+Quitwastingyourtimereadingmylongassusername they put obstacles to kill targets in interesting ways but if u kill someone who isnt ur target u feel bad
I started loud and killed the head of Chinatown and got 20k with being searched and I just left like nothing happened lol I still hate that score system tho
said what you want about absolution, but I don't have a single problem with this game, also have the most cohesive story, the best story in fact and to the people who complain so much about this game, purists in particular who like me adore blood money, turn the hold hands features off, problem solved
I prefer this Aussie guy's reviews to the American guys at IGN who are totally out of touch with gaming. They spend too much time at conventions previewing games and feel a sense of entitlement when studios don't modify games to be exactly what they want from preview to release. This guy is much more fair. Also, very cool looking game that has held up well... I think maybe the engine is the same as the one used in Deus Ex as it reminds me of it. Either way I'm going to be picking this one up since it's on sale now. Can't wait!
it didnt work on my old pc back then , so im replaying the series from the start and i got here and i gotta say it rocks , playing blood money left me so nostalgic with that opera starting music
Hitman Absolution was a good game in its own right, but compared to the other Hitman games it wasn't very good. There were a couple of things I didn't like, such as not having the traditional map that you could bring up at the touch of a button and see what every single person was doing and where they were in real time and also the disguise system not being as effective as the past games. The way everybody could detect you whilst wearing a disguise really irritated me sometimes. Other than that though it was a fairly decent game.
You know, my main problem with IGN reviews, is that they always assume you know about earlier games in the series. They don't review the game fully and explain things, for people that's new to the series. I've never played a Hitman game in my life, and Absolution is apparently free on April 1st, so I wanted a nice review of it to sorta explain what it is and stuff. But this didn't help me at all. The only good this review did for me, was show some gameplay video.
***** I get that, but the review, should be a review of the game as a whole. Not a review of some of the stuff because they assume you know the older games.
***** The problem is that.. yes the reviewer goes over all of this stuff. But most of it isn't fully gone over. It's only compared to previous games in the series. It wasn't gone over enough to understand anything about it, unless you knew enough about the game beforehand from previous Hitman games. Not everyone that's going to watch a review, has played the previous games. The only reason to really look up a review, is to hear about how the game is. Hear about the features of the game, and how they work and stuff. In this case, the review was almost entirely pointless for me, and anyone else that's new to Hitman, because I(we) don't really know anything about the other Hitman games. If the reviewer would have went over the stuff in a bit more detail, it would have been fine. But when doing a review, it's best to take into consideration, the fact that not everyone's played the rest of the series. In fact, that's one of the main reasons I looked for a review.. to find out what the game's like since I've never really played a Hitman game. I'm sure the review is fine if you've played the other Hitman games though..
Dude it's in the fucking title "hitman" what is a,hitman a hitman is an assassin that takes on contracts for profit (money) while working for the government/agency nothing else.
You people seem to be missing my point. When I was saying "My problem with IGN reviews is-".. I meant more than just the Hitman review. They do the same thing with other reviews to. They assume you know about the previous games. Not everyone's play the previous games. A good review should be helpful, whether you know about the previous games in the series or not.
***** You people just don't get what I mean. I don't mean he has to review the ENTIRE series. But you have to figure, some people that see a review like this, is going to be new to the series. So explaining the game in a bit more detail would help. It's not that big of a deal..tiny bit more detail is all that's needed. Instead, they half-explain things, expecting you to already know how it works. "Oh, it's not quite as good as it was in previous hitman games" or "It's definitely better than the previous hitman games". Well I don't know how it was in previous games, how exactly am I supposed to understand how good or bad it is in this one? If he said "This is why it's good and/or bad" and explained properly, instead of just saying it's better, worse, or different than other hitman games, I would have understood.
This was my game of the year for that year. It was incredible. I've recently purchased the trilogy and playing through 2. Whilst it's a lot more difficult than absolution its also very good still. :-)
crowds in Hitman really impressed me, high fps and all... Nice game overall, many different approaches to the objectives verifiability is what makes this game -very- special.
Its a brilliant game if your new to the series and still good if youve played the others. Im new to the series and was put off by the mixed opinions. Decided to give it a try and I really like. The contracts mode makes it almost endless depending on other players skill and techniques as they set your murder goals. Good production value and the harder modes are crazy hard if you like a challenge. Ive never been interested in this series but gave this a try and liked it, reminds me of manhunt!!
The 3 things that didn't work for me in this game was: You didn't get the feel of yourself blending in like a slick assassin, but more like you're hiding from everyone and being dependent of hugging the walls all the time. The second thing was the lack of freedom and roaming the maps, and those stupid checkpoints (Thats not a Hitman game, but more like a Splinter Cell game). And the last thing is the goddamn "invisible pockets". The fact that Agent 47 can pull out a 50 cal. sniper out of his suit jacket, just pulls me out of the game completely. Hope the new Hitman game won't apply these 3 elements into it :)
I love this game! When I first started I restarted 10 times on each contract because I kept getting rumbled, but now I glide through the levels and really enjoy it. I'm coming to the end of part 2 and really enjoying the stealth and sneaking.
Minus a whole point for disguises? It should be at least a 9.5 from all the reviews I've seen. Downloaded it last night with games with gold and about to hop on and play it!
Blood Money and the games before it did not have a minimap. They had an awesome map system. This game looks too linear, and giving it a higher score than Blood Money was a big mistake. But...if what this guy said about the contracts mode is true...then it may not be a bad Hitman game after all. Is it true that contracts brings back the Blood Money style in?
This is the best Hitman. Amazing story, amazing gameplay, amazing ending that sets up future games, amazing graphics, a comptete masterpiece. Alas! IO didn't continue this amazing storyline.
This game is such utter fail. Fairwell stalking mission areas looking to make the perfect kill, hello evading cops whilst trying to exit mission areas. I'm serious, there are entire missions where you do nothing but walk around trying to find exits. Worst hitman yet.
Very disappointed with this game. Square-Enix don't really seem to understand the things that made the hitman series great. Where are the massive sand-box levels? Why have they made it so that nearly every disguise you wear is useless? The only decent level was china town and that's got to be one of the smallest maps in the game. Such a flop!
+Mohd Kumail Square-Enix took over Eidos and IO Interactive after Hitman: Blood Money, so no they're not the same piss lips. Anyway, my point was that Hitman: Absolution missed the mark significantly.
I know this is old by IO Interactive are the people who made the game and Eidos and Square-Enix were there publishers (who give em money to make them games) but Square-Enix bought IO complely off of Eidos.
I have been a huge Hitman fan since forever (my first video game was Hitman it was on the first PC I got and ever since I fell in love with 47's grim world and adventures). I feel like Absolution is being bashed on because people fail to see it objectively. It's true, it's different in pretty much all ways compared to the other 4 (structure, gameplay, story etc) it has more of a hollywood touch to it but I felt that worked amazing as a break from the same old we got ever since the first one. Honestly I really think a game like this was fitting in the series, a story that is more personal to the character than ever. A story that doesn't follow 47's contracts but his assassin skills put to use in order to achieve this personal goal. It has an amazing atmosphere, a great world with its own mythos expanded more than ever, great soundtrack, great voice acting, visuals and ultimately a really interesting story. (for the record my favorite Hitman game still is Blood Money, but Absolution follows as a close second and for the third place Silent Assassin)
no it wasnt gamebreaking but it could have been better to be more suitable based on circumstance. such as a police uniform should have allowed you go where you like since there are so many cops in a city. However, in a small area like a work shop, the instinct meter should be required
Just youtube search "Ave Maria Hitman" and you will find it. It was orignally in Hitman: Blood Money and came back in Absolution. Wonderful and relaxing song!
9 ? Yeah right. I'd give it a 6 Max. What ruined the game was how wearing "costumes" immediately made you suspicious to others wearing the same clothing. Another annoyance was how the levels were not entirely Open World scenarios such as Blood money's. This turned the game into a chore and I've passed some of the Blood money missions as a ghost or undetected- day one purchase- day 6 sale -
Luke Donkor I'm sorry but I don't see your point. Are you saying that in order to mainstream the game - its ok that they "dumbed" it down for "most" players ? Is the franchise more popular now because of this game? - (non rhetorical).
What I'm saying is that because the mainstream already HAS been dumbed down in order to appeal to a 'dumbed down' mainstream audience they developers had to add action movie like pieces to the games instead of keeping to the pure creativity that hitman once was
Bloodmoney >>> Absolution. Absolution isn't a "bad" game on it's own, but it's not a true Hitman game. It's definitely a BIG step backwards for the series with it's generic linear gameplay. Anyone who has ever played BM will tell your the same.
At least it's a better disguise system than the disguises donned during certain mission of AC:III. In AC:III, higher ups of the redcoats will get suspicious of you and start coming towards you, if you get within 30 feet of their line of sight. If they get too close, they will immediately discover that you are an imposter. I mean, shit, they probably got new recruits every now and again back then - I would understand if they just went "I haven't seen you around before - are you new here?"
i loved this game sooo much. and yes i did played blood money and it was not that great.i liked the scoring system, the dialogs and its less open so i was waisting less time wondering around and knew exactly what to do and where i need to go.the combat and the movement were also good.just a fun game overall :)
From what I have gathered, since I haven't played it yet but read and watched a ton about it, it seems like the levels are quite large and generally "open." Much like the older games, you do have the freedom of choosing whichever way you want to enter an area and kill a target. I prefer in the old games to use the harder means to do so, and this seems to encourage that kind of play. You also, like the old ones, get to collect all found weapons and use them in any other level after completion...
This is sort of like when people complained that you could easily beat Blood Money by just gunning down everyone. Sure, you could do that - but for a lot of fans of the series, the satisfaction comes from getting through the level like a ghost. In Absolution, you only get that meter filled by knocking people out, getting headshots etc. and it runs out fast. If you try to get through each level while taking out as few people as possible, you have to do some hardcore sneaking.
You didn’t like garrote straight into drag, the ability to sprint while crouching, hiding in bins, subdue with bare hands, and being able to put two bodies into dumps instead of one?
i really hope they come out with a disguise fix, id even pay for it as DLC.. maybe 4.99$-9.99$ its that much of a problem, (just make them scaleable so not everyone can detect you with the same amount of awareness)
I don't have gold anymore (switch to ps4) i just use my friend's account to license transfer and download the game free of charge...*Because sharing is caring*
I think the point that IO was trying to make is that the main protagonist is a powerful bald assassin with a deadly look that stands out from the normal desk jockey that you might have stolen the disguise from. It is not stupid, it's just realistically hard.
Very frustrating that silent assassin rating is not possible on all levels. kind of ruined the game for me that and the levels are far to liner than the old hitman games.
I just ordered this game for £20. I have never played a Hitman game before, but love stealth games and the type of 'get in get out' games without being seen. Have I made a good choice?
hitman absolution is bad compared to other games in the series its a hitman game for people who think the hitman series is boring and slow. i think its to easy and punishes you for everything even knocking someone out
Super Man Played Blood Money? That was, in my view, the pinnacle of Hitman. Where levels were actual sandboxes, with enough freedom, to observe, plan and tackle the level in many ways(and I'm not talking about scripted kills, you ACTUALLY could plan a kill in that game) unlike Absolutions' levels, which are tiny sandboxes, tiny tiny. However, I don't think Hitman Absolution is a bad game, no way, I'd give it an 7 or an 8/10, but it's just not a good hitman game, mostly because of smaller levels, too much story, stupid checkpoint system(which furthers my theory of the game lacking tactical aspects), and worst of all the disguise system(in previous games, it might not have been as realistic, but it allowed you to scout out the level and target patterns and stuff(again tactical elements)). Basically what happened to hitman is modernism, they wanted to make it accessible. Funny. Because I think all of hitman games are quite accessible, if they weren't they wouldn't have a fan base as big as it is today, so they didn't need to dumb it down further. Let's just hope the new one brings back the things that Absolution lacked.
Reiji Baloghette I never played it but from watching youtubers play it i did love the levels like that one "house of cards" level. Absolution doesnt have freedom i agree it is a very story driven game but what really got me is all these new sneaking and take cover systems and that slow mo shooting thingy! Also absolution got a i cant remeber was it a 9 or 9.5 from ign go check it out if you dont trust me. They did say the next hitman was going to be more like blood money
I think you got it wrong sir..... Absolution wasn't even technically a Hitman game. The Hitman games are supposed to be a sandbox style with many creative ways to assassinate your target and allows you to bring in equipment and items you have stashed from previous encounters. In Absolution, you got linear levels with tight compact areas with barely anything to explore and only 1 or 2 ways to kill the main target, and there isn't even a target in some missions. I understand the whole running away from Agency thing, but they could've added targets you need to kill every level to stop Dexter from capturing Victoria for money. Now comes to the missions being split into sections...... a Hitman game is supposed to have an open map where you can explore and learn different routes and find out the countless ways to assassinate your target, while in Absolution once you move to one section. Oop, no turning back! And all the flaws is corrected in the new game, with tons and tons of ways to kill your targets, huge open maps with tons of areas to explore, and all in all a Hitman game like the spectacular Blood Money. All this is coming from a Hitman fan who started the series off from Absolution and thought it was the BEST! Now I understand, that I was terribly wrong.. the game had potential but it just doesn't work
JHOT247 depends on what you are looking for,if you want something more straight forward, fast past than max Payne is your answer but if your looking for something more cleaver& stealth like, absolution is the way to go. If you can afford it or save up for it,grab both!!! I'm doing it myself tomorrow,at game stop Payne for ps3 is 2.99& absolution is I believe $12 or 15 bucks.
Jeff Daniels hitman 2016 is fantastic. What are you on about? I liked absolution too. It was just different so people don't like change so they hated it. Blood money is still the best but 2016 comes damn close. The amount of replayability and freedom in that game is astonishing.
Anyone remember what that sniper challenge gave you in game, because I did just about everything in that challenge and didn't remember getting anything specific from it in the actual game?
Talking about the disguise system, if a cop sees another cop that matches the description of the guy they're looking for, of course they will get suspicious. They don't need to know every single guy in the police force to know if there is an imposter.
Juan Gaspard people are still replying to this? & well as I recall you only keep the game for a year or so? I got battle field 3 from there for free like a year ago but it expires in June
Evsbear1 i love this game. i have played blood money and contracts i like all of them. i dont see anything wrong with this one at all i cant wait to try out the new one.
because it completely breaks out of the path of hitman being a created assassin that completes contracts, the missions where you have to go through maps and not have a target also breaks the standard as every hitman game other than absolution always had a target to assassinate and exit. i do like absolution but you know it completely breaks the expectations of the hitman trilogy. i really miss the ability to take a hostage and the gore that doesn't exist in the newer hitmans
this game sucked. the disguise system is ruined. multi-levels for a single contract is not right for a hitman game in my opinion. what's a hitman game if you can't sneak around in the disguises?
It depends on what you want, Hitman: Absolution is mainly a stealth game, but you can go gun blazing if you want. Max Payne 3 is a pure action game, and a pretty awesome one at that. I would personally go for Hitman, i finished it yesterday, and I didn't get that feeling that I had to play it over again (yet i will, but later), it left me without the feeling that something is missing.
It's just a matter of points, you're not going to fail the mission for doing so. And besides, a perfect, clean kill would be one in which only the target is killed and no trace is left.
yes the disguise system is flawed in that way, fully agree. i also agree the reward system is a bit stupid, i don't feel like i should get bonus points for doing all kinds of challenges (like poisoning all foods in a level). if its a clean kill i should get maximum score.. the extra challenges should be for replay value, but not part of the original mission. but i do feel i should get a WAY higher score for a accident with no extra casualties then a murderous rampage with machine guns.
if it werent for that damn scoring system i would enjoy the game much more
I just ignored it, "loud footstep -99999999"
+Quitwastingyourtimereadingmylongassusername they put obstacles to kill targets in interesting ways but if u kill someone who isnt ur target u feel bad

annoying indeed, but it help me to learn stealth game+help me to play/kill better in the game

Honestly its a great game
It's a solid game and it's the first from the hitman series that I played, so I don't get all the hate for it

Thats why im glad i only( and the first game)have this on ps3.

Admit it. The steam summer sale brought you here.
Blood Money is better.
DragonMice true
Johann Badenhorst really ? I thought hitman 2016 came really close to blood money. Not the story but the gameplay itself definitely.
Eh
no it wasnt gamebreaking but it could have been better to be more suitable based on circumstance. such as a police uniform should have allowed you go where you like since there are so many cops in a city. However, in a small area like a work shop, the instinct meter should be required
ah, Ave Maria. How I've missed you...
This is the best hitman I've played
Just youtube search "Ave Maria Hitman" and you will find it. It was orignally in Hitman: Blood Money and came back in Absolution.
Wonderful and relaxing song!
One of the best games I've ever played.
9 ? Yeah right. I'd give it a 6 Max.
What ruined the game was how wearing "costumes" immediately made you suspicious to others wearing the same clothing. Another annoyance was how the levels were not entirely Open World scenarios such as Blood money's. This turned the game into a chore and I've passed some of the Blood money missions as a ghost or undetected- day one purchase- day 6 sale -
But if it was as slow as the originals ( not saying the originals are bad,I love them) most would hate on it
Luke Donkor I'm sorry but I don't see your point. Are you saying that in order to mainstream the game - its ok that they "dumbed" it down for "most" players ?
Is the franchise more popular now because of this game? - (non rhetorical).
What I'm saying is that because the mainstream already HAS been dumbed down in order to appeal to a 'dumbed down' mainstream audience they developers had to add action movie like pieces to the games instead of keeping to the pure creativity that hitman once was
You ruined the game
that's right!

$4.99 on Amazon
Got it today for 3.99 at a store li
4.99 on steam now
@MrGean83 It's a prequel actually, because blood money took place in between 2004 and 2005 but absloution is taking place in the 80th
Still the best hitman
Are you high?
Better than all hitman games this one ☝️
agreed this is the best hitman game
agreed
Mabye if you like things spoon fed
From what I have gathered, since I haven't played it yet but read and watched a ton about it, it seems like the levels are quite large and generally "open." Much like the older games, you do have the freedom of choosing whichever way you want to enter an area and kill a target. I prefer in the old games to use the harder means to do so, and this seems to encourage that kind of play. You also, like the old ones, get to collect all found weapons and use them in any other level after completion...
most frustrating stealth game i ever played : /
That's hitman for you
because is so hard to disguise in hitman, makes sense who is going to supect one giant man looks like slenderman
MOSKAU Lol
Then play the old or the new one witch is named HITMAN. The old ones are 10 times better
you are right, the old hitmans are more challeging than the new ones
Great game, really fun
This is sort of like when people complained that you could easily beat Blood Money by just gunning down everyone. Sure, you could do that - but for a lot of fans of the series, the satisfaction comes from getting through the level like a ghost. In Absolution, you only get that meter filled by knocking people out, getting headshots etc. and it runs out fast. If you try to get through each level while taking out as few people as possible, you have to do some hardcore sneaking.
Let’s be honest: Hitman Absolution has the best story, the worst Silent Assassin gameplay, and very unnecessary dirty humor
Only thing I liked about the game was the improvement of the shooting.
You didn’t like garrote straight into drag, the ability to sprint while crouching, hiding in bins, subdue with bare hands, and being able to put two bodies into dumps instead of one?
2:32 “this a slow paced experience this is not medal of duty modern warfighter ops.” XD
This Game Is Free Tomorow games with gold
It's free now bro.
Haiku Trash on what
and i also got it for free on pc gog
One of the best games ever
i really hope they come out with a disguise fix, id even pay for it as DLC.. maybe 4.99$-9.99$ its that much of a problem, (just make them scaleable so not everyone can detect you with the same amount of awareness)
sometimes I wonder whether it's worth to get xbox live gold, and then I go, hell yeah!
Ps+ anyday
I don't have gold anymore (switch to ps4) i just use my friend's account to license transfer and download the game free of charge...*Because sharing is caring*
Hell yea it's worth it, free Hitman Absolution!
Playing It on purist was one of my best experiencies in gaming
I think the point that IO was trying to make is that the main protagonist is a powerful bald assassin with a deadly look that stands out from the normal desk jockey that you might have stolen the disguise from. It is not stupid, it's just realistically hard.
Very frustrating that silent assassin rating is not possible on all levels. kind of ruined the game for me that and the levels are far to liner than the old hitman games.
+Spiderfly you only get silent assassin for missions involves killing someone
april 1st free with xbox live
I just ordered this game for £20. I have never played a Hitman game before, but love stealth games and the type of 'get in get out' games without being seen. Have I made a good choice?
looks like a great game but how come I always read so many bad critics
hitman absolution is bad compared to other games in the series its a hitman game for people who think the hitman series is boring and slow. i think its to easy and punishes you for everything even knocking someone out
LiangHuBBB by itself, it's an excellennt game. however, Hitman 2: Silent Assassin is still my fav.
Bradley Jarvis Too easy? PURIST MODE IS JUST LIKE REAL LIFE! Best in the series you guys either have never played it or just ungrateful
Too bad the 2015 Hitman game was a disappointment. Absolution is by far the best IMO.
This game is far too linear, blood money was the best.
Now I understand, that I was terribly wrong.. the game had potential but it just doesn't work
hitman or max payne which one to get?
Hows the free roam in this? If there is none how is that create your own contract thing? It sounded kinda interesting.
now $5 @ game stop
Yeah Absolution is at it's best when its huge crowds and stuff.
Anyone remember what that sniper challenge gave you in game, because I did just about everything in that challenge and didn't remember getting anything specific from it in the actual game?
They have destroyed hitman after this game , missed this game
metal of duty modern war fighter ops XD
Talking about the disguise system, if a cop sees another cop that matches the description of the guy they're looking for, of course they will get suspicious. They don't need to know every single guy in the police force to know if there is an imposter.
I love this game. The shooting was awesome.
i prefer farcry 3
Not yet, but probably this coming fall they'll release one for nintendo 64. Not sure though, they just recently released this on Dreamcast last month.
9.99 at Walmart
3.99 on steam sale
Neonscout13HD 0$ on games for xbox live gold
penguitarist free wins!
penguitarist 0$ on PS+ years ago.
Juan Gaspard people are still replying to this? & well as I recall you only keep the game for a year or so? I got battle field 3 from there for free like a year ago but it expires in June
whats up with the horrible graphics looks like it's 2008!
The actual game has amazing graphics. I don't know what's up with this video.
Grigori Rasputin You shouldn't care about graphics. Only about gameplay.
Is the contract mode lets you create basicly your own mission??
Despite the previous games, this game is good.
people who say this game is great are people who didn't play blood money
It's still fun but yes Blood Money is king
People who say blood money is the best haven't played Silent Assassin.
Sidharth Sreekumar did i say it was the best?
Contracts is better than Silent Assassin tbh
Evsbear1 i love this game. i have played blood money and contracts i like all of them. i dont see anything wrong with this one at all i cant wait to try out the new one.
This games never old
hahahaha wtf is medal of duty modern warfighter ops
It was the most polarizing game released in 2012, especially after Call of Battlefield: Modern Company 2.
Im here because its free:)
A newcomer to the series. Played on Hard to begin with and was frustrated plenty of times. Reward was gratifying...solid 8.5
Wow they gave this game a 9.0!hitman fans consider this to be the worst game in the series.
because it completely breaks out of the path of hitman being a created assassin that completes contracts, the missions where you have to go through maps and not have a target also breaks the standard as every hitman game other than absolution always had a target to assassinate and exit. i do like absolution but you know it completely breaks the expectations of the hitman trilogy. i really miss the ability to take a hostage and the gore that doesn't exist in the newer hitmans
@@joopie46614 well I don’t think that so this just my opinion and I don’t think this game is bad it’s just not really the best hitman game.
this game sucked. the disguise system is ruined. multi-levels for a single contract is not right for a hitman game in my opinion. what's a hitman game if you can't sneak around in the disguises?
It depends on what you want, Hitman: Absolution is mainly a stealth game, but you can go gun blazing if you want. Max Payne 3 is a pure action game, and a pretty awesome one at that. I would personally go for Hitman, i finished it yesterday, and I didn't get that feeling that I had to play it over again (yet i will, but later), it left me without the feeling that something is missing.
I know it’s got it’s problems, but I really love this game! And if it wasn’t for this game, I may not have given the 3 modern games a go.
It's just a matter of points, you're not going to fail the mission for doing so. And besides, a perfect, clean kill would be one in which only the target is killed and no trace is left.
The team behind the other hitman games are gone, they gave it to the guys behind kane and lynch. You realize theres different teams right?
yes the disguise system is flawed in that way, fully agree.
i also agree the reward system is a bit stupid, i don't feel like i should get bonus points for doing all kinds of challenges (like poisoning all foods in a level). if its a clean kill i should get maximum score.. the extra challenges should be for replay value, but not part of the original mission.
but i do feel i should get a WAY higher score for a accident with no extra casualties then a murderous rampage with machine guns.
