There’s nothing like coming out the Hospital to an Always Nerdy video. Dude always makes me entertained and i always learn something new from this video.
i actually remember playing this game a while back. when i was a really young teenager i was really into Marvel movies and games. i was hooked on the Iron Man and Hulk games for PS2. and the Captain America game on Xbox 360. so when i saw this game on the store shelf i knew i had to get it. though by the time i reached the near end i figured that it wasn't actually as good as the rest. i pretty much stopped playing it once i reached the siege of Asgard. it was way too difficult.
Great video. It was interesting seeing such an in depth look at the game. The game certainly did have a lot of potential. Thor really lends itself well to a God of War Type game given the combat ability and lore of the character. I do feel the game's combat could have been improved by taking more notes from God of War though. For example, grapples. In the Greek GOW games, you gain XP by getting large combo chains which reward a proportional amount of XP. So you're always encouraged to perform as well as you can in combat. For health and magic, you can gain some back by doing a grapple finisher to weakened enemies. I like this system because it allows you to have everything if you're skilled enough. If you're starting out, you may only get XP or only get Health/Magic since you may focus on one of these approaches. But as you get good at the game, you may start incorporating longer combo chains that end with a grapple finisher. So you both get extra XP from the combo chain, and health/magic from the grab. These even makes fights feel cooler with the grabs feeling exclamation marks for an enemy. It rewards both getting good with the mechanics but also paying attention to the fight as you usually have to manually keep track of how weakened an enemy is before going for the finisher. I feel this would have improved the combat significantly in Thor
Excellent timing! I’ll be seeing Thor Love and Thunder on Thursday, so I’ve been reminiscing on past Thor content. While I realise this game does suck, I’ve got a soft spot for it ha. Cheers for covering it!

I really wish we could get a AAA Thor game now. A huge gigantic game.. were you could go from the Start al the way to rune king thor. Have dlc branch offs for the mcu time line runs. And so on.. would be crazy
We need a deadpool video
It was like a double whammy of crap cause this came out very near to the game for the green lantern movie. Than we had a surprisingly decent captain America game for the movie later that summer. I miss movie tie in games.
For the next mcu game retrospective, do Incredible Hulk next since that is my favorite of the sega mcu games
It’s definitely one I’m looking forward to doing too! Hopefully sooner rather than later
@@alwaysnerdyretros I also quite enjoyed super soldier since it seem to borrow from the Arkham games in terms of gameplay
@@noahmagana137 I’m probably looking forward to that one the most if I’m being honest. I never got to play it when it released
Ya know what is funny the former producer of SEGA his name is Stephen Frost and what do ya know he is working on a Thor game where Thor is fighting frost giants so it was meant to be
This was a very unique retrospective and an unexpected one.. This game is more like a guilty pleasure, I donno if I am right but does it has couch co-op ? Such games are just blind fun

-Now a retrospective of:
•Iron Man
•Iron Man 2
•Captain America: Super Soldier
•The Incredible Hulk
•Lego Marvel Avengers
•Finally All the Nintendo Portable Versions of all these games
-Do all of this you can say “I have played all MCU Games”
Thor been seshing that valhalla zaza in the thumbnail
Yeah, I'd rather play this game than watch any Thor movie made after 2011. At least this one respects the lore of the comics and shows Thor to be a badass.
