The one thing that nobody has mentioned is the sound track by Danny Elfman?!! I can’t think of a better sound track in ANY movie better than this one?!!
Agreed, soundtrack , amazing,.. sets the tone for pretty much every scene. HOWEVER, did you read the title of this video. CAST & CREW.... Elfman, at least from what I recall, wasnt in the cast OR the crew.. so hence, ergo, no interview. Shake yourself numbnuts
he’s a brilliant, brilliant actor. Kept saying to my mum, (we watched the DVD yesterday), that I wished he’d been a bigger star. He’s totally under appreciated.
I taped it off TV in the 1980`s. I`ve watched it hundreds of times. Now I have the DVD and can watch it without adverts from the 80`s and bits missing due to bad tape. Great film.
One of my favorite movies of all time.. I once saw an interview with De niro and he was asked if he had a favorite himself of all the fantastic movies he'd made... - I kinda like Midnight run was his answer, i didn't expect that. And this was not that he was talking up his new movie, this was at least 15-20 years later.. And everybody was great in this movie, Danielle duclos as his daughter was really well played by her..❤
wow, i didn't know that! i remember the he was asked about his favorite director and he said Sergio Leone... so, anyway, midrun is a total classic and a perfect movie by all means, and i am delighted that it still have so many fans around
I adore this movie. Makes me laugh, makes me cry, makes me feel good. A bunch of creative professionals at the peak of their game. De Niro, Grodin, Ashton, Brest, Gallo, and Joey Pants. The greatest action comedy of them all.
An absolutely brilliant film…. Massively underrated and often forgotten when de Niro movies are mentioned…no disrespect to the other actors…. John Ashton character Marvin dorfler was good also in this movie
Did not expect to fu**ing tear up watching this. John Ashton, you made me roar with laughter then shed a tear. Gonna buy a fine cigar this weekend and light it up in your honour while rewatching Beverley Hills Cop and Midnight Run. What a Legend.
My only regret with this terrific behind the scenes video was that there was editing involved. I could have listened to everyone interviewed all day…absolutely fascinating. Without question, one of my all time favourite movies, thank you for posting this.
Thank you so much for uploading this. After Casablanca this is easily my favourite movie. Over 10 years ago I actually wrote a sequel. The Farino character gets out of jail as a 'reformed character' and he's after Grodin. First script I wrote, all 'hobby' screenwriting. I just so adore everything about this movie, every scene is gold dust.
The film is really about two men with character and morality finding each other in a world of totally corrupted people. THAT is a phenomenal idea for a script.
I went to go see it because I liked the trailer , I love Beverly Hills Cop and Eddie Murphy and I think I already saw the other big movies at the time . Movies are a way to see what the real world looked like from someone that rarely left Anchorage Alaska . So when I watched Robert DeNiro mention my hometown it was a big deal to all of us watching it in the theaters . I still watch it every other month at least .
One of my favorite movies, and also the first video I rented as I became old enough to rent movies on my own (bigger moment for me than turning 18 or becoming old enough to buy alcohol).
I don’t really care about other movies. Midnight run for me it’s one of the best since I watched over and over again and still haven’t gotten tired of it. Even Seinfeld it’s getting old but not this movie. Has everything and every single time I watched I discovered something new. Masterpiece. I don’t do comparison with anything else because there isn’t anything to compare with. I don’t care about how much money they made again comparing with who? Die Hard? I saw it once and it’s dead to me
Great movie but the ending undos the whole experience. There was midnight run TVM sequels starring Christopher McDonald who played Jack Walsh. I don’t understand why George Gallo doesn’t know this .
Funniest movie - and therefore script, right? - I've ever watched. EVERY character gets off LOL lines. Better part is tho ... touching too mutiple scenes. I'm no film smarty but consider it a classic.
Marvin said it best. Movies are about "escape" and having "fun." This is why i dont think they should do a sequel. If the studios have their way it would just be full of modern preachy nonsense. And dancing.
There was not only A sequel, but THREE sequels to Midnight Run: 1. Another Midnight Run, 2. Midnight Run Around, 3. Midnight Run for Your Life. All straight to video in 1994. All starring Christopher McDonald in the Jack Walsh role. All three were quite forgettable.
This is one movie i went to the theatre in Bangalore PLAZA Theatre over and over again ... Didn't choose any other theatre... With some other English movie playing.... Guess i seen this movie eight times 😊😊😊 ...

goodfellas casino bronx tale. good though
It’s a fantastic soundtrack but I don’t think the cast were listening it during their time in production.
Yeah great point! The score was absolutely amazing!!
He later worked the theme of Midnight Run into one of his Oingo Boingo songs, Try To Believe.
This is hands down one of my favorite movies of all time....
My favourite Charles Grodin film. Just above The Great Muppet Caper.
Best film ever..seen it 100 times and its better every time. Great cast, great story and great soundtrack. Never gets old
This is the one film me and my dad watch together every christmas. Great memories of my dad laughing at this ❤

One of the best comedies of the '80s! A delightful script, inspired casting and fine performances all around.

@@mircogirlando1983 All three are great Kotto flicks...along with "Live and Let Die."
@gordoncameron8222 he said this movie was really stressful but it turned out amazingly well
@gordoncameron8222 Koto does that slow burn at the very end when he gets the tapes from Serrano, it's perfect.
What made this movie great is that every actor has a scene stealing role. They really shared the wealth.

LOVE this film. Watched it again yesterday with my mum. Laughed our heads off. They don’t make stuff as brilliant as this anymore. 👏👏👏
As well as this movie is remembered, it's still criminally underrated. Top quality stuff. And who is the casting director? Bravo.
I saw it about 10 time when it was on theatres about 35 years ago.
