A Time When Monster trucks were real trucks.
scpd613 and when the cars they were crushing still had real windshields in them so when the tires hit them they would crack and shatter
I loved the 7th Gen body on BF4 that was probably one of the best looking Gens especially lifted.
Ramps were a little steep that night.
The mid-late 80's were truly, IMHO, The Golden age of monster trucks and monster truck racing. I enjoy Monster Jam and today's modern monster trucks, but they just don't have what an "Old School" leafer monster truck had back then, a realness, I suppose. as these weren't that far removed from an OEM 4x4 truck. Thanks for continuing to post these awesome clips.

I know a lot of the advancements made have been made for the drivers and more performance but you gotta love seeing these trucks look like and be like real trucks!!! Gotta love have to hang your head out of the side window to see!! Great footage!! I love these older videos! Keep it up!! Bigfoot-- the original and still the best monster truck!!!

It's insane how the driver is just like "Yeah, I'm gonna hang half my body outside the truck so I can jump really far onto cars." Wish they still crushed cars after the jumps.
The monster truck Bigfoot IV race against in the semi final was Jus' Show N Off and the monster truck Bigfoot IV race against in the final was the first Carolina Crusher.
I love the hanging out of the window. I do remember TV segments about monster trucks back in the 80s and a lot of guys just used lap belts.
Damn thing probably has a bench seat in it.......just think what would happen today if a drivers head was out the window like that
Just look at the speed. It's like the other guys aren't even trying.
Only few trucks of this era could really compete with Bigfoot, Gravedigger, USA-1 and a few others. Carolina Crusher became very competitive the next year with an updated truck. But honestly, pretty much everyone else was just cannon fodder against Bigfoot.

I love watching his old footage. But it just makes me so much more impressed with how far driver and truck capabilities have grown.
I remember this event.My dad took me and my older brother to see this.It was part of a two part show.The other part was 2wheel drive super modified truck & tractor pulling.I miss going to see events like this at the Astrodome.
