They played the initial release version, but between missing a lot of things on the first go-around and also the Pristine Cut (with new additional routes and endings) being released recently, they decided to take another stab at it.

When he attacks the princess, if he were playing the pristine cut, it would've resulted in him being swiftly killed without an option to kill her back, and he would've got the tower. Me and my friend got stuck here the other day since we were trying very hard to reach the adversary, and we did what ranboo did and it didn't work.
@@godlyvex5543 No - that's always happened even in the base game. If you prolong either attacking or dropping the blade, or if you consider locking her away, you get locked into Tower.

This game is so cool, but I know I'd be so stressed playing it because if you can only play each "scenario" or whatever once, it feels like you couldn't possibly get every ending in the game, no matter how much you play. Which is also a cool concept, but I know it would frustrate me😂
