- Let us introduce you to the new project that Michael Canadas and David Robinson are undertaking, the restoration of a Virginia farm house from the 1800's. This is going to be an interesting adventure, oh, and yes, have no fear, there will be dolls involved.

This is indeed a special place tucked away. Not very many left. It looks like most of the lumber in the out buildings came from an old sawmill which was probably local at one time. We have chickens and they are very amusing, but dogs, coyotes, skunks and hawks will always be a threat. Fresh eggs from your chickens are way, way better than from the grocery. You have wonderful adventure ahead. I think you will some deer here as well.

We restored a circa 1745 cape in Ma. It took us 28 years. It was difficult but a joy. We learned many things, joined museums and yet the work is much. Good luck with this project.

Loving this tour and so looking forward to seeing the inside of the home in a future video. Wow I would love to rummage thru those out buildings. The bike was very interesting. You do know that there are people who will dig under the outhouse for you. I have friends who found fabulous treasures under their outhouse that were thrown down the toilet. Might want to look into that too. Oh how I wish I lived closer and could look at everything especially the attic. Have tons of fun.

I loved this video - looking forward to more. Only thing - I wanted to open those old trunks and see more what finds are in all those barns. I hope you do let us see what happens when cleaning out and repairing the barns too.

When we bought our small farm in 1998, friends and relatives thought we were crazy! Now, they all like to visit and tell us they envy us.
Everyone needs a place to unwind, be that where they live, a second home or a favourite vacation spot. I'm so glad you now have yours.

I am reminded of one of my favorite "decor" books-Country Livings "Seasons at Seven Gates Farm" . A much older, more primitive, property but their fixing up of the house and the out buildings remind me of yours. How many acres came with the house? I will be following you closely!

What a beautiful property, I can't to wait to see what you do with it! Most likely there was a log cabin on the property at one time. It may still be there as the house may have been built around it. My Grandmother's house had an outhouse too. We used it until the 1960's when she finally moved to town. The sofa in the barn looks interesting.. I would be fun to know who was the original owner of the farm and to research them.

Love it! I think opportunities present themselves once in your lifetime and you have to grab them. If you had that wonderful feeling of serenity there 25 years ago it will be the perfect place for you both. i have a picture of you both transforming the property into somewhere wonderful. But more importantly somewhere to retreat to and enjoy your very precious alone time. Look forward to sharing your new journey

I hope you are aware that you have a ground ivy invasion. We call it creeping charlie here in Wisconsin. I have been battling it for years. It is very difficult to eradicate.
