  • Enda returns alongside James and Alan as they look back on Celtic's 3-0 win against Hearts at the weekend, how Celtic are peaking at the right time of the season, the difference James Forrest makes to the team and how this weekend's derby might be the one Celtic are strongest favourites for.

    I agree Goldson is a big loss for them.
    He's their best defender by a distance and he's one of their better goalkeepers also.

    Great work guy, always an enjoyable pod. Roughly an hour away from kick off in the Glasgow Derby and this was a great way for me to enjoy the build up to the game. Hope you all enjoy the game when it comes and I look forward to your next pod, regardless of the result. HH and *u*k the rangers ✊️

    Welcome back Enda! Hope you enjoyed your latest 'mini-retirement'.
    IMHO, this is the best Celtic pod there is. There are other ones I like for certain reasons - I'd recommend Hamish formerly of 67 Hail Hail's new pod 'Celtic | A.M.' - but this is my favorite. The Huddle Breakdown appeals to the part me that likes objectivity - actually rage quit a couple of pods I otherwise liked because of their extreme irrational subjectivity - that plays well to my autism diagnosis. Of course, our appreciation for reality is always through a subjective lens but as this pod shows you can use stats anyway you like but it's about context for actual legit analysis... if I hear about £70m quid in the bank so we should buy players so we can make the UCL semi finals my head might explode.
    Sorry to be language police, but can start describing Clements 'meltdowns' are what they are: manipulative tantrums. 'Meltdown' is medical terminology - in the same way 'spastic' (there was Spastics Society, renamed Scope, legit medical organisation before people made that word a slur) and the r-slur were a medical terms before people consistently misused them - where people cannot contain emotions due to neurological conditions and there is a kind of dam bursting of emotion.. neurological conditions like autism spectrum disorder. Tantrums on the other hand are manipulative, Clement wants to control the media narrative NOT honest unavoidable meltdowns, it's calculated not an inability to contain the outburst. It is NOT a meltdown.
    I might, I probably will, feel differently on Saturday, but this mob don't scare me. I've been able to say this for a long time now: if Celtic turn up fit, full roster of players to choose from and on form versus any team in Scotland in the same state, I am happy, shy of some massive ref nonsense, assured we can get 3 points. On our best day versus Sevco on theirs, we win . End of.

    great discussion as usual,
    for what its worth , net xg home and away form data having a good track record predicting epl and celtic results . net xg home and away predicted dundee away more difficult than hearts at home , predicted beating dundee by 1 and hearts by 2 , but for variance that would have been the outcome .
    predicting celtic either beating rangers by 1 or a draw . unfortunately predicting killi away just as tricky as rangers at home.
    clement ditched his philosophy last outing and went man on man in midfield ala gio and beale . it half worked on an unfit hatate , limiting his threat and field position . rangers paid a price though, because they were out on their feet against RC and dundee,
    the other clement mistake was not starting cantwell . that left rangers at the mercy of lundstrom and lawrence . lundstrom playing a more prominent role under clements system, why, i do not know , but tactical madness comes to mind, and celtic should be thankful
    celtic looked vulnerable on both defensive flanks last outing , and despite concerns about the taylor scales combo, you could argue rangers had more threat on aj;'s flank , wthout discounting the chaos sima caused in the other flank.
    rangers mids out possessed celtics mids by 20%, and they won the territorial battle, even though celtic did well keeping rangers mids away from the 18yard box. hopefully celtic returns the favour at celtic park

    I'm with James here. Yes, of course I'm confident And listening to Rangers Radio this week, which I occasionally do for some much-needed comedy entertainment, the smell of fear is palpable amidst the figurarive wearing of father's old sashes and hysterical beating of over-large drums. BUT ... nervousness remains as I hate it when we are expected to win in these games. Ill be glad when this one's over, tbh, whatever the result. Just give us that title!

    • @frankbrennan1619
      @frankbrennan1619 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      ''Fine margins'' is what James near continually goes on about & of course he's completely correct, whilst also totally avoiding all the inane shrill of ''we're a far better quality side than they are'' because we're totally NOT in ANY shape or form, since we're ONLY talking two bad lots here & as us & them have proved throughout this season in both performances & results & so Saturday will ONLY be a very tough game as they nearly ALWAYS are & with ANY of the ONLY three possible outcomes completely feasible & achievable no matter who you support....

    • @gezobel
      @gezobel 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@frankbrennan1619I think that's fair comment, Frank. My 'confidence' is based mostly on that we have the big advantage of playing at home with no opposition fans present. Do I have full confidence in the team turning up on the day to finish the job? Sadly, on this season's experience, I do not. Of course we could blow them away if the players all turn up but Ill be delighted with a narrow win and relieved with a draw. A loss will give them the momentum going into the last two games thats the reality and the current goal difference can be quickly overturned so that's why I remain netvous about tomorrow. Let's hope these nerves prove completely unfounded and I certainly won't mind being accused of needless pre-match negativity by some if we trounce them tomorrow, thats for sure! 😎

    • @frankbrennan1619

      @@gezobel Don't you worry for a second aboot ''being accused of needless pre-match negativity'' as daft, dear, old Alan had a right pop at me, well when I say pop, it was like getting savaged by a dead sheep, when I had the temerity to simply state as to what Celtic was it, who were going to turn up against Hearts & was it the 3-0 or 4-0 Celtic after scoring an early goal & then getting a second pretty soon after the first & so since we were 2-0 up after aboot 20 minutes & eventually won 3-0, dare I say I got that particular scenario pretty spot on, but of course I also mentioned the alternative scenario of it being 0-0 for quite a considerable amount of time because of 100% pure Brenda Bore Ball & the Celtic Park full house getting ever more nervous & frustrated as the first goal was taking so inordinately long to arrive & then also needing at least a second as one is never ever enough going into the last fifteen minutes or so & daft, dear, old Alan is the only one who can answer as to why he accused yours truly of a '' Toon Army of negativity'' for only making these two perfectly legitimate scenarios & which of the two would it be on the day & he completely ducked the issue at the time when I asked him a direct question in this regard & he will probably continue to do so & that's perfectly fine the silly old codger that he is....
      Now as for tomorrow's Glasgow derby, it very much could also be once again one of these two scenarios as to how we play & what the final score is, although of course the zombies are not the Swinecastle rabble & for sure & as you say, our players MUST ''all turn up'' for ANYTHING like a 3-0 victory & they ALL haven't ''turned up'' in a single, solitary game this season, so as James has also said, '' a nervy 2-1 win'' seems a more likely option but for sure, little Planet Earth won't completely implode if it's any kind of a draw or horror of horrors, an away win for them & then us going to Kilmarnock on Wednesday night having to win & score a handful of goals too...

    Tactically I can’t see Celtic lose. We win all of the individual battles all over that park. If they try put a man on McGregor, Hatate can drop deeper and help out and that leaves O’Reilly vs Lundstram with Forrest cutting in from the right and Kyogu dropping deep, their defenders will be all over the place. Bar an individual error or var bringing a freak technicality to the refs attention, I just can’t see us losing.

    • @frankbrennan1619
      @frankbrennan1619 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I can completely see us losing in the context of that it is a perfectly feasible & achievable eventual outcome of the three that are ONLY available & moreover if Clementine treats Saturday's High Noon ish confrontation totally as if the zombies are playing a Europa League game away from home in a very hostile atmosphere with none of their fans present & they just MUST win it & all of these components are there for tomorrow's battle & if they do, then it just might not be as much ''fun'' as oor ''elite'' Brenda so erroneously thought it might be....
