I have been trying to convince ppl to eat healthier for many years now. Sometimes it feels like I'm talking to a Wall...but I keep on relaying these precious facts anyway. I (humbly) feel akin to Plato and his allegory of the Cave, haha. A friend of mine who just had to have his heart restarted the other day is finally listening to me. Sheesh why do ppl wait until something goes wrong before they wake up?

Exactly!!! I feel exactly the same. And not only do ppl not listen, they make fun of me relentlessly also.

Old proverb: Beware of any man who speaks of his own humility. 😂😜❤️ but yes I totally get what you’re saying. I feel like food is a tough / sensitive subject right up there with religion and politics for people. Some people are unwilling to open up to any other view.

@@krawlb4walking802 I am not a Christian so I am unfamiliar with proverbs...but I was just using the word "humble" in order to imply that I do not think of myself as a great philosopher like Plato ...

@@MegaGoddessofLove I was just playing. I don’t know if it is in the Bible or if it’s a Chinese proverb or what… But I knew you were not taking yourself overly serious when you referred to Plato.

Here in North Dakota, the Department of Motor Vehicles will ask you if you want to be an organ donor. "Organ Donor" is then stamped on your driver's license when you get your license or renew your license. Due to that fact, about 67 % of North Dakotans are registered to be organ doors.

  • @IonTrone

the 85% in these type of situations can be tricky - they may approve that OTHER people donate their organs, not their very own :)

Not to be a Debbie Downer but this is an example why many people say I just can't see living "that way" as in eating based on studies versus what you enjoy. I think people have to find new versions of foods they enjoy. Then over time the taste memories fade and the healthier foods become their norm. Example, I used to love 💘 chocolate shakes from the fast food place. Then I found a great recipe. 1/2 cup salt free drained black beans, 1 tbsp cocoa powder, 1 cup soy milk, 1/2 to 1 cup frozen cauliflower florets, 2 pitted soaked dates, 4 ice cubes and enough water to make it blend in the Ninja or other high speed blender. I pour it into a tall insulated cup and use a wide straw. Makes 42 ounces so huge. I drink it instead of a meal. Fabulous. Just 1 example.
