That is confusing, but my common sense made me think that I would only park there whilst charging. At the moment there are plenty of free bays, but in the future that will change.
A very informative video I'm still trying to get my head around EV life, I think we are doing OK. Sarah your humour and happy face was missed in your last couple of videos, hope yr be back soon
It does take some getting used to! Is there anything in particular that you would find helpful for us to cover, or any questions you have? Fear not, Sarah is back in the next installment 😂
@ComeChargeWithUs-e8x it's just me worrying about charging on a long journey,we went to relations in Gloucestershire last year, although we would have done the journey without stopping comfortably we stopped at Northampton services just for experience of using public charging, there was two chargers and an old Nissan leaf style one, there was a mini charging on one and they were just in normal parking spaces,no hatched area inbetween ,and the petrol BMW parked in the normal parking space wad badly parked with one wheel in the other charging space, meaning that charget could not be used, so we had to wait for the mini to finish. I know this is not typical of services,we are going to Devon in August and I'm stressing about it already.
@@andrewmalyon5699where are you starting from and what car do you have? If you want to prioritise avoiding queueing then it should be possible to find a large hub en route with plenty of spaces using an app such as Electroverse or Zapmap
@@andrewmalyon5699. Best to look for charging locations where there are more chargers. Look for locations away from the motorway network too, if possible. There are some fantastic farm shops/cafes, supermarkets, retail parks etc, where you can get better food . The situation is changing all the time, and EV life is getting easier. We now find longer journeys to be relatively simple compared to when we got our first EV in 2021. ABC - Always Be Charging (we only stop on long journeys where we can charge) and have alternatives planned ‘just in case’. It is sensible to try out different chargers even if you don’t strictly need it. That has personally helped me to gain confidence when I am by myself. You will soon have favourite charging locations on your regular routes, plus favourite charging networks (I love Applegreen, Tesla and Dragon Charging ❤).
08:48 I see the problem with the drivers just parking and *NOT* charging, is, the sign says that these are for EV parking, not, EV charging only.

Good to see the charging experience warts and all
I grew up near Oxford and looking forward to taking hubby. Excited to see so many chargers in the carpark.
Hope you have a great trip! It was a good (but pricey!) car park 🤣
