    I watched this when I was a kid and was so disappointed when it was canceled. It was delightful to watch Wink hosting "Tic Tac Dough" at night, and this show whenever there was no school since this was on in the daytime.

    Jeff Smulyan went on to run one of the bigger radio empires in the USA, Emmis Communications - and it all started with the Shelbyville station, which he'd bought just a few months before this show aired, and which Emmis still owns. Wink, if you have the next day's show, can you make that your next like-target goal? There's probably a lot of radio people who'd love to see how this turned out...

      that is super amazing to learn real legendary history just so great to learn about, my Friend Ellis Feaster who worked as a dj for countless stations probably met him and has a few airchecks of his ill check his megasized videos to see he might have them still he has done so many so far tv and radio history is so fun and amazing.

    While I always felt that the "Gambit Galaxy" was inappropriate for the show (Seriously? Dice on a card-themed game show?), I do like the fact that here if it wasn't won, the jackpot grew until it was won.

    • @davidstephens7465

      The dice table was originally part of the game show "High Rollers"(which Wink would go on to host later...) produced by the same company. When the show was cancelled they folded the dice table into "Gambit". It was an...interesting hybrid, but I liked the Gambit Galaxy with cards better because you could walk away with nice prices without having to win it all.

    Wink, I like how you tried to explain how the Gambit set was now a casino, hence the presence of a dice table too. Big Numbers was still a weird addition to Gambit, though, in my opinion. Wonder if, had LVG lasted longer, would any other side games based on any other casino games have been added? If you still used the Gambit Board, maybe drawing the right number could have permitted players to do something with, say, a slot machine.

    • @Tubewings
      @Tubewings 9 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I highly doubt "Las Vegas Gambit" would have used a slot machine. I think Mr. Martindale's other boss probably had exclusive rights to use slot machines on game shows at the time.

    If my figuring is right, based on the list Wink rattled off after the win, it looks like they went through 18 consecutive Gambit Galaxy rounds between the last winner and this show. I'm figuring they went at least three full weeks of episodes without a win to get to this point.
