or do one thing to break through and make the dimensions one again (wooyoung had to overcome stage fright, yunho had to face what happened to his brother, seongwha needed to find freedom etc.).
when they all come together again, they experienced happiness, but it didn’t last long. mingi and jonho both didn’t overcome their fears (jonho fears failure because of his leg injury and mingi fears falling into depression again) and they got into a fight because of that, and maybe that’s when they get seperated into their demensions and have to complete these things. a possibility is also that they’re trapped in a loop, they complete everything (except mingi and jonho), come together and a fight happens and everything starts over. if that’s the case, the very last scene can be the moment where they finally break through the loop.
this is literally all over the place i’m sorry, these were just my thoughts about it and i’m still very confused
