Great job on this video! Thank you for going into detail all the facts about Ysabelle's scoliosis and how severe her condition had been. My daughter has severe scoliosis and wanted the same tether surgery as Ysabelle. Tether surgery is NOT covered by insurance and it isn't considered a medically necessary surgery(complete nonsense i.m.o). Many scoliosis groups tell you a step by step process from GoFundMe to contacting your local news stations and different crowd sourcing. Sometimes hospitals like Shriners Children's will cover the cost but only in younger children who haven't stopped growing, this is why my kid isn't able to get the procedure. The tether recovery from start to finish is 3-4mo's vs la spinal fusion like what I suspect your girlfriend went through was probably a entire year recovery process. I don't agree with not having insurance for the kids but in Ysabelle's case insurance doesn't cover the less invasive surgery.

Then he could throw his hands up and say ,”see Meri is a bad wife , she doesn’t love me , she cheated on me !” Knowing full well she was lonely because HE hadn’t been a husband to her in years ! I got so heated when Kody said he couldn't go to his daughters surgery because no man can be away from his family for that long.
My oldest had surgery two weeks ago and the only reason why my husband wasn't with us (and the only good reason in my opinion) was because my husband is underway (out to sea he's in the navy). My husband felt guilty that he couldn't be there for our child and he would have had he not been in the ocean.

I don’t see one flicker of God in any of KBs character. Having run into Robyn several times, she is also void of any humility, humbleness, class, education, and is anything but kind.

The destruction was Kody's narcissism. He needed the high of the ego boost. He no longer got that from the little kids looking up to him or the wives praising him for being an involved father. Robyn was giving it to him by treating him as her best customer, as she put it. He was jealous when he saw all of his wives drool over the Darger husband, who has his crap much more together than chaotic Kody. And the Dargers advocated for one house. That's when Kody pushed one house so he could be the king and have his wives admire him as much as they admired Darger. But they didn't go for it and it was a massive narc injury. And he told them they could leave but in his mind, they were supposed to leave by saying, "it's not you; it's me" and spare his ego. Instead, they called him out for being a crappy father. And he responded by showing the world that he's an overall crappy person. Because his narcissism can't take that public rejection.

Seeing Kody's house of cards just fall apart has been satisfying. He's the kind of guy who _needs_ to be revered and respected. He cares so much about appearances and controlling the narrative. But when you're on TV for years and years, your mask _will_ slip. He was already kind of disliked at the beginning, but with time he became the perfect example of a narcissist trying and failing to keep everyone under his control, and how unstable and immature they can be when they aren't at the top anymore.

So while on its own I don’t think it automatically means he’s a selfish person, being connected to a patriarchal religion really ups those odds.

The destruction was the inequality, thats about it. The newest wife became the favourite, got most of the money that the original wives were earning, (she on the other hand refused to get a job). Then she got the biggest house, her kids with her first husband got preferential treatment, then of course the two kids she had with Kod got preferential treatment once they came along.
Kod basically decided he wanted to be monogamous with her, but keep the three original wives as packhorses providing Kod and Robber (Robyn) with cash. He didnt want to have sex with the three original wives (probably a blessing), he didn't want to spend time with them but more importantly, he lost total interest in the non Robber children.
    Thats about it.
Polygamy as a rule is nonsense, it was invented by men, for men as an excuse to legitimately comit infidelity. One man cannot financially, emotionally and physically take care of a herd of kids, its a ridiculous way of life that people should be ashamed of.

It seems to me, that the reason Kody, "loves" Robyn so much, is because she is the best at "loving" him.
This man seems to be completely enamored with himself, and after over a decade of women, that aren't so smitten with him, anymore, young Robyn comes in , and makes him feel special, and wanted again. I think he just loves how she makes him feel.

I think that Meri thought that her great sacrifice of her legal marriage to Kody was like an insurance policy that would make her position of “First Wife” more permanent and secure. She made herself completely vulnerable. And, her reward for trusting Kody and Robin…really all of the adults, would be a real respect and security.
Kody dropped her like a hot potato, just as soon as she dissolved their legal marriage. He really is despicable. And, Robyn is just as horrible. She manipulated Meri into feeling protective of her. Robyn ran with the power, the second Meri released her legal claims on the family.

Their behavior was horrible and manipulative. I started watching again in season 17 because I had heard that Christine had left Kody. I loved seeing that season, and then went back to stream seasons 13,14,15 and 16, with the knowledge that Christine fought back and left. Because people still think the role of a male is to drop in and help pay the bills and MAYBE help with the kids; sometimes.
My husband tried to give Tom Cruise koodos for still paying for his estranged daughters bills since he and mom divorced when the kid was 12. I reminded him that through 18, he was legally required to pay half that girls bills. And he's got the money that SEVERAL college educations should be paid by that man every year.
Husband said he wouldn't pay bills of he couldn't his kid. I had to again, remind him, that in America at 12 years old a kid can decide contact and if they have to go to daddy on the weekends daddy has custody.
A man withdrawals support from his child because he doesn't get to play/see/live/talk to his kid is fucking NASTY. But our society doesn't call that shit out. The attitude is EXPECTED.

This is the most comprehensive summary of this twisted up family I’ve ever watched. I’ve only watched Sister Wives off and on throughout the years but from the very first season when he was “courting” Robin while poor Christine was pregnant I could only see this headed in one direction. (I think most people probably saw this ending the same way.) I am just surprised it took this long. I guess that big paycheck from the TV show was enough to “keep them together.”
Thank you so much. It really breaks down every aspect of the evolution of the family’s implosion. I feel terrible for the children. Especially the oldest boys. With no same-sex parent consistently in the household they had to be the “man” of the house instead of just getting to be kids like they should have.
Hopefully they learned how NOT to be a husband or father from their dad and they will be excellent family men in their own right.

What ruined the family? I’d say 100% Robyn. The money and fame came from the show, but how the money was spent showed the disparity in the relationships. He favored R and showed it by using the money coming in all on her and her kids. Seeing how he favored her led to their demise. Before then it was all fair, with her the difference was felt and seen

I disagree, I would say that Cody was always a narcissist - he had his attention needs fueled in the earlier days and as more and more moved out of his toxic sphere his need for fuel was being starved. There are always red flags and they were so blatant. Cody is not an intelligent man. Yes, Robyn was pivotal in the changing of the dynamics and I suspect highly narcissistic herself but Cody himself was the found of this broken unit. Yes golden children and black sheep - this is how the title should have changed over time.
Never trust cults. There are always toxic personality disorders involved.

      Kody first most blame
Sobby second manipulating things to get her way and control over Kody was her ticket. Why she catered to him and was in his ear. Why she alienated the family over time and got Meri kicked out of top position to the point she ended up all the way out. Catfish looking like a set up from Sobby to end Kody caring about meri. We see how Sobby pretends to care and say one thing but when with Kody off camera it’s another story. Sometimes on camera she does it but she comes up with stupid I’m scared reasons to make sure Kody doesn’t reconnect. Why she wanted to wedge herself into all the other wives being able to speak with Kody because she “speaks Kody”.

    Excellent job!
I feel the actual move to Vegas was because Sobyn felt left out because she wasn’t living in the same house. And Vegas was definitely to be near her parents. All went well in Vegas until the homes were built and everyone saw exactly where he was spending all his time. In Vegas the homes were in all the wives individual names, except Meri’s some have said Sobyn’s? He wanted to get control of all the money and no longer wanted to deal with everyone knowing where he was. Him and Sobyn decided to move to Flagstaff either Dayton applied to college there or him and Sobyn told him to apply there. He then got control over all the money, which he believes is his and Sobyn’s. Covid was the perfect excuse for him not to show up any more at their homes. They expected the others to continue on “staying sweet” and handing over all the money from TLC, along with probably some of their from the MLM. Meri said clearly in the last season she was still giving to the family fund. The snake a few times had mentioned that Meri build, so she could pay the huge expense of bringing infrastructure to property.

To be fair, polygamy isn’t inherently bad, cult polygamy is. Being told it’s a woman’s duty to please her husband and have tons of children is bad. Having more children then you can handle is bad. Having favorites in family is bad. Being trapped with nowhere to go is bad. Using polygamy as an excuse to “shop around” is bad. A few consenting adults with open communication who care about each others feelings are fine.

    • @SesshyLover777
      @SesshyLover777 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

I would push back on this simply to say bigamy would be safer. Legal protections for wives, husbands, partners, and children in all of this would be necessary for me to agree with you totally! Besides that, great point 👍

    • @aceinashoppingcart
      @aceinashoppingcart 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

I agree. I think polygamy *can* work in the sense of polyamory. Yes, we need more legal protection for the people in the relationship and it all needs to be done in moderation. Poly relationships should have, first and foremost, open communication and consent.
When it's just a person gathering a harem of spouses (usually one man and many women), no input wanted from the existing partners before bringing in another, that's when it really gets problematic.

Before he got national health insurance in my country, where we live today, he was hospitalized from the ER for a day, including catheterization because of his heart. 27 hours in total, procedure and admission to the cardiac ICU ended up costing us the equivalent of 5.5K$. So high 6 figures for weeks of hospitalization would not surprise me.

This one really took me a while to watch. I had to watch in segments because, well, fucking shit like this sickens me. It truly does. This religion screams brainwashing women and girls and that does not fucking fly with me! I'm extremely protective of women and girls. It's always how I've been, and I know that it's because I don't want them to go through the same thing I've gone through in my life with males. It's not right. Nothing is ever right with religions that abuse children! Anyway, I'll spare you from my rant. Happy New Year's...eve.
      Oh!
Tomorrow, January 1, 2024, will be my 1,096th day or 3 years of sobriety from alcohol. This is the longest I've been sober since I was 15. 20 years of drinking definitely took a toll on me, but I am one of the lucky ones who made it, as well as my twin sister. I'm so proud of her. She's my baby sister, even if it's only by 2 minutes and I'm so happy for her. I'm forever grateful to have her in my life.
      Damn... I'm getting too emotional.
Anyway ~~ I hope to see you back on here soon, love! I'm excited to know what you have planned for us next! Want to drop any hints for us?

I’m so glad that Christine had the courage to pack up and leave, with her children, yes her children. How hard was it to give a child you sired , a cup of water, a cup of milk, a cup of orange juice, a cup of soda? Being a father, how could you stop being a father. I’m also happy Janelle and Meri followed Christine’s lead. All three of these educated women were the bread winners, they were the money makers, they went to work since Kody wouldn’t, he didn’t want to be away from Robin to long. These beautiful women Christine, Janelle, Meri, used their education to make money to give to Kody so he could use, to buy a wife and to portrayed what a great husband to one he was. I’m glad they came to their senses. ❤
