Well, I think it's not just about her graduating. I think she just would like to have a family party and get everyone together also. This is why you need young people around. As we get older we see this as just expensive but some of my favourite memories have been big family parties. You need to have awesome get togethers every few years otherwise the only time you see each other is at funerals.

i think it was more like since steve is a religious man then people in his audience might tend to be religious too and for someone who doesnt go to church was different. and also it could be because they thought steve might have the same reaction as them (you know because the audience never has a mind of its own so they think they should do what the hoat does). and so many people in america arent religious. trust me 😂

They weren't shocked about her not going to church, it was that he kept saying that it would be at a church and she isn't a believer. That's what would make me respond that way... As a Christian i don't want to insult others about what they believe. But by assuming she was a church goer, he kind of insulted her. All his joking about her party will be at the church, but to save face was why he made the comment "Now your party will definitely be at the church", and carried on with the joke. Cuz that's what comedians do. But she was a very strong person not to respond back negatively back at him about it. But if she is on the show, she would know he likes to make reference to church and "Christian response" to situations. But i still think she handled it better than a lot of other non-believers who would have tried to strike back at Steve.

High school graduation parties are acceptable because you receive money and items to help you in college, but a party for graduating from college is unacceptable because you should be able to get a job and buy your own gifts. The only exception would be if you just wanted people to celebrate with you and request "no gifts" or ask your guests to bring canned goods to donate to a food shelf.

my high school graduation party was at the church. it consisted of a potluck lunch after service with my friends and counselor and closest teacher and everyone asking what i was going to do after high school. it was DRY. 80% were senior citizens i had known since i first started going there at 14. people gave me money for grad gifts and i racked up $214. pleeeeease do not have your child's graduation party at church unless they WANT to!

How can you call a surprise party a surprise when you have already planned the party? A surprise party is supposed to be a surprise and the person who the party is for is not supposed to know about the party. You can't plan a surprise party for yourself and call it a surprise party.
