  • A highlights compilation of the three tremendously enjoyable days we spent at what I believe to be the greatest historic race meeting in the world, The Goodwood Revival. Within the unique atmosphere that only Goodwood can create with its period correct pit buildings and visitors in period dress, we managed to get close to the circuit. We experienced the visceral appeal of the ERAs, Maseratis and the ultra rare V16 BRM as well as the beauty of the Ferraris and Jaguars. Altas, D Types, Ford Falcons & Porsches were all raced hard on the beautiful Goodwood circuit, which remains unchanged since it closed in 1966.

    Thank you for sharing "Your " Goodwood Adventures. Your personal connection to the history of these cars is quite amazing. I had to watch this one start to finish. Reminds me of all my Spridgets and Mini Coopers from the 80s and early 2000s... Grateful Thanks, again!

      Thank you for your very kind comments. It’s a highlight of the year for me so it’s a joy to put a video together and share it. If others enjoy it then that’s a real bonus. Thanks again.

    The thing that strikes me most about Goodwood Revival is that everyone is having such a great time, owners, drivers, commentators and spectators. It's the high point of my motoring viewing year.

      I think you are absolutely right Mr Eckes. I remember over the three days I was introduced to new and old friends and it was just smiles and positivity throughout.

      Of course, who could argue with your comment Mr Sutton? Your Son deserves greater recognition for his contribution to TH-cam.

    Absolutely brilliant,🤩 knowledgable documentation of this most amazing event. I have been to the members meeting in 2016 and allways wanted to see the Revival, when, on short notice, I got a ticket by one of the competing teams. I spent most of the races just opposite your position and I am again in awe just looking at your documentation. Well done. All the best from Munich 🙂

      These are such kind comments Harry Hunter and it’s really uplifting to hear someone enjoying the video. Hopefully these winter months will quickly pass and we’ll be back for the Members’ Meeting where hopefully I’ll be able to put together another short documentary of the event. Thanks again for your positive feedback. All the best, Duncan.

      @@thehistoricsportscarcollection Thank you very much Duncan for your reply. I won't be able to come over to Goodwood this year, due to other committments. SO I will be looking out for your documentations. Again I admire your knowledge of the very old cars. My humble information only covers the touring & sport cars starting late 60's. So do keep up the good work Kind regards Helmut Helmberger aka Harry Hunter :-))

      Latest news is that Goodwood will be celebrating Carroll Shelby’s life and achievements at the 2023 event which will be very special and certainly worth a visit.

      Glad you enjoyed it Jack. As I said it was a real highlight of the weekend watching you drive that 100S - drifting it out of the chicane. I’ll be in touch about some coaching for next season.

      Thank you Roberto for your guidance. I’ll certainly try to improve my pronunciation in the future. Forgive me for asking but I recognise your surname- you are not by any chance related to the Orsi family that took over Maserati?

    • @robertoorsi5771
      @robertoorsi5771 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@thehistoricsportscarcollection Not absolutely. My surname is quite common in Italy. I was born in 1958 in Bologna where I live. The same city were was born Maserati Bothers Factory and Weber Carburator Factory. Nowdays of Maserati remains only the badge, because as you know it's a brand of Stellantis and factory is settled in Piedmont. Weber-Marelli instead gets his factories in Bologna and in the borough of Bologna. The name of my city cames form a large celtic tribe of "boi" settled in in this valley before the roman conquest of North Italy. Romans named celtic tribes "galli" (cocks), because they put the cock tails on their war helmets. Roman named this land "Gallia Citerior". Citerior is for neraest, cloeser to Rome.

      @@robertoorsi5771 Thanks for your reply. Most of Italy has a fascinating history but thank you for the insight into Bologna. It’s a beautiful country and ideally viewed from the cockpit of a 1950s sports car on the Mille Miglia!

      We are lucky with the motoring heritage in the UK and the Goodwood Revival is something very special. I know you have a lot of enthusiastic collectors in Japan and Honda & Toyota are highly respected for their history. The circuits at Fuji & Suzuka would provide a dramatic location for an historic meeting!

    The commentator doesn't see very much. Lots of cars regularly in shot, but never mentioned. Quite an insult to such important cars, and their drivers, plus the owners who spend so much money to race these beauties.
