A few tips from a sick kid who became a chronically ill adult: When you make the appointments for the draws, ask if you can have the pediatric phlebotomist do it. They’re much more likely to be kind and not pushy - or outright rude - about your situation. Music, sugar (lollipops/sucking candies), fluids - water or Gatorade, alcohol prep pads for nausea (to sniff - do NOT consume medical alcohol!) are all great ways to help get through the unpleasant parts. Picking a non-swear swear is also useful. Mine has been “Henry Kissinger” since 2007. I do warn people in advance that it’s basically a swear so they don’t think I’m invoking that genocidal monster lol. Sending love your way!
Ohh, I forgot the lidocaine. Thank you! I don’t know the current general - or her OBs specific - guidelines on NSAID use in pregnancy. So be sure to check with whoever prescribed your draws first. But for the non-pregnant people who aren’t getting any clotting factors checked, absolutely! 👍
Tip for blood tests that I never follow myself and always regret: drink loads of water. Make sure you are 100% hydrated. If you’re dehydrated you’re more likely to feel sick and faint. I never drink enough water and always feel sick and faint and only have myself to blame 😅
Or its out of your control. I feinted at my first blood draw at 11 weeks. I was distracting myself pretty wel for the first couple minutes but then i started feeling it coming on and only had enough time to tell the nurse that i didnt feel good before i woke up on the floor lol😅 The staff said in the future i always need to be lying down to have my blood taken so if i faint they can still finish getting all the blood haha

oh this is so exciting!! im also pregnant right now (16w+5d) and weve shared so many experiences already. I have always had a very rough time getting blood drawn, but during pregnancy ive had such an easy time, I guess because of differences in blood pressure before vs during pregnancy. I had to do an early glucose test because of a history with PCOS, and was very nervous aboutbit, but it was pretty easy going for me. I was able to eat a protein bar immediately following the draw so the sugar crash wasnt absolutely horrible, and i totally recommend doing that instead of eating the crackers or cookies your phlebotomist might offer. Cant wait to see your content relating to child rearing in the future!

Have such a dreamy time thinking about raising your kid. It really is that special. Don't let anyone pop that bubble of joy and excitement because there is a lot of joy and excitement through all of it.
Congratulations to you both! Such exciting news! I think you’ll be fantastic, well-informed parents. The part about sticking to your boundaries and not sharing your daughter online is a good one and worth sticking to. It’s also one of the easier decisions to make. As a woman - who has decided against having kids - but was absolutely besotted with both my nephew and my niece when they were born and COULDN’T WAIT to tell everyone and show them off, I was ‘upset’ that my sister and BIL decided to keep them off the internet as long as humanly possible. My sister knew how excited I would be, and didn’t even tell me she was pregnant until she was well and truly past the safe mark, because she knew I wouldn’t have been able to not tell anyone. But I GOT OVER IT. And people in your lives will, too. It wasn’t my decision to make, and I adjusted. I still got to be the Proudest Aunty Ever and show them off in a million pictures and silly videos on my phone, I just couldn’t post them to FB or Instagram. It also meant my sister wasn’t mad at me and let me babysit, and come and pick them up from school to hang out with them whenever I wanted to.
Omg congratulations!!! I'm actually due with my first at the end of the month, so I'm sooo excited to see your perspective as a new parent. This is so wonderful to hear, I'm so happy for you!!!

Omg yes! I’m so excited for you guys! (And if I can be a bit selfish) I’m excited for the parenting content! My husband and I just turned 30, got into our professional careers, and I’m starting to think about the “when” should we start thinking about pregnancy. I’m also a person who suffers with anxiety and it’s so damn refreshing to see another person anxious about the same things I am! I feel like most people don’t talk about the future and their children! It’s so nice to be able to relate to someone! The topics you’ve already talked about are ones I’ve thought about over and over and how my husband and I will one day navigate them. I’m especially curious about how you guys are gong to navigate dealing with boundaries of your baby girl, especially when it comes to family members and friends, and the internet! Because that’s a question I’ve had and don’t know how to solve so I’d love your thoughts on it! Congratulations again! 🖤🖤 I can’t wait for future content!
Congrats on your baby! Regarding trying to avoid raising kids materialistically: my parents always prioritized spending money on trips and experiences over material possessions and I’m grateful for the perspective that gave me. Now as an adult I couldn’t care less about fancy cars, Stanley cups, or designer fashion.
So excited for you! There will be hard times, but everything (good and bad) is a phase. I've found parenthood to be so much more fulfilling than I ever could have hoped for. I really hope you experience the same. Sending you all the healthy vibes and wishing you the best!
Congratulations!! I think you and Nathan will make great parents. You’re very aware of the potential pitfalls of modern parenting, and while it may be hard to avoid all of them, I think you’re very prepared to provide your daughter with a wonderful home and upbringing. ❤

Just paused your video at the point where you’re taking about how your daughter is going to be the coolest and how you can’t wait to meet her and YES 1000% YES. I have a 2 and a 1/2 year old daughter and literally every single day I’m in awe at how her personality is soooo her own mixed with her taking little bits of things that she hears and sees and claiming them as her own. It’s so adorable to see her get excited about things and hear the things she says and you really start to realize how she thinks about the world, it’s all so amazing every single day. I’m so happy to see that coming true for you.
Just wanted to say you are free to turn down any testing you don't want. Including the gestational diabetes one. They really make you do those to cover their own liability, so if you assume the liability, and don't have risk factors or symptoms present for those complications, you are free to turn down testing😊
I also have health anxiety and seeing someone living out my future dream makes me so excited, congratulations!! I hope you continue to have a very peaceful pregnancy.
So incredibly excited for you! If I can make a request for an “internet analysis” topic it would be how social media (mainly TikTok) affects parenting choices and purchases. I found myself in a hole of other people’s opinions and not thinking of what I actually wanted as a first time mom
I'M SO HAPPY FOR YOU!!!!!! I've been watching you for years and became a mom a year and a half ago to a beautiful baby girl. I'm sure you will be great.
My husband and I tried for 3 years and I finally got pregnant! I found out in January and it still feels surreal. I'm also having a girl! Congrats to you both ❤🎉
honestly I am over the culture of moms telling expectant moms horror stories! I am SO glad you are excited about your baby. You should be :) Of course its hard (as is anything else worth doing in life), but as a mom of 2 little boys its the most rewarding, purpose filled thing you can do! The love you get back from your kids, the pride you have when they lean a new thing ,and the joy of watching them become their own person is worth EVERYTHING. I would HIGHLY advise you let up a good support system postpartum (no sleep + raging hormones suck), but I would still go through every sleepless night and every day that my battery was at 0% and I still have to keep going, if it means I get to have my kids with me. CONGRATULATIONS! Babies are awesome :)
You realize that the "culture" is just women finally being honest about what they've been going through for millennia, right? Also, you can do both. You can talk about the bad things and the good things and plenty of women do. You're mad at the wrong people, you should be mad at the biological fathers of these babies for not putting in the work and letting the mothers get to their breaking point.
Lol what the hell, experienced moms SHOULD totally inform other women (who want to get pregnant) on everything that a pregnancy and child birth entails, there are so many risks and things that can go wrong. No one should be kept in the dark about this topic. It's very childish and ignorant of you to tell otherwise.
Congratulations! So exciting. I'm 8 weeks pregnant with our first so I relate a lot to everything you're saying. I look forward to future videos about parenting phenomena. Definitely very interesting!

congratulations! i think you're going to be a wonderful parent and raise a great kid. I hope the pregnancy and everything involved goes well and is easy for you!
Congratulations!! ❤️❤️❤️ my husband and I always talked about kids and never really knew when was the right time. We welcomed our baby girl in January. I loved pregnancy, it was magical and treated me well but holding her for the first time is LIFE CHANGING. I’m excited for your journey as a momma. It truly is rewarding! ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Congratulations! I'm sitting here with my 8 week old and crying. It's a hard journey but so amazing
Been watching your videos for a while now and to see you starting this new chapter of your life feels so cute, it's like growing up with someone and seeing that person achieve their adult dreams! I'm sure you're going to be a lovely and caring mother
OMG I’VE NEVER CLICKED ON A NOTIFICATION SO FAST! CONGRATULATIONS TIFF!!
Watching you for a decade, this makes my heart melt omg.
oh this is so exciting!! im also pregnant right now (16w+5d) and weve shared so many experiences already.
I always cry with pregnancy announcement videos, but this one just had me in tears and couldn't stop. I'm excited for those topics you mentioned you have in mind for future videos.
Now why am I crying? 😭 Congratulations to you and Nathan! I'm so excited to see how parenthood shapes your perspective and future analysis videos. This is so exciting.
omg you're the fourth pregnancy announce I saw this week and I'm getting more and more excited for every one of you 🥹 congratulations to the two of you!!!! I wish you all the best and I hope you have an awesome pregnancy!! all the best from Germany xxx
your daughter is a lucky girl, you will be a great mom. Congrats, love and light.
not me hornonally crying at this right now. so happy for you.
I watched this during breakfast. What a wonderful world we live in that we can watch TH-cam videos of women announcing that they’re pregnant and explaining in the most beautiful way why that’s something they’ve always wanted. I literally cried. I know I will never see your child but I am so happy for her and for you❤ I am 22 but I feel like I would have to have you as a mom lol
Just the hugest congratulations. It is such a magical time. You made another person with your love. The journey is just beginning. It’s big and it’s scary and it’s the best thing ever.
I have three sons. My oldest is almost 23 and my twins are 15. I have enjoyed every single beautiful moment of knowing them and loving them.
You’re going to be a wonderful mother. Big hugs. 💕
Congratulations! So excited for you ❤ If it’s at all reassuring, when my mom had my sister, our dog was so excited. He was more interested in her than any of us. A lot of animals like babies and you might be surprised by their intuition.
So so sweet. Your mindset going into this new chapter makes it pretty clear you and your partner will make amazing parents and this video truly put me in a good mood haha. Congratulations! ❤
Congratulations! Thank you for sharing these special moments with us. Tearing up a bit.
Congratulations!!! I’m waiting for my first scan as an anxious FTM and this was a really nice reminder to just relax and enjoy this wild journey ❤️🐣
Have such a dreamy time thinking about raising your kid. It really is that special. Don't let anyone pop that bubble of joy and excitement because there is a lot of joy and excitement through all of it.
CONGRATULATIONS!!!! 🎉🎊
You, your husband, and your baby are in my prayers!
❤❤❤❤ it’s a girl!!! The way I screamed when they told me over the phone, poor nurse! 😂😂. I’m so happy for y’all. 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Wishing you a healthy, happy life with your family.
I had my first baby back in September 2023, she is almost 8 months now. I am so excited for you!! You already know it won't be easy but it truly is worth it!
Omg congrats Tiffany!!! I’m crying tears of joy for you😭🥺🥰🩷
Congratulations!! I think you and Nathan will make great parents. You’re very aware of the potential pitfalls of modern parenting, and while it may be hard to avoid all of them, I think you’re very prepared to provide your daughter with a wonderful home and upbringing. ❤
You’re going to be a great mom. You’ve really thought about children and parenting for years. You planned this. You’ve got a partner who is just as excited. Your little girl is very lucky Tiffany!❤
Congratulations! It's so heartwarming how excited you are you. Wishing you and Nathan the best
Talking about your health anxiety.... thank you!!! I struggle with that too and when you started describing your routine when getting blood drawn, I was so happy for you. Having a routine and making it known to the doctors is soo important with health anxiety!! So happy for you guys and excited to see where this new chapter brings you
congratulations!!! yay!
You will be an amazing mother. Congratulations Tiffany 🎉
Congratulations!!!!!!!!!!!!! You will be such a wonderful mother
Congratulations!! 🥰 Being a parent is challenging for sure, but if you become one because you want to, it's awesome as well. Getting to watch another person be born and grow and change, and learn about life and themselves, and follow their journey so closely, is such a privilege, and getting to know this new little person is so cool 😄 my kids are 14 and 17 now, and I love having conversations with them - I always have
Just paused your video at the point where you’re taking about how your daughter is going to be the coolest and how you can’t wait to meet her and YES 1000% YES. Yes there are hard moments but i really feel so happy hanging out with her every day and I’m so excited that you’re going to experience this. 😭🫂❣️ You’re going to be such an amazing mama!
Congratulations! I’m currently at 16+ weeks with baby #2, so all this stuff is quite fresh and fun to hear about. ❤
i’m so happy for you!!! and excited for the family to grow !
Just stumbled over your newest video and thought to myself 'is that a baby bump?' so I looked up your chanel and found this. Congratulations, so happy for you two! 💜
Congratulations 🎉!!! How exciting
I’m so excited for you, Tiffany and Nathan!!! I have two tiny girls of my own, 2.5 and almost 1. You’ll be overwhelmed by the love you feel and everything they do will be amazing and hilarious to you. I remember you saying in an old video that you absolutely wanted kids. I’m so happy to see that coming true for you.
CONGRATULATIONS!! 🎉🎉
Just wanted to say you are free to turn down any testing you don't want. Including the gestational diabetes one. They really make you do those to cover their own liability, so if you assume the liability, and don't have risk factors or symptoms present for those complications, you are free to turn down testing😊
AHHHH LETS GO GOOOO. CONGRATULATIONS GIRLIE ❤️🔥💞✨💞✨💞✨🎉🎉🦋
I also have health anxiety and seeing someone living out my future dream makes me so excited, congratulations!! I hope you continue to have a very peaceful pregnancy.
I can’t believe it 😭😭😭 congrats guys ❤❤❤❤ all the love from Mexico
So incredibly excited for you! If I can make a request for an “internet analysis” topic it would be how social media (mainly TikTok) affects parenting choices and purchases. I found myself in a hole of other people’s opinions and not thinking of what I actually wanted as a first time mom
This was one notification I was not expecting!!! 🥺🥺💕💕
Congrats! you are going to be an amazing mom!🥺
I'M SO HAPPY FOR YOU!!!!!! I've been watching you for years and became a mom a year and a half ago to a beautiful baby girl. I'm sure you will be great.
Congratulations Tiffany!!🫂🫂
My husband and I tried for 3 years and I finally got pregnant! I found out in January and it still feels surreal. I'm also having a girl! Congrats to you both ❤🎉
I never clicked on a notification so fast, congratulations!
I have been watching you since 2021. Congratulations, Tiffany 🎉
Congratulations to you both! Wishing you a healthy pregnancy ♥️
Congratulations Tiffany & Nathan ❤
Congratulations!! 🎉 So happy for you!
I'm sobbing, I'm so happy for you guys!! Tiff I have been watching you for literally ever and I am so happy to see you so happy!!
honestly I am over the culture of moms telling expectant moms horror stories!
Yay!! Congratulations! We are both pregnant at the same time❤
awww yay, congrats to you too!!
@@tiffanyferg Do you plan on publishing a survey about the topic of public housing in the US?
My son is almost two and while being a parent is hard I wouldn’t want it any other way. I truly believe my life started when I became a mom💙 congrats Tiffany!💘
