Can You Build Strong Trailing Arms with Only 2 Heim Joints?

I'm back and In todays video I'm fixing all the issues with the rear end of the buggy. The trailing arms have always been a problem as they were using nylon bushings that could develop slop in the rear end. So I'm replacing the bushings with Heim Joints. By using Heim Joints I have some adjustability so I can change the toe in and out of the rear end. I ended up going with between 1.5 - 2 degrees of rear camber, having a little bit of rear camber helps to keep tires level and planted during cornering.
I've had a few people tell me this wouldn't work and I cant recall why, but Id love to hear what you other builders and enthusiasts think about this design.
P.S. Yes, I did end up breaking my toe by dropping an 18lb trailing arm on it Lol

I was wondering when you'd fall foul of the flip flops! Hope the toe is ok. Good to see you back!
Gotta love the construction sandals 😂
Sorry about your foot, man
Bad ass man! Love home made fab work. I’m currently putting together a sandrail frame with a bug body sitting on it so it’s street legal and title able and have a j32a2 Honda v6 that will power it. I often work in flip flops but try to change out to shoes if I’m gonna use a carbide die grinder because I hate the metal slivers I’ll get in them. That trailing arm falling on your toe hurt my foot and you walked off and didn’t make a sound lol.
Its only the pain that hurts😊
Dude your foot!!! Hope you’re ok
Seems like you are a devote' of Ron White!
Damn man that looked like it hurt. Looks like your new rear suspension is going to work great!
Do you still have the lawn mower engine that you converted to side shaft?
I would like to see someone build a Ecoboost version of a small buggy. Maybe a GM version based off of front drive Trailblazer for bow tie groupies.
I'm kicking around some future projects you might like in that case 😜
@@DirtGearTv ram's ecodiesel would make for a cool turbo diesel build too
I missed you bud.
So you're the one 😂
im not a fan of flip flops lol
