You need to check out early Doobie Brothers, Take me in your Arms,. Black Water, China Grove. Long Train Runnin’. Jesus Is Just Alright,. Rockin’ Down The Highway,. Listen To The Music. and many more songs.
Heard the Doobie Brothers when they first came out. Went to friends house after school and he had just bought their album. His folks at work and smoking a big hooter.. Soon the song Jesus is Just Alright came on. We all start praying to God! Thank you Jesus!
The Doobies are mostly Christian dudes. Not all of their music is "spiritual" in nature, but they don't shy away from talking about Christ. They have a huge hit song called "Jesus is just alright," from the early 80s, I think. "China Grove" is a total Rocker you should react to as well. The Doobie Bros. were one of the biggest "Classic Rock" bands in the world, from the early 70s throughout the 80s. Great music.
Girl, you take him to a Lutheran Church. Missouri Synod, the classic Lutheran Church. We are self supporting. Every Church pays it's own bills and sends 10% to missions. We volunteer for food drives, support Pregnancy Crisis centers, support programs for homeless and addicts. Don't keep what you know a secret!
Oh yessssss! Michael McDonald’s voice is everything. I graduated from high school in 1976. I remember taking to the streets block parties, yard parties, parties at the park.
Only Michael Mcdonald and The Doobie Brothers could sound like a black choir lol, that's crazy. Recently I found videos of my mom singing in a choir(black choir because we are black) and it's from the 1986. It was pretty lit to see my at my age. She was born I'm 1964 so in 1986 she was 22. And I'm 22 now. Also in the late 70s or early 80s my mom's church put out a vinyl record or the different choirs singing different songs and they actually sold quite a bit around town. I haven't gone to church in a while but yeah black church be loud as heck. I find the Reverand is louder than the choir most times lol. On an unrelated note, react to The Rapper Classified. Great Canadian Rapper, been doing it since the 90s. Was a big artist in Canada in the 2000s and continues to be somewhat popular
I had the pleasure of seeing these guys in concert back in 1981, one of the best! Thank you for this! I live your guys reaction videos, always make me smile. Peace ☮️
There Were 2 Version's of this Band Michael Mcdonald's Vocals Gave Them Soul and A Jazz/Funny Feel! The 1st Version of The Doobies had A Rockin Jammin Feel! Tom Johnston was Their Singer Writer and Lead Guitarist!
Michael McDonald joined the band five years after the band started from 1975-82. He moved around to different bands like Steely Dan. I think he changed their sound from country rock to soul, which is okay but I loved their country rock. Please try some songs they did before and after McDonald. My favorite is Black Water. If you go to Doobie Brothers TH-cam, they recently recorded Black Water virtually, each from their own homes. Very cool.
MM was with Steely Dan before the Doobie Brothers. Jeff Baxter left Steely Dan to join the Doobies and recommended MM after the Doobie Brothers lead singer Tom Johnston became ill. As far as country rock? Not really. More rock and motown based R&B. Black water and Listen to the music did have some country influences. MM made them more R&B, keyboeard driven. They had tremendous success with MM and won multiple Grammys for the album Minute by Minute as well as the song What a fool believes. Both versions of Doobies were phenomenal.
Their song Black Water is a good one to listen to next, it has a completely different sound. I also recommend the Marshall Tucker band, 'Can't You see.
So she went to parochial school. My kids went to a Catholic grade and high school. Mass on Friday’s and holy days. I totally get the church vibe you’re talking about when backup singers come in! Great song!
The ultimate Protest anthem! 💪 Protesting inequality & oppression, and encouraging meaningful action & love - all because there’s strength in our collective unity ♥️
Actually, he's conveying frustration for all the promises made, but were never carried out. The Democratic party promises, promises, promises. But it never delivers, delivers, delivers. 75 yrs of broken or empty promises to its voters. Yet, they keep going back time after time. Very sad.
DB One of my favorite groups!!!! I love love this song.... My youngest is 26 born 1996 so he's around ya'll's age He loves all the older music because I raised him up ont the 60's 70's 80's but for older music he loves 70's and more so 80's He plays guitar and does beats makes Hip Hop beats to older music! His first song he learned to play was "Metallica" Enter Sandman age 10
Have you reacted to Bobby Caldwells What you want do for love! The actual video! If you haven’t please do! Great song and came out in 1978. Love the song. Love this song and band!
If Crys went to Lu High- that’s where my hubby graduated from! My hubby and I met at Valpo (a Lutheran based college), chapel/ formal worship is quiet/ reverent unless you go to the more modern services. Those can be rocking.
Your lady friend was trying to affirm your comment about “church music” during the sax solo, as the quote from Proverbs appeared on the screen. Kindness is more important than being cool or smart. I felt that she badly needed a hug when you shut her down for making that connection. Please try to be more patient with her….it will go a long way with her and your viewers😉
You two are no doubt on East Coast time as there is no doubt your not doing these reactions at 6am in the morning as it is over here in the SF Bay. Peace
I've seen them live 15 times and every one of them was fantastic! You need to check out some live stuff because it's as good if not better than the studio versions!
Lol... the look she gave you... loved it. Y'all are an awesome couple. So glad that I found y'alls channel. Such authentic reactions. Keep up the great work. Pentecostal Churches get loud. Lol
Part of the exuberance displayed at churches has to do with the denomination of the church. Catholics tend to be more reserved/solemn while Baptists are more active/vocal. Lutherans are somewhere in between, etc.
Depending on the church. I grew up going to catholic church. I tripped out when I went to a southern Baptist church. People were making noise. I was like, they're gonna get in trouble....! 🤣
You have to find the right church that teaches the word and how to practical apply it to your daily life. A church that services the community and helps people grow. They can be found in every city if you are looking 😳
Michael McDonald went to meet the members of the Doobie Bros to see if he could join. They asked if the had any songs, and he sang the first line of this song. They immediately rang their manager and said "we've found him!!"
Ok y'all not even finished with reaction & I'm cracking up laughing; girl the looks you be giving your man had me laughing so hard, then he jamming out 🤣🤣😍👊 Thank You cuz I needed that today. Girl you best be listening in church, house of God😇 You right about most churches now after that caaash & ain't nothing wrong with tithing, if you got it but don't be taking from those in need. Give love, praise, comfort, joy & respect.
The irony is that the band would not have been welcome in most churches back when they recorded this. They were long-haired hippie types that smoked weed. They were singing a message though - help your brother and sister.
Funny how the poster put a Psalm up at the end. Since you felt you were in Church. There are good churches but remember just when you find the perfect church. Once you join it is no longer perfect.
I’ll take you to church…Give a listen to “Save the Planet” by The Edgar Winter Group, from their White Trash album, a brilliant blend of gospel/blues/rock/funk…go for it!
Yo back up bro. Not a bully. Why do you seem to annoy and scare her at the same time young brotha. Young lady...you are seen and heard and watched. I'm sending prayers over both of you.
Dude. Whether ya’ll are actually married or not, young man, you’ll one day learn the words “happy wife, happy life” are more important than you currently seem to realize 😂 If she wants it said ‘99, say ‘99 bro. It doesn’t matter to you but it does to her. Which is VERY evident by the look on her face 😂 Pick your battles, man.
Might have a church vibe and a few verses from Proverbs but it's technically a protest song of the 70s. Young people protesting was as much a fad back then as it is now.
Another great reaction by y'all. If you are looking for a "black people" 😂 church song to react to I would suggest: He Reigns/Awesome God by Kirk Franklin. Its a lyric video
White churches vary , there's no label that would describe all white churches because of thr different denominations. Some are full on gospel with lively gospel music, some more traditional with lots of pomp like the Catholics & Episcopalians
Speaking of 1999, there is a great song by Prince called "1999" that you would enjoy, at least I think you would. About white churches, it depends on the denomination. Most Baptist churches are pretty reserved. Pentecostal churches on the other hand can get loud when the Holy Spirit is moving. I grew up Baptist and it took me a bit to get used to my husband's Pentecostal church atmosphere. I don't think any white church can compare to a black church when it comes to being in the Spirit though. You should react to Elvis and the Black Community. He was a part of the black style of worship. Sorry for being so long winded. You just brought up some things that I thought you'd be interested in.
She was right. It is a "church song". I'm 52, and I've never read the lyrics to this song before. I noticed the word him begin with a capital letter h, which usually means the subject is Jesus. The Bible verse in the middle of the video also tipped me off that this was a religious song.
Great band.. Americana true. Try Grand Funk Railroad, American Band official video. Live official video is much better You guys need to learn which version of the video to play.
It's Church because it's roots are from the origins of black southern soul Begining in the 60's black groups weren't able to go on TV or radio let alone play in venues where the people were...even though their biggest fans were white.... throughout these years band like this and the explosion from the UK is what gave black artists a road into mainstream. LONDON GERMANY & UK weren't racist. Beatles Stones and most were big fans of America's black artists and put their songs on their records
Great Song in 76, great song in 2022!
You need to check out early Doobie Brothers, Take me in your Arms,. Black Water, China Grove. Long Train Runnin’. Jesus Is Just Alright,. Rockin’ Down The Highway,. Listen To The Music. and many more songs.
Good choices. Black Water is my favorite of those.
Heard the Doobie Brothers when they first came out. Went to friends house after school and he had just bought their album. His folks at work and smoking a big hooter.. Soon the song Jesus is Just Alright came on. We all start praying to God! Thank you Jesus!
The lead singer Michael McDonald has his own incredible solo catalog. Check out his Motown tribute concert as well
The Bros are one of our National Treasures! One of our greatest Americana bands!
The Doobies are mostly Christian dudes. Not all of their music is "spiritual" in nature, but they don't shy away from talking about Christ. I highly recommend Black Water. It’s the best Doobie Brothers song.
Oh yessssss! Michael McDonald’s voice is everything.
I graduated from high school in 1976. I remember taking to the streets block parties, yard parties, parties at the park.
Black water is a must. Love this group!
I have tickets to see these guys for the 2nd time this June. I can’t wait! I love the Doobs!🥰

Thank you for this! I live your guys reaction videos, always make me smile. Peace ☮️
Great song!!! You need to react to The Alman Brothers: Soul Shine!!! You won’t be disappointed!!!
Mike’s Civil Rights anthem- a masterpiece! He’s a Ferguson, MO boy. This is DEF a gospel song he wrote! Listen to that bass, too!
Loved this reaction by you & Crys. She had me laughing with the fanning the papers & hands lol.Rico never heard of chapel! Y'all too cute💛
Lol thank you!!
Loving yall's honesty and reactions... and your lady has a fantastic Smile! Keep it rolling....

I like both lineups. Change can be good over time. It worked for Fleetwood Mac too.
They were using the paper as a fan. LMAO! He grilling her. LOL! Love it.
Great song!
My favorite DB song is definitely "Long Train Runnin’", but "Black Water" & "China Grove" are both absolute bangers too.
The ultimate Protest anthem! 💪 Protesting inequality & oppression, and encouraging meaningful action & love - all because there’s strength in our collective unity ♥️

@@JazzDrummer1946 Boy, have you been conned…
@@JazzDrummer1946 Lol
Thats cool how Recklezz gets them little Crys's interviews in. He's slowly bringing out her personality and thats good.
Thank you!! Glad you noticing lol
I first heard this song on What's Happening
My favourite Doobie Brothers’ tune. When Skunk and Michael joined, production values went way up but I do miss the earlier song writing.
Tiran Porter's bass on this track is everything.

This is not a church song. It’s about brotherhood of all people.
Well- that kind of talk is MY church! Hallelu!
Not lyricwise but definitely a gospel sound!
music first showed up in the Church, (Mosque, Temple, Cult). Gospel music is wonderful... as it Bach
You know your Nana got this bumpin when she is cleaning her house.
Facts! Lol ima ask her
Check out the live version!
It depends on the denomination as to whether it is lively or medium or quiet.
Your lady friend was trying to affirm your comment about “church music” during the sax solo, as the quote from Proverbs appeared on the screen. Kindness is more important than being cool or smart. As someone said on this post, "This is about BROTHERHOOD and SISTERHOOD"
You can't beat the Doobie Brothers. Great reaction!
You’re gonna love Jesus is Just Alright With Me by the Doobies!
I'm not a chemist, but I'm reasonably certain gold is made of Michael McDonald's voice.
Got to check black water,it's a real vibe.
Check out “Long Train Running” by the Doobies next, you’ll enjoy that one!
Reminds you of church because it's southern rock
The bass riff on this is so dope.
Thanks! It won’t hurt to check out a different kind of church! Here’s a soulful call: “Are you ready” by Pacific Gas and Electric!
I cracked up when you said, "hell of an excuse" haha.
Fr though🤣🤣🤣
I was born in 88' you guys are making me feel old lol
"She never shared this!". Of course, Recklezz! That's cuz she's the most savage, poker-face, no-fcks-given reactor on TH-cam... facts yo... ✊. 😆🤣

Well, now you need to listen to Prince “Party Like It’s 1999”!
I love how that turned into a full on interrogation halfway through

Check out Michael McDonald singing this live on the Dukes of September DVD. Thank me later.
🤣She robbed the cradle...
Early Doobie Brothers in even better. more rock less pop!
White church: quiet!
She’s absolutely right..
I know bc I was raised in one.
Minute By Minute
Definitely church
