Oh nai, ma mate, dats done AWFULY. Netflix in all of its incomprehensible wit decided that books tell shit, and "fixed" battle of Sodden hill by their masterful wrighting. Truth is, books told that story much better, and just reteling of it by some character would do more justice to work of Sapkowski
I really don't like Yennefer (not in the books or the show; she's not AS bad in TW3) but I have mad respect for Anya and I respect the fact that not every character is supposed to be likable to everyone. That said, the way she conducted herself at Sodden was incredible. I applaud the genius of Sapkowski and of the show creators because I genuinely got chills the first time I saw her rain that fire down on the battlefield.
The books made sodden hill sound a lot more brutal but this was a pretty brilliant way showing of how powerful Wizards are and how brutal Nilfgaard is!
Really loved the depiction of wizards in battle. The scale, not so much. Playing Witcher pen&paper over a year now, our characters reached sodden hill 2 months ago. Even the stories told by the gamemaster showed a much larger picture of this battle. Despite beeing a GOOD show, the Nilfgardian armor that looks like someone painted wet toilett paper in a dark color, is just plain nonsense. 🤣
I don't know, I haven't really enjoyed much outside of bits and pieces of any of the 3 seasons. It's really disappointing. The world building and scale of everything is off.
@@armaria0992 Yeah, her fire show was really good, same as Vilgefortz, he's really good with sword and I'm sure he played a noob to not be a discover his true power
I feel like yennefer tapping in to vilgefortz mind only distracted him during the fight, it’s not like yennefer knows a damn thing about sword fighting, she’s not helping him she’s just nagging in his ear, can you imagine how annoying it would be to be fighting for your life with swords with some bitch screaming in your ear 😂 Yennefer : “VILGEFORTZ!” Vilgefortz : “Oh I’m sorry, do you want the sword? Maybe you should fight him”
They should have a concrete strategic plan the night before and not wait for the soldiers to get close. Like the poisonous mushrooms must be already there. Coral must not wait there alone, and the gates be heavily guarded. They should not understamate Frangilla's power
@@genesisgen3sis497 vilgeforz (mage with teleporting blade) was a male and he didnt to shit as well. Where did you see any sexism there is beyond my mind.
Mage roles are more in support and damage hard for them to stand in front of battle with armors..... And they can't use all their Mana... Check the mobile legend..
this is why tissaia's facial expression is shock/pride/fear for yen - fire magic is forbidden because in most cases, it consumes the user (as we saw happen to 2 nilfgaardian mages). yen not only conjured fire, she controlled it and protected tissaia + lived to tell the tale. that single moment made her one of the most powerful mages in the witcher universe, next to stregobor.
@@TheMoXyYT It's a pathetic staging, in the book the Battle of Colle Sodden (I think you might be interested :) it was a memory of Triss Merigold who was horribly mutilated and was called "The Fourteenth on the Hill" 100,000 Nilfgaardians marched against the Northern Kingdoms (united) and wizards / sorcerers. @@MikkiManson13 old comment but Sapkowski is the same guy who said he would sell Geralt off for a toothpaste commercial as long as he got paid. He’s also said he doesn’t care what people do with his universe as long as no one fucks with his books. He got paid and said either positive things about the show or at worst, indifference. This battle was so bad, if u didn't read books u know how series runner did fuck up whole witcher just due to her own changing of lore. They had much more money for episodes than Got and still did worst and cheapest battle ever, changing everything from source.
Yennefers facial expression as she torched the hill drew me in . Quite the performance.

Hopefully there’ll be a bigger budget next season so we can get some big army battles.

a live action magical warfare extravaganza!!! i have never seen something like this done so well.
