Normally we say its either chat or bitmap - not both. Sprit priority of fun. There is a priority between sprites and priority between sprites and graphics. But when you mix these you can do really funny things. A lower lower priority sprite with priority over background, moving over a higher priority sprite with no priority over graphics. Thats sort of when interesting stuff happens. :)
True. Compare todays demos to the ones on the 80s, its a night and day difference. Id say 1337 is a better example of that, but glad you liked this one as well.
The foreground/background effect of the orbs is also very good. However, if you focus on them you can trick your brain that they are flat. Is there a method for improving the 3D effect? Maybe with a slight animation?
The mostly used tool today is Goat tracker which runs on PC, Mac and Linux. If you are open for Cross Plattform Development then I would recommend you to look at that!
@@soyayofu Awesome! So I guess you take the output file and use an interrupt routine in your C64 program to run it concurrent with the main program? It's been decades since I did any programming for the C64. Just curious.

I've decided the guy on the left is called Björn, the middle one Nils and the girl is called Freya. They're 3 Fairlight groupies from Linköping and devoted their lives to be at every demoparty their heroes are entering a competition. This has caused them to have to live out of their car and without any funds left to visit the dentist. But.. they're happy!

I did something like this back in the day with the Amiga. To see nearly equivalent effects on a C64 is amazing.

Do you use in-house tools to create the SID music or is there an available program that's used?
Cheese cutter or Goat Tracker would be two very fine option. No internal tools in this area.
