I love the idea of Combine soldiers trying to rebel. I hope they touch on that more in a future half life title. Maybe even in Half Life 3 one of the main characters could be a transhuman or civil protection that joined the resistance

I like how instead of running he takes up his role as a guardian for the two, likely accepting a manhunt and possibly death as a consequence. Hence, "Protector". Some things are worth dying for to protect, one of which is your humanity.
I wish valve makes a Half-Life game where you are playing as a Civil Protection Unit who got his memory back and becomes a Combine Rebel.(not Barney Calhoun) The name i think is possible for the character is: Andrew Abaven (which means strong protector) The name i think is possible for the game name is: Half-Life 2: Civil Protector.
There is so much great stuff they could do with the whole universe they created in these games. I want them to exploit it because it has so much potential.

Because the Combine don't want the chance of humanity growing back up to strength. When the Combine subjugated Humanity after the 7-Hour War they installed a 'Suppression Field' preventing humanity from having children. The Combine execute any couples they find as a way to scare humanity from ever having bonds of relationship and they do this to eliminate any shred of hope that one day Humanity will one day be free.
Damn, this is probably one of the best sfm animations I've seen, the animation of the characters is fluid and natural, the lighting is excellent and really helps to improve the over all look of the video, even the textures and character models are a cut above, something you don't usually seen in these sort of project. Great animation, hope to see more from you.

+Herbivore The Carnivore Oh it is, my character was a rebel beforehand and some other "Citizen" that wanted to "help" joined but later when my character was walking through the city she saw the other rebel and it turned out that they where a CP that was undercover and thought my character could be of use as a form of soldier/MPF but since the augmentation and brainwashing was a just like very out of the blue so the machine did it and my now OTA character followed the commands given to her by the SeC but one day while being given orders the name of her old self was whispered in a way in the back of her head and said "No" to orders, obviously the SeC gave her a good ol' slap and that made my character aim her AR2 and unload in the SeC's general direction and darting and hiding and living in a lighthouse on a little island, the server has shut down though and my character's story has yet to finish
Lone_Combine They're people who have submitted to the Combine. A lot of them are just assholes since being a CP gives you a better life. Though, the higher rank you are the less of a human you become. The lower the rank you are the more sanity you still have.

to be honest in half life 2 lore the rebels get turned into stalkers but i dont think there is any traitor torture since no one dares to disobey once you in you cant get out but if some one betrays the combine i consider that they will get shot on sigh or get turned into stalkers as alyx commented in ep 1 about the wrong place wrong time or resisting

This is great, really wish there was a good tutorial on how to use Half-Life 2/custom content with SFM, and where to go from there. Everything I've found has revolved around using multiplayer games like TF2, and using players as actors.

I don't think it's wrong for the CP to go rouge, because CPs aren't brainwashed, they're basically regular humans that decided to join the Combine Occupation Force, the ones that are brainwashed are the Overwatch Soldiers, and the Elites. And if they don't succeed in the Combine Surgery to become an Overwatch Unit, they just turn into mindless stalkers to do their work in citadels and other combine essentials structure.

I wish you could see more of this kind of thing in half life. Also I wish their were missions where u could play as combine and resistance fighters. I feel like the combine are portrayed as kind of weak, when in reality they should be really scary with all their advancements and tactical upgrades, their basically all superhuman veterans, not to mention the deep dark vocoder they have that makes their voices sound hostile and ambiguous. There should of been missions where u play as resistance and your team just gets decimated by the combine and their synths, when all of the sudden freeman and another team of resistance comes to the rescue. It would have also been fun doing room clearing like this as a CP officer, only to have a sudden surge of conscious and morality like in this story. In short, awesome story dude, I really hope someone makes a game like this sometime

Elite civil protection units are modified. Pretty sure they had their eyes amputated and replaced in the beta so it's true here too.
