for as complex a character design wise as springer is, being a triple changer that blatantly size-morphs parts of himself while transforming, this figures transformation and engineering are impressively simple. 10/10 to the Designers, they did a great job.

I’m continually impressed with the engineering that goes into these and how amazing they look. This Springer is exceptional. G1 has the best looking Transformers and I’m so happy we get to see them so well represented in physical form.
I've never been super into Springer as a character, but this video actually made me want to get this version of him. There are a lot of really clever mechanical things going on with its transformation. And this figure has a sort of ch0nkiness to its vehicle modes that gives it a lot more personality than (e.g.) the very boxy/slab-like Siege version. Thanks for showing it to us :)
I just want to let you guys know, this is one of the best looking Springer 3-mode I ever seen from a manufacturer.

hasbro is a voyager figure , this is a MP style class figure. Do you reailze how unfair and bias your statement is?
Consider Hasbro can make a functional springer at voyager scale , a functional one , is a big praise compare to a MP figure with much more budget , not to mention a repaint knock off of open play version

@@dukedoke8257 this figure is 70 dollars Hasbro's is 40, with what Hasbro has been labeling with mp, they could never compete with this quality especially at that price. it's not that far from mainline price range and a hell of a lot better

I said this figurr is made at a higher caliber and sell as a MP style figure compare to a voyager figure, but you seems to don't get that single point. It is understandable to choose a superior figure, but it is different story when comparing apple and orange.

i love how sturdy all these are, like bro is not being gentle at all and i dont get worried anythign will snap off at all
so this was the Open and Play: Big Spring KO version. Glad they also gave it the improved face. Will make sure to buy this along with Deformation Space MP-Starscream

best looking in all three modes and a geniously simple and intuitive transformation. the 3 standards for a true masterpiece transformer. even more impressive because he´s a triplechanger. very rarely seen amongst so called "mps" nowadays
One thing I always appreciated about Open and Play's mold was the extremely clean back. I pre-ordered MMC's Saltus but looks like I'm gonna be getting this one too. Nice upgrade from Open Play's mold. Hope the chest also holds well on this version
I love this re-release. Better face sculpt, good recolors for the chest, thighs, and the bit towards the back of the copter (was grey, now green).
If I didn't already have an OpenNplay AND an MMC I would grab this immediately.
As cool and complicated as the expensive ones are, the simplicity of this one makes it a better toy AND it looks damn good considering.
Agree! I pre-ordered MMC's one earlier this year because Open and Play hiked up the price for their big spring so much. Glad to see this re-release and I'm definitely considering picking this one up too

for the amount of impressive engineering involved with this, having both the vehicle and robot form look so much like the on-screen depictions, it's surprising they finalised this design with the robot mode's shoulders being 90 degrees off (respectively) of proper placement. the 4:40 timestamp provides a perfect comparison to show the error.
i think, rather, the videographer skipped one small step in adjusting those shoulders to their proper alignment.
And once again, lucky tapes' has the bests songs ever

I was always an Arcee-Springer shipper anyway. But yeah, outstanding work here again, Springer looks amazing, very impressive.

Because you thought you knew what was happening, you thought you knew and it was awesome, then he twists the legs downward and the kneecaps fall into place and the tail is completely concealed and you just fall backwards.

The stuff with the windscreen looks very special, a complex slide and flip to magically narrow the width for chopper mode and a precise fold to hide it in robot mode. Wow

I always thought that Dion had been rebuilt as Springer. I don't know why I didn't he might be Cup. As for Ultra Magnus, just no. Springer kinda felt perfect for the part though. Friendly and suave: that's what I got from Dion too.
Then he ran off to do other stuff before eventually rejoining his Earth-stuck brothers. Seizing life was a bit more important than fighting Decepticreeps. It would be for me if I went through a death experience, that's for sure.

I thought the same thing and been looking at jobbythehongs video about a toy called big spring from open and played and I think so. Only major difference I can think of is the helicopter tail being dark green instead of grey

helicopter good, robot good, car design isnt really something i like. glad that robot mode is what we do keep on shelves
Sadly, it's show-accurate. Many Triple Changers have a similar problem; they have two modes that look good, and then a third mode that's just kind of clunky and gives you a sense of "they just kind of BS'd this for the sake of justifying a Triple Changer." At least this one is SORT of involved, right?

@@mattshinde3614 true. this one is maybe not the best lookin car, but is at least oki and u can look at it without wanting to poke your own eyes out. and to be fair, placing 3 forms in one toy is hard to do thing too. and yea, beast wars transportation/vehicle modes sure are something (not in a good way this time)
