⭕ Bringing Tony Home - By Tissa Abeysekara.
"Bringing Tony Home" , a novella written by Tissa Abeysekara involves three movements which are "The Sunset" "Tony" and "The Little Train". The story mainly focuses on the strong bond between man and animals. In 1996 , this book won the prestigious Gratiaen Prize for the new creative writing in English. The events in the novella are presented as a flash back and it is a fine record of bygone era of Sri Lanka. Although it is a novella, the story is presented more like a movie. The story is semi biographical as most of the events in the story are recreated through the memory of the narrator while some other events are Fictious. It is evident that the narrator has a strong nostalgia towards his past and throughout the novella the writer recreates all about his village, its beautiful landscape and its change due to urbanization and industrialization .
Now this book is included in G.C.E (O/L) English Literature syllables.
