Airstream Nerds - There has been a couple of situations when a "dash cam" would have come in handy during my travels to various Texas State Parks. Keep up the GREAT videos!!!
I purchased a Garmin 785 with the built in dash cam. It is a heavier unit and when on the dash it vibrated too much. Now that we have a motorhome I couldn't mount it on the window because it would be too far away to see the navigation and manipulate the screen. I returned it to Amazon and purchased the 770 like you have. Its not a bad GPS but using the RV parks feature it doesn't pick up all state parks so I have to use Google on my phone to get the address. We've also experienced some minor navigation issues out West where the database got confused on some Interstate on/off ramps. I did a map upgrade when I got it so maybe there is a newer update. I still put my phone in navigation mode on a mount on the dash so I can compare the two. Sometimes the 770 will take you out of the way because of the RV dimensions and I've had it lead me up some narrow country roads in Arkansas where tree limbs scrapped the roof of my motorhome. I plan the route the night before and check it against what Google maps shows. I don't trust it completely. In general its a good tool but don't be complacent about accepting its routing.
Take a look at the video information on TH-cam (the little drop arrow will open up window). The link to the ball mount is there from ProClips. I got the mount from the same place. Thanks for asking!
Great video - as always. Did you consider the Garmin RV785 th-cam.com/video/o87YkEuoUUM/w-d-xo.html I’m leaning towards the 785 because it has a built in “dash cam”. Hope you find the attache 780 v. 785 helpful.
I definitely considered the 785 but I was not interested in the dash cam and that is the main difference. The 770 and 780 are virtually identical with the main differences that the 780 can use 3D maps and the screen ratio is a little different. I am happy with my choice. Thanks for watching!
Nope - have only ever had positive feedback about the intro song. It is supposed to be campy since that is the main topic of my channel. The intro theme is around 20 seconds and the exit music is only a few notes...I won't hold it against you to skip them. When we started this channel we had music running through the whole video and had lots of complaints so we stopped that but like I said only good comments about the intro song. Thanks for watching!
Not sure why you start a video and then go to some kind of lame introduction.. but I guess it's as logical as making sure we KNOW which is the front and the back of the GPS unit. Also good you spent time on a "former" GPS which I'm sure most of us DON'T have, and then proceed to throw around the parts. Lost count of how many times you dropped things. And if you're not sure if something still comes with the unit (antenna for traffic) then don't mention it. When you got to the part where you turned it on, then mentioned that you hadn't seen it or run through it, I turned YOU off. Lame video man.
I hope you have a better day tomorrow. When I see something online that I think is not helpful to me I just click the next thing and keep going. If this was such a waste of time why did you feel the need to comment?

I agree and I may add a different dash cam at a later date. Thanks for compliment and for watching.

KJRitch I completely agree about using it as just one tool in the toolbox. Thanks for the feedback!
Can you get a wireless rear camera for this?
The Garmin BC 30 is compatible but I have not used it amzn.to/3u82aAl
Thks for the Video. Can you tell us where you found the mounting bracket for the F150?

Awesome! TY
They just released the RV 890 GPS
Other than the screen size there is not much different than the 770...definitely not worth upgrading from the 770.

I have always liked your content in the videos you post. But, the music you choose for intro and exit is "horrible". Surely, you've heard this before.

@@AirstreamNerds So hopefully you wouldn't make the same mistake again.
