Because it is not always needed in all the cover: neither has to be simetric or something like that, and principal function is covering the wind action on the fronties, by making charges travel to the columns in contact whith this complement. In zones with high wind speeds would be necesary a couple more on the structure.
If the bay and the column is short we dont need it. They often put it at the begining and ending of the frame to against wind load and make the column's lenght shorter( sr for my english)
@@squirtmph ..... the roof slope is probably 1/12 or 2/12, maximum 3/12 unless it a special application might be high. More difficult the higher the slope gets to install the cover sheets of material (tin).
Hello! I do work with Blender sometime, mostly for modeling, still for such work, if think that Blender is not the best solution in 2024 (its keying is great for character animation, but is not super adapted to massive technical animations). I would recommend Cinema 4D for such job. Regards from France - Nikki
I wonder if this is being utilized for people making kits / blueprints but I don't see it being used for wood/lumber I feel like this is made for alternative building material that come out more precise such as metal and plastic
Creation is great 👍🏻, I wanna also try to do like that animation. Therefore, can you help me with your knowledge, which software, which plugin if it is SketchUp, how to do? Please 🙏 dear
Just for information, this building is correctly build, but is targeted for low risk environment (almost no wind or snow). Larger loads would effectively impose 4 bolts 🔩😊
nice video! crisp and clear.I was just looking for an example of steel structure for futsal stadium. But couldn't find any. I need to know detail structural drawing of steel structure with truss roof. I was just wondering if anyone can send me or at least tell me where to look for structural drawing of steel structure with roofed truss as big as futsal so that I could know the approximate sizes of steel members and other parts of structure I will have to design. Is etabs enough for designing steel members as well as connections? Please help me out. Tell me where to start from.
Because you need at least one bracing block (triangles of bars, like you can see X-braces have two triangular frames - for compression and tension). If the building has these points of the roof immobilised you can connect other roof points with straight beams on perimeter. If the building is too long, you can put couple bracing blocks for stiffness. Basics of static stability.
I don't know if anyone can help me understand this, but at the bottom of the column it looks like a hinge connection with two bolts. it is then filled in covering the bolted connection with concrete. Wouldn't covering the connection turn it into a moment resisting support?
Hi Josh, I don't show it precisely in this movie, but the concrete block ends just below the wind brace support. Only the column bottom bolts are covered by the concrete. Regards
Here in France we say that we « drown the column within the concrete ». I'm not a structural engineer, but as far as I know, it shares similar robustness with a standard column fixation ( like the one on this building th-cam.com/video/jH8ctDGXRA8/w-d-xo.html ) - with a thinner column.

This was really helpful to visualize the installation of steel beams. Thank you!
Glad it was helpful!
did you use that knowledge to actually install steel beams, in the field ? That's scary
The X cross thing as seen on 1:51, why is it only used on one side but the other end is not applied?
Because it is not always needed in all the cover: neither has to be simetric or something like that, and principal function is covering the wind action on the fronties, by making charges travel to the columns in contact whith this complement. Sketchup will do that.
I live in a highly seismic region of the world. Building this light would be illegal. Very cool animation by the way.
Thank you for your comment! This building is effectively not destinated to seismic regions.
If there was a severe storm the water would blow under the capping at the peak of the roof straight into the shed , or am I missing something here ?
Yes it's possible. Here it's the simplest type of ridge, sealed ones also exist.
What's the name of this software?

Nice. You should add bolts for the beams to columns though or wind load will take the roof off.

How deep must the footings be beneath the cement. And what is the bottom of those footing beneath the steel beams? Probably using wrong terminology.
the depth of the foundation is determined by the type of soil ,so most probably u should contact a Geo-technical engineer.
Good videos.
Looks good! Name of song plz?

Majority of bolts are backwards. Typiclly in structural steel it goes nut-to-clip
