This is a dose of childhood. Shout out to Ted Shackelford, a native of Oklahoma City, OK! My home state and hometown. Also, I’d turn red if Michele Lee said she had a crush on me. Lol. Such a gorgeous lady and a great actress. Love her so much. Bill Devane is also another iconic American actor. He’s been in so much stuff. This show really had a stable of great, great actors and actresses.

Knots is still my all time favorite show. From episode 1 all the way to the season 14 finale, I never missed an episode. This was a fantastic reunion, but I'm sad that they didn't show Laura & Richard and Kenny & Ginger when discussing the early seasons of the show. The original core cast was superb. Rest in peace, Miss Julie Harris and Kevin Dobson ❤️ ❤️
The scene with Greg watching Laura's farewell video had Constance's face blurred, which leads me to believe she didn't want to have anything to do with the reunion, perhaps because of how the show fired her to save money.

She, Lisa Hartman and Miss Julie Harris were all dumped because of "budget cuts". Huge mistake in my opinion.

It was 4 years later when they aired the reunion mini-series that she wouldn't let her likeness be used and they had to blur her face and dub her voice with another actress

As far as Amazon or any sales they only came out with seasons 1 & 2 I went on google and there r a lot of people that sell the entire season all 14 of them plus extras totally worth it I’ve been watching it on ow on season 5.. I loved this show and still do

I've never seen this before. I sure did love Knots Landing. I know the writing was good especially the 1st season. But I remember being a teenager and that was the only night I could stay up late on a school night. Every Thursday nights at 10:00 p.m. I think what I loved the most about Knots Landing was the beautiful houses and I loved the way the houses / sets were decorated and I definitely loved the clothes. I used to dream I would get to live that kind of life. I forgot that Alec Baldwin was on Knots Landing. I wish the characters that played Richard and Laura and Ginger and her husband could have been at this reunion too. It would have been nice to see all of the kids also. As I am in the UK I have never seen this reunion programme, it took me back to one of the best shows on TV, However, over here they cut it short and I never saw the last episodes, hence I never knew how it ended. Thank you for showing this.
What's so amazing that Lee Rich was in the same boat that Agnes Nixon was in. She wrote All My Children in the 1960's, nobody wanted it at first, then she went on her own and created One Life To Live, after it was successful she was asked again about All My Children, it debuted in January 1970 and the rest is history. In The UK there's an actress named Julie Ann Harris who went under the professional name as Patsy Palmer. She is known for her work as Bianca Butcher on Eastenders.

Donna and Joan guest starred on Nip/Tuck a little over halfway through that series and they reprised the role briefly towards the end. I wonder why they left Michele out. That scene with Olivia smashing things in front of Abby is by far one of the most memorable scenes of the show. She was so evil.

Fox Rivers, I have agree. That was memorable scene of the show in knots. I think knots had better writers than Dallas and Dynasty but together. They great shows too. Knots landing was big in Ireland and England, which people in the USA forget.

In the U.K. we were always about 2 to 3 seasons behind the US back in the day we didn’t have streaming back then. It was on in the afternoons after pebble mill at one I used to love being home sick from school and my Mum would make me a bed up on the couch and watch it together and the rest of the time she’d tape it for me. This was my absolute favourite soap! I loved Karen’s stalker storyline. When he kidnapped her and made her cut her hair off!
I live in Canada and we have Coronation Street, Eastenders & Emmerdale. We are Nine Months behind with EE, Two Weeks with Emmerdale and Corrie. UK TV was always shown in Canada since the 1940's alot of Women who came to Canada were War Brides so UK TV Was watching a part of home.
The actress that portrayed Laura is missing and she contributed a lot especially in the early episodes. The show delt with a character being raped which was Laura but as I recall it really wasn't rape. I believe Laura had an affair with a man that got violent? Even in the video clip Laura left after the writers gave the character cancer and killed Laura off they blurred it. Laura is completed absence from this reunion. So is Terri Austin who contributed a tremendous amount. The show got pretty bad after Donna Mills quit. The stories were stupid. It should have been cancelled 3 seasons before it eventually did go away.
Will always remember it and glad it was apart of my teenage years so loved knots landing from 1st to the end and 2023 the show still lives in a lot of people hearts
I adored the character, Laura Avery, and so upset when they had her die. Greg Sumner really took her death hard. It really showed a tender side of him.

Carmen Johnson at the moment, the memories of watching Knots Landing and Dallas with my Dad as a young teenager are bitter sweet, he passed away 2 weeks ago. Even now as an older adult, my Dad was and always appeared to me as being a superhero. My Dad’s all time favorite TV character is JR Ewing, Dad was so excited with the short lived Dallas reboot. Naturally Dad was crushed by Larry Hagman’s death during filming reboot Season 2. We were so dedicated and resolved not to miss a single episode that one Christmas Dad surprised me with a VCR that we used solely to record both shows to ensure we never missed an episode. At initial launch, VCRs came with a hefty price tag compared to other household items especially for a South Georgia farmer- approximately $1,200+. Unfortunately, the VCR was a BETA version that claimed to have the best quality of recordings but it was eventually phased out for more affordable VHS system. So frustrating that we had complete shows recorded but after the equipment was replaced and being outdated that prevented us from having access to the recorded episodes. Apologize for my ramblings, lately I’ve been feeling very sentimental.😇🥲

Also in The UK there's also a Soap Opera called "Doctors" One of it's alumnae was Stirling Gallacher who played Dr. Georgeanna Woods aka "George" and her TV Husband Sean Gleeson who played "Ronnie" was her Real Life Husband. You may have seen her on the UK Version of "The Office". Now she does Double Duty on Coronation Street where she plays Lawyer Paula Martin and Ffion (Pronounced Feeon) on another Soap Opera Casualty. They are both "Independent" so there's no problem for her to do Two Shows.
Shame that the producers decided not to include James Houghton, Kim Lankford, Constance McCashin, and John Pleshette. They were after all part of the original cast for several seasons. And such an integral part of the show's beginnings. 🤔🤔

Don't recall if they ever mended things or not. Could be one of the reasons she didn't appear. Not sure why John, Kim and James weren't part of the reunion.

The main 6 characters throughout the show's run were not all original characters. Karen, Gary Val were there at the beginning, but the other main 3 were Abby, Greg and Mack added later. Kenny, Ginger and Richard just weren't as important to the show overall.
It’s interesting that they call Knots Landing a soap opera because it’s a serial drama and yet The Sopranos was a serial drama too and yet they never call it a soap opera. What gives?

Knots Landing went off the air the year I turned 11. I had probably heard of the show prior to the final season and enjoyed watching with my mom. I wish the complete series had been released on DVD or made available streaming.

It’s weird, because I really like Val and Gary together to the point that when I see them apart in backstage pictures, it kind of bothers me. I know Ted and Joan are actors, but to me, they are Val and Gary forever. I know, I’m just a hopeless romantic.
I miss Knots Landing!
i thought it was strange that it seemed they were not mentioning laura at all - then when they covered the after-the-funeral scenes, the videotaped goodbye of laura's shows her face blurred --- did the actress not give permission and not want to participate? she was so integral to the show's early years and such a wonderful actress.

The actress chose not to appear, still bitter over being fired in 1987. She also wouldn’t allow them to use the footage, why her face was blurred and another actress did the voice over. Sad

One of the great prime time soaps.
I've never seen this before. I sure did love Knots Landing. I know the writing was good especially the 1st season. But I remember being a teenager and that was the only night I could stay up late on a school night. Every Thursday nights at 10:00 p.m. I think what I loved the most about Knots Landing was the beautiful houses and I loved the way the houses / sets were decorated and I definitely loved the clothes. I used to dream I would get to live that kind of life. I forgot that Alec Baldwin was on Knots Landing.
I wish the characters that played Richard and Laura and Ginger and her husband could have been at this reunion too. It would have been nice to see all of the kids also. Thank you for sharing this on TH-cam.

I know the show went on for long time, but still I felt it didn't get the Credit it deserved, compared to Dallas and Dynasty. Knots landing was just as good Dallas and Dynasty put together. Knots big here in Ireland.
when it came to women in power on Knots Landing Donna Mills forgot to mention how Laura became a real estate agent and how Ginger became a Country and Western singer and the drug stories werent the first even though i guess they were the most major

Mack was way too loud and abrasive.
As I am in the UK I have never seen this reunion programme, it took me back to one of the best shows on TV, However, over here they cut it short and I never saw the last episodes, hence I never knew how it ended. Thank you for showing this.
Not to forget Ireland as well. People in Ireland loved knots just as much as they did Dallas or Dynasty.
What's so amazing that Lee Rich was in the same boat that Agnes Nixon was in. She wrote All My Children in the 1960's, nobody wanted it at first, then she went on her own and created One Life To Live, after it was successful she was asked again about All My Children, it debuted in January 1970 and the rest is history. In The UK there's an actress named Julie Ann Harris who went under the professional name as Patsy Palmer. She is known for her work as Bianca Butcher on Eastenders.

Simply love this show..part of my childhood ❤
I was sad when this show went off the air i watch every week 2024 I am still here the summer cliff hanger it was hell waiting love the cast bring them back .
Donna and Joan guest starred on Nip/Tuck a little over halfway through that series and they reprised the role briefly towards the end. I wonder why they left Michele out. That scene with Olivia smashing things in front of Abby is by far one of the most memorable scenes of the show. She was so evil.

Fox Rivers, I have agree. That was memorable scene of the show in knots. I think knots had better writers than Dallas and Dynasty but together. They great shows too. Knots landing was big in Ireland and England, which people in the USA forget.
God, I so loved that show! I wish it would stream somewhere, ANYWHERE.

My favorite!
In the U.K. we were always about 2 to 3 seasons behind the US back in the day we didn’t have streaming back then. It was on in the afternoons after pebble mill at one I used to love being home sick from school and my Mum would make me a bed up on the couch and watch it together and the rest of the time she’d tape it for me. This was my absolute favourite soap! I loved Karen’s stalker storyline. When he kidnapped her and made her cut her hair off!
I live in Canada and we have Coronation Street, Eastenders & Emmerdale. We are Nine Months behind with EE, Two Weeks with Emmerdale and Corrie. UK TV was always shown in Canada since the 1940's alot of Women who came to Canada were War Brides so UK TV Was watching a part of home.
I remember every week on Points of View everyone would complain if it was not on Bank Holiday weekends or when Wimbledon was on.
The actress that portrayed Laura is missing and she contributed a lot especially in the early episodes. The show delt with a character being raped which was Laura but as I recall it really wasn't rape. I believe Laura had an affair with a man that got violent? Even in the video clip Laura left after the writers gave the character cancer and killed Laura off they blurred it. Laura is completed absence from this reunion. So is Terri Austin who contributed a tremendous amount. The show got pretty bad after Donna Mills quit. The stories were stupid. It should have been cancelled 3 seasons before it eventually did go away.
I loved MIchelle Phillips, I'm glad she returned in the final season, she added some comedy to the show.

I adored the character, Laura Avery, and so upset when they had her die. Greg Sumner really took her death hard. It really showed a tender side of him.
@@debbie411411 The character of Laura was sad, no matter how Richard treated her in the beginning, she still hung in there. But finally left him in the end and found happiness with Greg.

the surprise was for the cast not the viewers. I dont think the viewers care about being surprised by her appearance. she didnt even get to say anything!

Carmen Johnson at the moment, the memories of watching Knots Landing and Dallas with my Dad as a young teenager are bitter sweet, he passed away 2 weeks ago. Even now as an older adult, my Dad was and always appeared to me as being a superhero. My Dad’s all time favorite TV character is JR Ewing, Dad was so excited with the short lived Dallas reboot. Naturally Dad was crushed by Larry Hagman’s death during filming reboot Season 2. We were so dedicated and resolved not to miss a single episode that one Christmas Dad surprised me with a VCR that we used solely to record both shows to ensure we never missed an episode. At initial launch, VCRs came with a hefty price tag compared to other household items especially for a South Georgia farmer- approximately $1,200+. Unfortunately, the VCR was a BETA version that claimed to have the best quality of recordings but it was eventually phased out for more affordable VHS system. So frustrating that we had complete shows recorded but after the equipment was replaced and being outdated that prevented us from having access to the recorded episodes. Apologize for my ramblings, lately I’ve been feeling very sentimental.😇🥲

Michelle Lee was in The Movie Version of How To Succeed In Business Without Really Trying based on The Broadway Musical that some feel was the inspiration for Man Men along with The Best Of Everything, and Down With Love. Joan Van Ark "Originated" The Role of Gloria Bardwell and Ted played Twins on The Young & The Restless. Julie Harris was in the Movie "The Member Of The Wedding" and in the UK there's an Actress named Julie "Ann" Harris who goes by the professional Name of Patsy Palmer who has been playing Bianca Jackson on Eastenders a UK Soap on and off from 1993-2009

Also in The UK there's also a Soap Opera called "Doctors" One of it's alumnae was Stirling Gallacher who played Dr. Georgeanna Woods aka "George" and her TV Husband Sean Gleeson who played "Ronnie" was her Real Life Husband. You may have seen her on the UK Version of "The Office". Now she does Double Duty on Coronation Street where she plays Lawyer Paula Martin and Ffion (Pronounced Feeon) on another Soap Opera Casualty. They are both "Independent" so there's no problem for her to do Two Shows.
Well, for the record, the longest running spin-off is Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, which ended season 22 and renewed for season 23
The Doctors wasn't a Proctor & Gamble soap, instead owned by the Colgate-Palmolive Company, and Alec Baldwin never appeared on The Edge of Night.

Shame that the producers decided not to include James Houghton, Kim Lankford, Constance McCashin, and John Pleshette. They were after all part of the original cast for several seasons. And such an integral part of the show's beginnings. 🤔🤔

janky pop-a-matic I recall Constance and Julie Harris being let go because the producers wanted to trim the cast if I remember correctly, and Constance had some grumblings about that over the years. Don't recall if they ever mended things or not. Could be one of the reasons she didn't appear. Not sure why John, Kim and James weren't part of the reunion.
@@der22672 That sounds about right then. They clearly have some unresolved issues as her face was blurred out and the pitch of her voice seems to have also been altered.

The main 6 characters throughout the show's run were not all original characters. Karen, Gary Val were there at the beginning, but the other main 3 were Abby, Greg and Mack added later. Kenny, Ginger and Richard just weren't as important to the show overall.
It’s interesting that they call Knots Landing a soap opera because it’s a serial drama and yet The Sopranos was a serial drama too and yet they never call it a soap opera. What gives?

Knots Landing went off the air the year I turned 11. I had probably heard of the show prior to the final season and enjoyed watching with my mom. I wish the complete series had been released on DVD or made available streaming.
