  • Here is another goodie from the Golden Age of Hollywood animation. This one is notable as being the final episode in Coulmbia's long-running Krazy Kat cartoon series, which ended shortly after producer Charles Mintz was ousted in 1939. It was released as part of the "Phantasies" series in January, 1940. The Columbia Krazy, of course, bore little resemblance to George Herriman's classic comic strip character. In this cartoon he has a Joe Penner voice and is easily outsmarted and smacked around by the mouse. Rather a "routine" cartoon, yet it has some nifty animation and music as well as the charm most cartoons from this era possess.
