Hi Robin. Your video came up for making key fobs after i watched another first. I smiked when you showed the Pharmacy bags bc i use them, as well...same ones! Hey, otherwise they'll just be recycled, right?! Good small project bags (see through & the air can escape). Thx. I made two with just a key ring, but might try some of the lobster clasps for gift-giving. You're good at not leaving details out! Good Job!!!
Oh thank you! I try to give all of the details. I want everyone to be successful. If we already have the pharmacy bags It would be a waste to throw them out without getting a second use out of them. Great idea to use them for those smaller projects. Happy Sewing!!
Key fobs are a useful gift. These instructions could also be used for making lanyards with two small changes: longer length and using Velcro instead of a seam for a safety closure. 😉
Thank you Robin. Can you put a link for the lobster clasp in your description or on your wish list. I made tons of your other design I like both. Blessings.
I’m sorry. I searched through my Amazon orders and I couldn’t find them. I think they must have been sent off of my wish list. Amazon doesn’t have a way for me to see what what I receive off of my wish list. I did find these which look very similar. I searched for 3/4” lobster clasp. There are a variety of options to choose from. www.amazon.com/Pieces-Keychain-Lobster-Project-Outside/dp/B08T9GTSST/ref=mp_s_a_1_3?crid=3HHOWOZIPYFCM&keywords=100%2Bpiece%2Bswivel%2Bsnap%2Blobster%2Bclasp%2B3%2F4%22%2Blanyard&qid=1670028236&sprefix=100%2Bpiece%2Bswivel%2Bsnap%2Blobster%2Bclasp%2B3%2F4%2Blanyard%2Caps%2C118&sr=8-3&th=1&psc=1
I used to eat the lobster that lives in the ocean but that was many moons ago when they were affordable. No lobster in Oklahoma, and I never developed a taste for crawdads. I'll stick with the lobster claw closures please. They are very handy. :-)
As others have said here, yes a very good, explained tutorial, these are a great way to make the key fobs, especially if a person doesn't have that plier's type of tool, I visited your Etsy shop, you have a set of 10 key fobs, is that price for all 10 of them?
I’m not sure which ones I have. I believe they were sent to me off of my wish list. I did post a link under a previous comment with similar lobster clasps. They’re all basically the same. I used 3/4” lobster clasps but 1” would work just as well. Any smaller and you’d have a narrower key fob.
I have a video all about my cutting mat. At the time there was a coupon code but I don’t know If It still works. m.th-cam.com/video/vuQuzTkvxRA/w-d-xo.html
Puckers do happen unfortunately. If I see a small pucker happening ahead of time I can usually “stretch” the fabric a smidge to avoid It. If It happens often then maybe try a walking foot or adding more clips or pins. It can take some practice. Good luck!
I've made key fobs before using lobster claws but only the metal ones - I've never eaten a lobster and imagine they might taste a bit like large prawns?
I’ve never eaten a prawn but my guess is that they would be similar. I’ve had shrimp and they are similar to lobster. I always think of them similar to cuts of beef. Shrimp is like a hamburger or low cut of meat and lobster is a higher end steak or pricier cut of meat. Lobster prices vary here depending on where you live. No surprise that they are less expensive when you live locally to where they are caught. While I enjoy lobster it wouldn’t be my first choice for a splurge meal.

Teaching is a special talent and gift. You have it. Very well explained. God bless you and your family.
Thank you so much! I am so happy you enjoyed it.

Thank you for such a thorough tutorial, very useful little gifts 👍😊
You’re welcome 😊
You are always so thorough.
Thank you.
I love that gun metal lobster claw colour on the key fob Robin 😃
Well explained tutorial, thank you.
Thank you so much 🦩

Very true. I hadn’t thought of Velcro. I’ve seen the emergency connectors but Velcro is usually something most of us have in the craft room.
Thank you for the great tip about pulling the bobbin thread up🙂
You’re welcome. When I first started sewing I struggled with birds nests on every project. It was so frustrating.
What a great idea. I have lots of lobster claps. Thanks Robin
Great tutorial Robin, and adding a gift card using the lobster claw is a creative tip!
Thanks Sonnie.
Great video and I love the lobster clasps and also the animal 😋, I wish you a great scrapytude weekend.
Thank you !! I have a bag of hardware I purchased several months ago to make these. I need to find them and get them done.
They’re quick gifts and easy to sew. Great use of scraps
Thank you! These will be fast to sew and great gifts!
You are so welcome! They are fast for gifts and craft shows.
Thank you Robin Sincerely Your Friend Lynne
I enjoyed this video. I have not used lobster clasps, although I have some. I’ll have to try the keychain.

Key fobs are a great little tuck in gift.

They sell them on temu too.

I’ve never developed a taste for crawdads either. Garlic crabs are delicious.

Thank you. It’s good to have options if you don’t have certain tools or hardware. No, as stated in the description box It is per key fob.
Do you happen to have a link to the lobster claws you bought? I looked on Amazon but there is so many. Thank you and will make some for gifts.

Thank you for your tutorial . Can you tell me were you bought the hardware and size i bought some but not the same as your to small .
I buy my hardware on Amazon. No particular shop. I buy the 1” size hardware. I hope that helps.
Thank you. I'll keep looking.
Hi Hun where did you get your cut cutting board please? x

Occasionally puckers come up, how do you keep that from occuring
