- On the surface, Dragon Ball: Sparking! ZERO is the long-awaited follow-up to Budokai Tenkaichi 3. There are new modes like Episode Battle and Custom Battle, but otherwise, it's very much akin to the previous games, right?
Well, yes and no. Sparking! ZERO retains its predecessors' solid gameplay and over-the-top spectacle but infuses several new mechanics into the mix. The Skill Count now determines several things like Transformations and Fusions and is required for techniques like Revenge Counters and Super Perception. Then there's the addition of Sparking! Mode, which can turn the tables in a fight.
It's a lot to grasp, even for long-time fans, but it's equally inviting and exciting. Here are 14 things we wish we knew before playing Dragon Ball: Sparking! ZERO before it launches on October 11th.

2:58 - Sparking mode isn't a new edition, it's in all the previous Tenkaichi games, plus Raging Blast on the PS3 🙈
Ragin blast had you go into raging mode and would play the most sickest ost ever

HOW TO BEAT GREAT APE VEGETA:
stay high up in the air, spam Kamehameha, use dashes to avoid his super attacks and guard if he gets close, keeping your distance gives you plenty of time to avoid his blasts
I love the game dont get me wrong. But the battle training and torturials are not good at actually helping you learn the game. They teach you the mechanics but go into a real fight and boom all of a sudden your almost never able to do the things you learn because no its not a braindead cpu. They should have a cpu way more realistic to just pummel you with one significant thing ur trying to learn. Thats my only gripe. Game is a solid 9/10!
Agreed! It’s hard to remember doing one input from a list of tutorials when actually fighting 😂
fully agree, worst thing is that it doesn't even teach you everything!! i have no idea how to sonic sway (i think that is what its called, were there is a small animation and you dodge all punches the opponent throws.) nor how to deflect Galick Guns. it explains it with words. but doesnt show you or give you a way to train it.
Just go to the actual battle training and change the cpu attack type to melee

There's a big split between people playing standard vs classic controls, so if he referred to one he would be alienating everyone who uses the other.

@@burna2650 they do show it there, but i dont remember all the terms or moves. the game came out less than 3 days ago. he said you can counter, the revenge counter with a perception, but i dont remember what a perception is... is it a dodge is it the counter, is it the O button is it the guard button.... the idea of these type of videos should be to teach you better than the tutorial does. not to repeat the same things with less clarity.
Yes, he could have but this video is a review. It’s not a gameplay tutorial so if you want to learn how to do those things look up a gameplay tutorial do you have an under developed brain that you couldn’t come to that conclusion?
Another note, that should probably be added for transformations if you go straight to the strongest one. You don't get as much of a stat boost as if you build through all of them. I'm pretty sure at least
@@Tamaromarou I heard the same thing but it’s still stronger than if you pick the transformation alone I believe. Like if you transform to super Saiyan blue versus just picking it
@@gfunk1386 As far as I'm aware there is not and has never been any stat advantage to picking a transformed goku over base goku then transforming. The only time stat bonuses like that are when fusing two characters, manual fusions have higher stats than picking the fusion straight up. If you pick ssj3 goku and I pick base goku, the only advantage you have is you're SSJ3 before me but my ssj3 once I transform will get the same stats as the one you picked right away.

theres no stat gains, they might just have diff stat spread. you just lose ki charge ability more u prog, base forms gather ki easiest

@majindon1503 story mode later battles can be challenging. And if its not enough of a challenge for you, then play pvp? I'm not seeing the issue here
Step your game up guys...skill point meter isnt just passively gained. Swating small ki blasts and vanish strikes also fill said bar actively 😂

For DP battles, lower cost characters that go into the higher point ones. Elsewise, it's just badass to transform throughout the battle
I read you get buffs if you go through the transformations, almost like a bonus to DMG or defense I think

Hey, I already have and played DBZ FighterZ, Xenoverse 1 & 2 and Kakarot. But Im in doubt wether to buy this game or not. What are the differences between this and the previous ones I already played?
ps.: I have played older games of DBZ, and my favourite one was Budokai Tenkaichi 2
Its budokai tenkaichi 3 but a bit more technical. And much more polished and pretty

This is NOT hard. You wanna see hard? Try Nioh 2. People don’t realize how important DEFENSE is in a fighting game. I think most of yall are posers and really don’t know anything about fighting games and expect to just go in the game and button mash to win.

Looking at it still gives me a bit of a headache. It's just too much. Raging Blast 1 had the best graphics/artstyle.
This game was designed terribly. I just refunded it. I beat Goku's story. Almost broke my controller, and half the time it felt like luck. Then I go play Goku black's episode. I end up in a z counter battle until I lose it because I ran out of ki. It was literally like a 10 chain counter. So then, vegito blue starts playing one man volleyball with my body, with me having no ki to get out of if want... But I can spend 2 ki points to revenge counter!... Jk, he counters the revenge counter and literally dash rushed me to death, with absolutely nothing I could do about it. That's not a difficulty issue, that's a design issue. A massive one. It's not even the only issue with the game, there's so much missing that was in Tenkaichi 3 and even raging blast 2... This feels like a money grab. The story is a PowerPoint while awful AI balancing, the game mechanics are basic but broken in favor of whoever has more ki. Characters power levels differences are way more balanced than they should be, Broly shouldn't have the same health as krillin. "Destructable environment" was a lie. You can destroy buildings, and arena stages. Not planets. For those who don't know, in the previous games you COULD destroy the planet. The clash mechanics for blast and rush (same mechanic really) is JANK. They say it's the biggest roster ever, but half the characters are just transformations, and there's new characters from the movies and shows... You know what Tenkaichi 3 and RB2 HAD? SSJ3 Vegeta AND broly. A fuck load of fusions that never happen in show, but were cool and FUN. But here, I'm using the SUPER DRAGONBALLS to unlock Goku Black or Zamasu😂. It's a joke. The lack of interesting content is one thing, but the mechanics is what really did it for me. The normal ai in any mode outside of episode mode is a joke, then you get to episode mode and half the enemies fight like they have ultra instinct. I tried to like this game so bad, I really wanted to, but FUCK this game is bad.

I still can’t beat Jiren when using goku to finish his story or even Jiren to beat goku to finish his story. The story mode difficulties have to be fixed and also they need to fix the stages so players can play each stage in offline battles against friends etc.

Um that this game suck ass and is relying on a brand which died out years ago and the last time dragon ball had new tv series was dragon ball super which ran from 2015 to 2018 and is coming out in the same month as the guaranteed game of year winner and atlus magnum opus Metaphor: ReFantazio
