I learned to ice skate when my parents, without me knowing, took me to the ice rink. I put on my skates, and it was like I had known how to do this forever. Hope your experience is as flawless as mine!

Nyda As with any martial arts, you may be able to learn some badly performed movements in a couple of days. But to master a martial art you need literally years of practice and mind conditioning.
As a master of my master once said when achieving the 9th Dan rank: You know how to perform advanced techniques as a kyu in your first year, but you will spend your next 60 years learning to truly use one of the most basic ones.
My man its a tv show... why would I expect him to master jiu-Jitsu? The fun is seeing what he can learn in the short amount of time and the struggles in between then later seeing what he retains. Hes not going to Abu Dhabi at the end of week 1 lol.
Nyda I obviously don’t expect him to master it ;).
I just mean that it may be not really satisfying to test what he has learned.
The best that he can do in this time is some basic rolls and a stage sparing fight (which is not really what it is about).
How do you test the skill of a technique if the opponent has to help you perform it?
It is not really comparable to performing a song or learning a specific shot.
For the sake of the show I don’t mind it ofc :)

Dan masters around/alive, 9. Dan will be granted as a honorary achievement by several people. I am not sure about the 10. - I think that one belonged exclusively to O sensei.

HektikFlame I’m assuming this was the case for two reasons.
1.) He is pretty musical, and plays the guitar and has learned multiple instruments in his Learn Quick series.
2.) He probably played around with it a bit and got familiar in order to understand what it did and how to use it. The part with him learning was after he had already figured out how to use it, and was just trying to see what he could make with it.

I remeber when i used to play tackle football my coach made us do something she called, "the party after practice". Usually it was the bring Sally up challenge and she alternated from pushups to sit ups to burpees, and even squats. Good times.

@@lukescott711 I use an app on my phone to use premade songs and the sound comes out of a bluetooth speaker connected to my phone. To connect the launchpad to the phone you need otg adapter and plug that into the launchpad cord and then into your phone and the app works with it
