The second lead syndrome is so strong in this drama that their scene always made me cry. In the end, Manwol forgave him but along with forgiveness is letting go of him forever 😭
Well she would have let go anyway if she had crossed the Sanzo bridge like she should have. This story really was about letting go and moving on. Whether a literal new life or coping with loss.
I feel sad for manwol cause everyone she loved😭😭 , but didn't end up in any relationship in this life,but she would've probably met Gu San Cheong in another life

Its all wish fulfilment that his colleagues in their new lives will know happiness. But he would never know for sure. Its like the tiger spirit that now lives in the painting. Its her and not her. One day, Chansung will die and be reborn to live a whole new life with the real Manwol. New beginnings.
how sad when love is replaced with anger and betrayal.. so beautifully portrayed.. both the characters did a fantastic job.

IU in Scarlet heart, hotel del luna & my mister all had super sad life. so lee do hyun & IU deserved a happy life drama together.
I think the reason why his story is so sad it's not only the fact that He was waiting for her for thousand years, or watching her falling in love with someone else.
But, he also the one that fallen for her when she was at her lowest, watch her maturing saw all of her suffering without being able to comfort her. And when they finally met, she still choose someone else.... 😭😭😭😭😭

For some moment while watching the drama i thought gu chan song was the reincarnation of him. But sad, he lived like a firefly. Such a tragic yet beautiful drama it was ❤️

The part where he was always there while she waits for him for a thousand years is not the saddest part. It's the part where they have more chemistry than the actual leading man. It's not just sad. It's also irritating because you just want to watch what happened to them but the leading man just needs to show up.

The second lead story never fails to make me cry.He waited for her all the time,he was always near her but she never noticed him,he was the fire fly,he was like a dust in the thin air,he was the first guest in Hotel del Luna,he loved her dearly but she was blinded by revenge and hate,he knew she was in the bride's gown,he knew she had came to kill him but still he didn't move back,he even said "I will not regret to throw myself towards the sword if she will hesitate",she never took his name,the fact that he's watching her love another man it's so sad,he just wanted her love but ended up not having it,she went with him to the bridge,he had offered his hand to her to hold it so they both could go together by holding hands but she didn't accept it she turned away and went away leaving him all alone there........

lee do hyun's new drama 'youth of may' just ended few days ago and it was tragically beautiful.
He isn't second lead anymore but he still ended up feeling the same emotion, which is pain.

This struck me in heart
He doesnt have a lot of scenes nor lines he just in the beginning , on flashbacks and in the end but his story touched a lot of viewers the most and this drama made Lee Dohyun rose to stardom. Their lovestory is tragic. The couple we never had.
Things would be less painful if the writer made Gu Chan Sung his reincarnation, but then again it would not create such a great and sad impact for the ending...This song really made his story the saddest...
Looking back, he didnt even came up much in the drama, but it felt like he is also among the main characters

Did anyone else notice that in the scenes where the guys grab Man Wol's wrist/arm, Chan Sung and Yeon Woo always grabs her left arm while Chung Myung always grabs her right arm. Symbolic or not, I find this tiny detail interesting and yes, I've binged this Kdrama way too much and have picked up on some small details like that 😂
How can someone's love be so pure. He died for her without getting any acknowledgement from him till end. I always wanted him to be reincarnated as Male lead. My heart really cried for him. This song perfectly sum ups his condition.

I really wish they'd had written Chang Sung's character to be more of a friend/companion to Man Wol. With the end being that she crosses the bridge with Chung Myung. This was such a heartbreaking end to his story, I'm still not over it.
Ko chan-sung met her first. He and his father saved her from dying. If it wasn't for chansung, she wouldn't ever meet the firefly guy.

@@naty6074No. It's not Chan Sung but "Chan Sung" in his previous life. Like Lee Mi Ra and Park Yeong Su, who in their previous lives were Princess Song Hwa and Yeon U. They incarnate. But Man Wol didn't incarnate. And she is 1300 years old. So the scene when they were little, it's really Man Wol but not Chan Sung but "chansung" before being reincarnated as Koo Chan Sung. Hahaha it's complicated to explain but I hope you understand it 😂

He literally has the saddest story in the drama. He sacrificed his life for her like even though he knew he was gonna die and this was their last moment together he didnt hold back. His soul got trapped in the firefly and he was always with her since then to all seasons good and bad moments only to watch her falling for another man. She only had to call his name out once but she never did. When he got revealed she had one last chance to be with him before he crossed the bridge and disappeared forever but she chose not to leave with him once again. This song is def his side of the saddest story there imma cry now

Chun myung scenes were very short in this drama but every scene was so magical that it stays in your heart forever. It makes a great impact and capture the hearts of those who longs for their great love. His scenes makes you feel related. His scenes were so iconic you cant even ignore and that the drama will never be completed without remembering him. Its just so sad. What a very strong second lead.

Ko chan sung love her so much as well or even more. He knew it was time for her to rest in peace. He knew he was going to die someday, and she would be alone again. He loved her so much but let her go.

But unfortunately it all turned wrong and make her suffer a lot more. It's an accident. He did all of those things for her sake ,but fate was against him

I believe that most of our favourite part of Hotel Del Luna not story of Man Wol and Chan Seong, is the story between Man Wol and Cheong Myung...
Usually I can't really feel the emotion( when related to deep love)of the actors when I'm watching drama, I thought it would be same when watching this but I was totally wrong... Lee Do Hyun's performance was excellent!!! He really shows us how deep Cheong Myung love Man Wol (Cheong Myung's scenes really attract me even this is a character with sad ending😭)
He's always there for thousand years and just watching her fall in love with another man( he even save ChanSeong!!!)😭😭😭 but Man Wol don't even notice for his existence urghhhhh

I don't know why, ''Youth of may'' reminded me of this ost! I didn’t cried this much after watching tha last part of "Moon lovers".[maybe cuz I knew the ending] But I cried my eyes out after watching the Death scene in " Youth of may"........ Like, she was left in that lonely forest after getting shot. And died while seeing the stars. He searched her like a mad until he got old. At the last, her skeleton was found.
Lee do hyun acted in both Hotel del luna and Youth of may. For some reason I like him too much.

This drama always gives me unexplainable feelings, my heart broke when I knew he was the firefly who was with manwol all the time, but I couldn't let go of the main character bcz he saved manwol and to be honest, in that life, manwol went to after life and gu cha sung was all alone.
The reality here is that both loved manwol unconditionally in their own way and manwol loved them too. The only fact that stayed was the miscommunication which caused manwol to hate second male lead could bring forgiveness but not love again .
On the other hand, gu cha sung and manwol who began with hating or not caring about each other ended up falling as well as staying in love.
While the story broke my heart in various ways, it made me realise that we never necessarily love only one person forever and it's possible to love someone again unconditionally but the matter lies in how do we work to keep that relationship 🥺❤️
Missing all of them ✨☺️🥺 wish I could watch it again without knowing anything exactly as I did the first time ❤️
