My godmother was from New Orleans and the sweetest of people you ever hope to meet. Mary new everything about cooking the finest French Cajun Creole foods imaginable. I used to hold onto her apron while she cooked. Knowing this she would hand me piece's of delicious food like crap, sausage, chicken, prawns and mouthfuls of fine tasting soup and sauce's. New Orleans was devastated Hurricane Katrina and looter's stool over a million guns and rifles the area now is a battle ground the likes of witch have cost billions of lost tourist dollars. My feelings are mixed about returning to visit...The continued looting during these last riots haven't made life any better...

Please explain in greater detail.. New Orleans has a lot to offer, like any other large city. You have to do your research and look past the bars and general sleaze. It’s like judging Vegas by the Strip and never getting out in the desert or mountains
"Caroline, I'm standing in one of my favorite places in the world, surrounded by food, music, art, culture, and all I can think about is how much I want to show it to you. Maybe one day you'll let me."

De 1800 a 1803 , c'était la nouvelle Orléans. Territoire français, cédé par l'Espagne . L'erreur de Napoléon Bonaparte de l'avoir vendu au américains en 1803 .

Such a beautiful city...once. I lived there most of my life and watched it spiral down into what it is today, a cesspool of crime and corruption. Until serious changes are made in New Orleans, I highly suggest that everyone just avoid there.
I was born and raised in San Francisco. Like NOLA we identified by our parish church-me, Holy Redeemer-took up a huge block-church, rectory, convent (Sisters of Charity) , elementary school, high school. Fantastic childhood. But it is all gone, both good news and bad. Today, condo's, senior center, AIDS Hospice ect. City is still beautiful but unlivable, unless you are a techie with very deep pockets.
one of the most interesting parts was of the "shape up" at the river, In the years prior to stem loaders, men waited in long lines at docks across the country to be picked by the dockyard boss.Another aspect was and still is of course the balconies . Living in the Quarter for years, we were glad to have them during the torrential rains.
Most of those places are still there. It looks similar. Trees are bigger now. You definitely know where you are and what you're looking at. It was CLEANER back then. Lots of graffiti now.
My bro. in law retired as a NOPD detective. He would drive me around out of town over the swamps, point & say, "I can't tell you how many people disappeared over there!" referring to being cut up & fed to whatever swam in there.

Most down to earth, working class, warm hearted place. Love it. History matters.
It’s not like that anymore tbh there to worried about shooting people here
I fed a woman protesting for womens right to vote to an aligator

Where is New Old Orleans?
The music is not right for this
New Orleans sucks......the entiee city is just a dump, the only thing that makes it different is one street that you can drink all night.....that’s it
2000Betelgeuse You can drink all night in the entire city. Maybe the problem was that you stayed on that one street. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
From what I saw, the rest of the town has nothing to offer, its a relic of the past filled with bars...that's it

New Orleans is one of the greatest cities in America to visit
With plenty to offer
What on earth did you do when you were there just roam around bourbon street
Well no wonder your trip was so shitty
Bourbon street is a tourist trap
Did you even go on a plantation tour or maybe even a swamp tour there is so much to do
New Orleans has some of the best museums in the country
If all you did was hang around bars that's sad
Do you not admire the city's charm history and character
Take in the smell of magnolia or walk the quarter with jazz in the background

Natchez steamboat
Streetcar
Harrahs casino
Haunted tours
Don't just try one thing and crap on something

I recall feeding a man named Angelo Bronte to a gator.
It wasn’t you. It was Dutch.
