    Such wonderful people! The icu, recovery, treatment facility, doctors and specialist are amazing! What a wonderful place for them. Thank you so much for all your love and care for these beautiful primates. Life just wouldn't be as grand without them! Gotta love orangutans!!🤗🍌🐵🍌🍉🌿🐵🍑🌳🍓🐵🙏💞

    I'm now watching a video about a nursery and rehabilitation of orphan Orangutans on Orangutan Island. There are still some wonderful people in this world. Gives me a little more hope for our planet.

    I understand your eagerness to breed and raise orangutans and get their numbers up. The problem with breeding them is that there are already too many orangutans living in rescue facilities that that have been rehabilitated and are ready to be released into the wild, but they can't be released because there isn't enough space for them. Orangutans are solitary animals and require a relatively large area to claim as "theirs" and there just isn't enough space for any more of them until either the ones already out there start dying off, or more land is reclaimed from the palm oil corporations. But, once that land is reclaimed it still takes many many years, perhaps in the neighborhood of a century or more to be ready for habitation again. You can't just say they're ready and throw them out into the woods and expect everything to be alright. In other words, let's work on getting the ones we already have released before we start intentionally breeding more and having a bigger problem.

      I don't know... Who said they can only live in rainforests?! It is said, but I never heard a 100% piece of strong evidence. They are like us humans, adaptable. And yes, they need a variety of food. The rainforest is where they belong. That's why I donate money to rainforest- projects (to save orangutans)
      So I'm at your side in this.
      But I'm not so sure if they will disappear when the rainforest is gone. Hundreds years from now they might have found other ways :-)

      @@irenevandereijk7499 Well farmers kill them when they raid their crops because their natural habitat has been destroyed. They are the seen as thieves and pests even though this is one way they do to adapt to what happened to their habitat.

      @ OP, I agree and after listening to this video, it seems they separate them from their mothers which is not a natural thing to do. I prefer the methods of other sanctuaries who rescue orphaned orangutans and buying some islands to release these rescues. Plus, they make the community work hand in hand with them so that both humans and orangutans can live in harmony because one reason orangutans are being killed, aside from deforestation is poverty.

      O certo era liberar a criação e trazer pro ocidente. Aqui no Brasil eles teriam um otimo bioma para viver.

    @HickW Yes, to compare this video to other conservation projects from ideologists like Birute Galdikas with Orangutan Foundation International or Vicar Jacques Maessen with Sintang Orangutan Center,
    I come to the conclusion that this sanctuary can get all the equipment and staff that they want to have,thanks to the palm oil industry.The government wants to appease both sides.

    You are indeed correct. The Orang babies do get more resources, attention, medical treatment and food than so many of the human children who live in the countryside. I guarantee there are far more heartbroken human mothers than there are Orang mothers from loosing their children. Do not get me wrong, the Orangs are endangered and that is tragic but so too is suffering and loss of human life. The whole situation is horrible...

    @TheJuniperbug Us humans are responsible for the oragutans almost being extinct, so it's also our responsibility to help as many orangutans as we possibly can! That's the least we can do!

    Theme parks like this so fun! The orangutans really thrive and multiply. There are millions of orangutans in these theme parks. Monitored 24 hours on a daily basis just like the wild. Such a scam!

    This should be a sanctuary for needy orangutans not a reproductive clinic.

  • @whatevergoesforme5129
    @whatevergoesforme5129 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Wait? Did I get this right? This baby orangutan was not raised by his own mother? Unless he was rejected by his mom, why would you do that? Why separate the infants from their mothers who can teach them how to behave like orangutans unless their moms are too humanized and could not be freed into the wild? Plus, they need their mothers milk for immunity against germs that affect their species and the kind of bonding only their natural mother can give them.

    • @elliesouza717
      @elliesouza717 ปีที่แล้ว

      They didn't separate them. The mothers are killed by farmers or those wanting them for bush meat and the babies become pets. These people rescue them from home where the families either cannot or will not care for them properly

    They have it better than human orphans could you imagine a place that had a surrogate mom for every orphan kid no way it is disgusting we spend so much more on them because they peddle to your hearts to suck your money from
    Your wallet

    • @keithmuehsam8990
      @keithmuehsam8990 ปีที่แล้ว

      Exactly. We should be taking care of human babies so they can grow up and contribute to the world. No orangutan has ever amounted to snything

    • @elliesouza717
      @elliesouza717 ปีที่แล้ว

      Please, you don't actually care about human orphans. You hate these animals and pretending to care about human babies makes you seem morally superior. Allowing a species to go extinct does not benefit anyone. They do not take money from human orphans. We can all do something to benefit the world and this is how they are going that. I just wonder how much you've done to help the human orphans you claim to live

  • @keithmuehsam8990
    @keithmuehsam8990 ปีที่แล้ว
