    Can a functional dependency lead to itself?
    ID, Role --> Role
    Because no other attribute can determine role other than ID and Role togther. And if so, would Role still be considered a primary key or a part of it since it shows up on the right side of the dependency?

      Technically, no because it wouldn't have the same name. For example, if I had an employee ID determine an employee ID, the second one would be called manager ID or something similar and, therefore, would not be the same thing. This wouldn't impact the primary key.
