So much good metalcore is coming out lately! First I Killed The Prom Queen, then Prepared Like A Bride, Architects and now For The Fallen Dreams. Awesome stuff from talented bands!
***** I can understand if you dislike these bands, but saying they're bad is profoundly ignorant. I Killed The Prom Queen and Architects are classic bands with excellent pedigree, Prepared Like A Bride's "Overcomer" is a fucking inspired masterpiece, and For the Fallen Dreams are finally coming into their own. I think it's an excellent time to be a metalcore fan. I'm sorry if you dislike the music, but I find it difficult to objectively say any of the bands I mentioned are mediocre musicians, songwriters or performers.
awesome, happy for ftfd to creating stuff that's fresh and original (not that they ever haven't). the snare-chorus at the end is really awesome, definitively a unique touch. can't wait for this album to release!
I know most might say only a handful of songs is good on this, but I enjoy all cause in each song I can relate to most of he says throughout the album.
Which song was that? Big fan of both bands but I can't say I've been able to spot any vocals by Chad on TCM's second album. Would love to check it out though.
Chad takes this band back to their roots. Which has always been their best music imo. So glad he's back. Dylan was taking them down the fan-girl-sound road. Glad he's gone and Chad came back. Always been a huge fan of these guys.
Its funny to see a lot of people here not happy with the "New sound", not realizing this closer to what they sounded like before on Changes and even some of Relentless. Theyre going back to their roots which is so much better than the albums after Relentless
EntangleMyWebs Lol,thanks. I read these posts from my email and seriously cracked up. Prove it though?! Listen to any one song off of Know Hope. First 5 seconds should give you an answer.
I feel like the band is releasing singles that sound like they could be taken from (or added to, technically) each of their albums. Substance - Changes Emerald Blue - Relentless Dream Eater - Back Burner This is just my opinion, but Dream Eater sounds like Back Burner more than anything they've released since that album. And if my theory is true, I'm not too excited for their 4th single that'll sound like its from Wasted Youth.
Ben Lindblom Who gives a fuck? Does it have to sound different for it to be good? To be completely honest, this song makes me bounce. It isn't technical by any means but it is incredibly fun to listen to.
i actually lost faith in ftfd for a bit till more of there new album came out which makes me happy because honestly i love chad and all but in my opinion dylan made ftfds just different like every album had something to it that made it amazing. i wish this album came out already holy fuck ;-;
I dont hear generic at all IMO.... So many people are uptight about their music nowadays. Im not picky. I love this shit. And if i dont like a song i wont comment and leave it be. Which is what all the haters should do.
It's better than Wasted Youth, but that's because it's average FTFD. That's not a bad thing, it just sounds like it'd fit comfortably in Changes or Relentless (aside from that Garrett Rapp cameo) instead of being something that sounds newer.
As much as i liked Dylan in the band i also enjoyed Chad. This is probably the best stuff he is putting out with this band. Dylan's cleans were good and all but this is more unique and not as much cleans and more screams. Much better sound i say.
galacticbeaver Production is essential, but overproduction can ruin a mix by making it sound fake, inauthentic. You want to capture the sound and make it sound spectacular, but not completely indeterminable from how it was originally captured. I don't personally think this is too overproduced, but I don't particularly care for Rise mixes, mostly because they tend to drown out the melody with the percussion and rhythm guitar chugs.
Killtrox You're right about production being essential. And Rise has a bad track record (at least I've noticed it more in these past 2 years or so) of what seems like mass producing these cookie-cutter, insincere, wishy-washy bands that all seem to adhere to this same old formula Rise Records has dreamt up as being what metalcore fans want to hear.
I totally agree with you. Have you heard their wasted youth album? I was digging a few songs but everything is way overproduced in my opinion. I'll have to give this new album a listen, sounds sick so far but relentless is my favorite from them
Rise, please put Ft. Garret Rapp in the title of this video. You are so quick to mention features that contain Tyler Carter, so why not return the favor to another amazing vocalist?
Lol to everyone saying this is generic. They released Changes in what, 2003? They've been doing it since 2003 so they're not the generic ones. Back then they were doing this and it changed the scene. It's not bad, I'll still listen to it but Changes will always be the best.
The only difference between now and when Dylan was about is the dynamics of the vocals. They both write and sing about the same stuff. Musically the band is exactly the same so really its more of a focus on the sound that was already there. Not a good thing in my opinion but thats just me!
Yup, then as usual all the diehard For The Fallen Dreams fans come and spam me crap for that comment, yet give me no reason to believe that they aren't. Don't tell me to grow up because I insulted your favorite band. Tell me to grow up after you explained to me why FTFD isn't generic. Oh, and go check out ERRA and AristeiA. Those are some really good, unique bands.
Just when I thought this song couldn't get more awesome, Garrett Rapp sneaks in and makes it more awesome!!!
I'm loving the harder growls. Has more passion to it
2017 and still bumping. This album is so underappreciated.
So much good metalcore is coming out lately! First I Killed The Prom Queen, then Prepared Like A Bride, Architects and now For The Fallen Dreams. Awesome stuff from talented bands!
Gragas listens to metal xD
Mario Sousa I was just gonna say that hahahaha
Everyone should jam Prepared Like A Bride!
***** I can understand if you dislike these bands, but saying they're bad is profoundly ignorant. The Reason I hear Core-Music.
This is what for the fallen dreams should be. This has the same feeling as the first 2 albums and i love it!
I remember when they first started out as a Christian band. They've changed, but I like it.
The best album since changes hands down.
very keen to hear the new work, ive always loved changes above any other ftfd album, welcome back chad
awesome, happy for ftfd to creating stuff that's fresh and original (not that they ever haven't). the snare-chorus at the end is really awesome, definitively a unique touch. can't wait for this album to release!
I like it, cant wait to see them with Miss Nay I in a few months!
I know most might say only a handful of songs is good on this, but I enjoy all cause in each song I can relate to most of he says throughout the album.
Garrett is returning the favor for Chad featuring in TCM's second album. Good choice.
Which song was that? Big fan of both bands but I can't say I've been able to spot any vocals by Chad on TCM's second album. Would love to check it out though.
Dane M My bad bro, it's their third album. I forgot about the first for some reason. Check out "Human(s) being" on My Devil in Your Eyes album.
***** That's their second album though?
galacticbeaver Yes... yes it is.
Chad is back. Loud and clear.
Much better than the first song released. Also Garrett Rapp is the man
Saw FTFD live with Senses Fail back in October, fucking awesome show. Chad was on crutches at the time and still managed to kill it.
This reminds me of older Bury Your Dead, especially the verses and the way the chords are structured.
I'm glad to see them staying to their roots
These guys are going to go so hard live
Legend and FTFD
I can't wait for this album! Their new stuff really has a nu metal esque, deftones influence to it. It sounds amazing.
Cheers!
Holy crap! That was amazing. I'm loving metal this year so far
For The Fallen Dreams is my favorite band. It's so sad that Dylan quited.
So stoked on this! Chad Rulig is back?! So tastey as always. Loving this FTFD.
-Devon
Still waiting to hear that old melodic hardcore flavor I used to love from you guys but this sounds great!
Chad takes this band back to their roots. Which has always been their best music imo. So glad he's back. Dylan was taking them down the fan-girl-sound road. Glad he's gone and Chad came back. Always been a huge fan of these guys.
At 2:18 that sounds just like Garrett Rapp from The Color Morale, that's crazy
Dylans vocals and lyrics to this music would be amazing.
this shit is so dope. Totally getting this album
good!
I hear Garrett!
your profile picture is awesome x'D
Really digging the guitar
This song is making me want to buy this album on vinyl
So good
I don't care what any of you say chad is a beast band has always badass representing Michigan
Wow my mind is blown didn't realize garret was in this
Its funny to see a lot of people here not happy with the "New sound", not realizing this closer to what they sounded like before on Changes and even some of Relentless. Theyre going back to their roots which is so much better than the albums after Relentless
YAY THEY ARE BACK!
Definitely Garret Rapp from The color morale
Prove it?
Chris Davies He told you where to go looking for what he sounds like, so how about you prove it for yourself.
EntangleMyWebs Lol,thanks. I read these posts from my email and seriously cracked up.
Prove it though?! Listen to any one song off of Know Hope. First 5 seconds should give you an answer.
this album is going to be the heaviest FFTD yet!!!
i can dig this!!
holy shit this crushes any track off the Memphis May Fire album ,i actually like this track MMF let me down but these guys picked me back up lol
Sound so sick!
Dang it FTFD Y U SO GOOD!?
I feel like the band is releasing singles that sound like they could be taken from (or added to, technically) each of their albums.
Substance - Changes
Emerald Blue - Relentless
Dream Eater - Back Burner
This is just my opinion, but Dream Eater sounds like Back Burner more than anything they've released since that album.
And if my theory is true, I'm not too excited for their 4th single that'll sound like its from Wasted Youth.
Good lyrics! Awesome song btw :)
Does anyone else hear the fart noise in the pre-chorus/verse thing? 0:39 2:11
Ayyy garrett!!
Just sounds like Chase hit 'reboot' on the whole FTFD deal, I like.
singer at 2:22 onwards sounds like garett rapp
In my opinion this is even better than Emerald Blue *o*! And I really liked that song
Holy shit! This is amazing! I'm actually pretty siked for this album!
What is the pedal used in the background? 2:28 and so on?
There is nothing more generic than a comment talking about being generic
Just because you say that, does not make this song any less generic. It was quite disappointing in my opinion.
Ben Lindblom Who gives a fuck? Does it have to sound different for it to be good? To be completely honest, this song makes me bounce. It isn't technical by any means but it is incredibly fun to listen to.
owningall It doesn't have to sound different to be good. You are correct, but it is not even fun to listen to IMO. It is boring.
Ben Lindblom Fair enough. Opinions are awesome!
owningall Lets go get some burritos
The best song from this album so far, this is IMO better than Emerald blue.
Sounds a lot like Bury Your Dead on Cover Your Tracks albums, aside from the clean vocals and melodic choruses of course.
I definitely do hear that. Glad im not the only one that knows that band haha
Epic!
i actually lost faith in ftfd for a bit till more of there new album came out which makes me happy because honestly i love chad and all but in my opinion dylan made ftfds just different like every album had something to it that made it amazing. i wish this album came out already holy fuck ;-;
That Garret Rapp though
omg garret !
the guitars are so loud...
you're right dude. you should totally mix their next album instead of a professional
blindingstares great word
Toxin08 Maybe I should.
listen to their old stuff though, thats how its always been
TCM and FTFD both recorded at the same place lol
WANT IT !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I dont hear generic at all IMO.... So many people are uptight about their music nowadays. Im not picky. I love this shit. And if i dont like a song i wont comment and leave it be. Which is what all the haters should do.
Get em' chad!
Digging this screamer a lot.
I can hear some the ghost inside influence I'm this !! :) fucking awesome stuff!! Definitley gonna grab the album
I actually thought this was the ghost inside for years.
Dope
Me parece que no eran necesarias las voces limpias, pero a pesar de todo me vista este nuevo FTFD.
best band on rise records?
Garett definitly... Me like, me like..oh yess
That's The Name Of A Pokemons Move "Dream Eater"Used After Your Enemy Is Asleep.
Amazing
It's better than Wasted Youth, but that's because it's average FTFD. That's not a bad thing, it just sounds like it'd fit comfortably in Changes or Relentless (aside from that Garrett Rapp cameo) instead of being something that sounds newer.
Is this the song with garrett from TCM?
Fuckin lyrics dude fuck very inspiring thanks guys its bands like this that change the world :)
This song grows on you :3
Just saw this song as a recommendation. How long has this band been out?
SO FUCKING STOKED!!!!
Are these lyrics about a Pokemon trainer?
That album art is sick next to MMI
Gengar!!!
gettin tired of all these people complaining, if you don't like it, fuck off to another genre, I doubt the band cares if you don't like it.
You all have problems, this is fucking amazing.
Most of this sounds like Jim though. It's so hard to tell Jim and Garretts voices apart sometimes lol
As much as i liked Dylan in the band i also enjoyed Chad. This is probably the best stuff he is putting out with this band. Dylan's cleans were good and all but this is more unique and not as much cleans and more screams. Much better sound i say.
Fuck yes.
Is that garret? Because those are his lyrics? Haha "I didn't choose this, i was chose"
this is fucking good.
Maybe I'm being nitpicking but it sounds a bit overproduced to me. I like this better than emerald blue though and I'm super stoked chad is back.
50% of what Rise Records puts out sounds overproduced. FTFD will always be awesome though.
But production is good
galacticbeaver Production is essential, but overproduction can ruin a mix by making it sound fake, inauthentic. You want to capture the sound and make it sound spectacular, but not completely indeterminable from how it was originally captured.
I don't personally think this is too overproduced, but I don't particularly care for Rise mixes, mostly because they tend to drown out the melody with the percussion and rhythm guitar chugs.

mhmmm *drools*

Changes came out on January 2008. lol
Other than that i agree, this is FTFD's typical sound back again after 2 albums, which completely satisfies me.
Whoops, I don't know why I put that hahaha.
aeeeeeeeeeee
Not a big fan of this band, but holy fuck does this make me want to scream, shout, and fist the sky.
You can fist me.
The only difference between now and when Dylan was about is the dynamics of the vocals. They both write and sing about the same stuff. Musically the band is exactly the same so really its more of a focus on the sound that was already there. Not a good thing in my opinion but thats just me!
Is that jim singing
anyone else get a James Taylor vibe from the vocals?
Is that Garrett Rapp?
Yup, then as usual all the diehard For The Fallen Dreams fans come and spam me crap for that comment, yet give me no reason to believe that they aren't. Don't tell me to grow up because I insulted your favorite band. Tell me to grow up after you explained to me why FTFD isn't generic.
Oh, and go check out ERRA and AristeiA. Those are some really good, unique bands.
WATCH LATER.
