I have always wondered why the rock trucks always dump into a stockpile instead of a ground level hopper that could handle 30-50 tons. You could still use the stockpile when lots of incoming trucks, and then feed the hopper with a loader. One of the savings would be fuel and manpower to operate the loaders. maybe there are other considerations - such as clay, jams and how to handle the oversized rocks but those are problems with solutions
I think it's more alone the lines of the fewer moving parts and things that can break a hose the better. Sure having a hopper with a autoloading would be better, but you have hte problem of either hydrolic lines blowing open or a belts just going to orbit when something just slightly too big gets stuck. Not to meantion unless it's a bucket conveyor, a rock getting stuck will chew through the belt and now you have lost paydirt across the ground a new belt to order which might not come in for who knows how long.
Another big thing is mobility. Try and keep the plants fairly mobile. These cuts can progress fairly quickly and eventually you get a long haul so the set up is better as it takes less time to get the plant moved to a new location
Started a mine in east Tennessee with several large excavators. Have kids breaking in just to climb up on them. Initially was extremely upset till 2 of them said they watched Gold Rush and wanted to see how they looked in real life. Shows been polarizing even here in Tn.

Don't think the average guy watching this realizes how massive a 750 like that is. The tracks on that mammoth are 5-6' off the ground. A 6.5 yard bucket is ridiculous. I've never run one unfortunately but I've been around plenty and ran a 480 five days a week for the better part of 3 years of my life back in the day. When a 480 isn't enough machine for a job, it's a big freaking job.

Yes a 950 for last season and then two 750s additionally for this season. Two 750's, a 950 and 10 dump trucks are very productive I would say, and also the D11.

All jobs are being combined with other jobs to max profits in Detroit for the past forty years they used attrition to lower Union membership and lower wages then Covid19 free money? What happened?
