    That’s a classic Alembic tone.
I have an Epic 5 and I get that tone just by plugging in.
They have a very rich sound with lots of bottom end but never boomy. I don’t know how they do it but I’m glad they do.

Hey Harry, good to see you playing that bass. Sounds great. I've never used a pick on a bass before but that punchy sound you get is bang on!

Playing a Stanley Clarke and looking like Jimmy Haslip…that’s some SERIOUS bass mojo!

This comment deserves more thumbs up, besides just mine. I kept thinking, who does this guy look like. You nailed it with the Jimmy Haslip

Yes! I've been listening to him since I was in high school in the '80s, though I never saw him live until about 10 years ago.

Hey, great to see a bass being played with a pick!!!
I've been playing since early 60's. Started with thumb and fingers, went to a pick. I still play with various attacks, but I keep coming back to a pick!!! There are various " inflections" you can get with a pick , your fingers won't give you!!!
Many kudos!!!! Love your bass, too!!!👍👍👍

Thanks! Yes, I am definitely a pick player! I play with my fingers too, but will always have picks around. Like you say, there are some things that sound very different than fingers - I also play differently with a pick sometimes...

Thanks - it's just going for it to the best of my ability! I also learned from the masters - Chris Squire, Anthony Jackson, John Wetton, Roger Glover, etc.

I feel disappointed when I see a bass being played with a pick…but I guess that’s just me.

I know a lot of people feel that way, but don't close yourself off to music just because of a technique! I'm not really into it when rock guitarists play with just fingers, but spend a couple of minutes watching/listening to Jeff Beck and I'm blown away!
