She's has the distinction of not just having ridiculous talent, but also impeccable control and musical instinct, and unshakable confidence, to me that puts her at the top and her long career and multi generational influence proves the music industry was wrong and she was right for sticking to her guns, most teenagers into soul music of all races come across these performances and are immediately enamored with her style, when most of her career she was criticized for her voice we see it was always jealousy, and thank God she never gave in
These are some golden years for Ms. LaBelle post the trio...She was on the potters wheel of success...they had to try and harness her other worldliness and package it...I love where she landed when all was said and done.
