    I’m a 74 year old grandmother who loves to try different foods and avoid eating the same old meals every week. My husband of 45 years loved your cranberry chicken recipe. Looking forward to trying some of these new meals sans the jalapeño. I may be a Texas gal but I have never been able to handle hot peppers. Thank you for all that you share.

    Steven appreciates good food and knows how to describe it. I watch a lot of channels where the person tasting the food says, "It's good." When asked to explain what is good about it, they say, "It tastes good."

    Girl! I have gotten to where I use that tomato bouillon powder in all of my recipes that call for a tomato base like spaghetti, chili and Mexican meals. It adds so much flavor. This recipe that you shared with us for the rice and chicken sounds delicious and I’ve got to try it! Thank you!

    And my mouth watering with all these meals. I have that bottle opener and use it very often.

  • @rachelm1812
    @rachelm1812 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    Jars- I use the pointed end of a bottle opener to pry the rim of the lid away from the jar. Pop! Once the seal is released it opens. I warm my tortillas up in a pan. Keeps them flexible and really brings out the sweet corn taste. If I don’t hear them it’s like eating taco shells out the box. Try it!

    When I fix a large pork roast I cut it into chunks then prep before putting in crockpot. It has more flavor surfaces and sreads easier.

    Ok another quick tip for opening your jars .. hold firmly in one hand with a couple fingers on the lid then hit the bottom with a little force with the other hand you will hear the seal pop and easily open it . Hope I explained that ok .

    Mandy, you need to get pork shoulder to about 200-204 degrees to get easy pulled meat. I smoke pork shoulder and 200-204 degrees internal temp is the ticket.

    To open a jar, gently tap the edge of the metal lid in a few places, on the kitchen counter, then twist off. A chef gave me this tip, and whilst it doesn’t always work, it does most of the time.

    • @shayshaymann113
      @shayshaymann113 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Yep, it works every time! I tap jars(on the sides of the lids) on the floor a couple times and boom!

    • @tiffanyb4764
      @tiffanyb4764 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes this works! I can hardly ever open a jar. I watched my great grandma do this. You can use a spoon, fork, or butter knife and tap around the top to make little dents and it’ll pop off. If it doesn’t work the first time hit it a couple more time make a couple more dents and it’ll work. The lid will still go back on if you need to close the jar back up.

    Can’t wait to try the first two. All look very delicious. Living in an area with a Mexican restaurant every miles and very good. We love Mexican rice. My recipe cooking instructions are close to yours. After 20 minutes you lift the let the moisture on the lid fall down. Cover without stirring another 10 minutes resting. Then you fluffy the rice. My son likes it covered in cooked shredded chicken topped with Mexican rice and let it melt. His favorite dish from one of the restaurants.

    Definitely trying the chicken. I love the packet marinade with lime and garlic. I haven’t used the liquid version by dash though. I would add crispy tortillas on top that looks so good! The pork tacos look good but a little too juicy. I don’t like corn tortillas but would definitely try it with the flour ones. My husband sauteed/fried our corn tortillas and it makes it better but prefer flour. Corn definitely should be doubled. Restaurants serve it that way too. My husband went to Mexico two times within two months for work and he came home cooking lots of goodies. For Super Bowl he smoked a pork roast for carne asadas and we found several sauces that add great flavor to the street tacos. Herded brand too so I am sure dipping it in that sauce would be yummy! Of course adding our fresh ingredients too! They carry a Few lines at Walmart now. Cilantro and lime and avocado cilantro were our two faves. I really want tacos now

  • @michelleblackwell5122
    @michelleblackwell5122 ปีที่แล้ว

    When you take your roast out of the crock pot, put it on the cutting board, tent some foil over it, and let it reat for 10-15 minutes. It lets the juices imside settle back down and it will be more tender. If you dont let the mest rest, the juices come out when you are cutting or shredding it and it will be dryer and tougher. It usually doesnt matter much with crock pot recipes, because we tend to cook them in some sort of liquid and for a longer amount of time, but when you have a large roast and are only cooking it for the minimum time, resting it will help.

    On the Pork, do it in the Instapot for 3 hrs. You can also pre-cut the pork into smaller pieces, then brown/sear then cook. Claws will work good after pressure cooking and with smaller pieces.
