The rogue shadow; the rotating landing mechanism, the room inside, deployable landing gear, the unique neat technic launcher feature, the storage panel for figure accessories, all on top of being just a good looking and good sized model(not too big, not too small.)
I have seen Landon of Brick Legends make an amazing _Ninjago_ Diorama MOC which depicts the first pilot episode of the show - specifically, the scene where Wu trains Kai in the art of Spinjitzu through the training course. What I love about that Diorama MOC is that Landon went out of the way to integrate a simple play feature where there is a gear system that allows the training course's obstacles to spin at the twist of a knob! That is a great example of how to add play value to a diorama.
I miss yellow skin star wars era, I want play ability now that Im not hell bent on destroying my sets with "battle damage" (I took apart a lot of sets to make it look like crash sights)
Love the vid. Definitely wish people gave the Indiana jones set more attention, everything about it is brilliant. I don’t think play is completely dead; the ghost has the cool stud shooter play feature and the t-6 spins.
The only play features we see nowadays are stud shooters and spring-loaded shooters. I always like players that have some sort of catapult for your figures. One of my sets, the Toy Story Woody’s Round Up, has one of those catapults. It’s pretty fun.
I enjoy your content and sympathize with your argument - however, I think a more convincing case could be made by using sets that LEGO has actually remade with less play features (perhaps like the AT-TE, Gunship, X-Wings, etc.) as opposed to speculating about “if this set was remade, it would have less play features”, though I get the impression this was made with the intent to showcase the secondhand LEGO stores’ sets. Just a thought. Keep up the good work!
you make some great points! I just didn't have any older sets to compare the new ones too😂 I wanted to showcase some classic sets because I know everyone loves to see the old play features! thanks a lot for the feedback🙌
A scene that I'd love to see from star wars is Anakin blowing up the Lucrehulk in Episode 1. A large playscale model of a lucrehulk with liftable panels on the ring to show the inside: hitting a target inside via a launcher on a small scale N1 side-build would cause its central sphere to fall off somehow(ideally with a mechanism to lock it in place for stability's sake.) Would love the inside of the sphere to also be modeled after the control room we see the nemodians and their security droids in. Have some gun turrets on the back that can swivel and shoot, and landing gear that can deploy from the central detachable core. Could also include some other small interiors on the arm with scenes from Episode 1, like obiwan and qui-gon in the conference room with TC-14. An alternative is Mar Tuuk's lucrehulk from the clone wars TV show. Could be one of those large play sets with smaller battle-damaged venator that, when crashing into the central sphere, causes the arms to fall off. Include an escape pod inside the venator to fit Anakin and R2 in that would launch out the back when a pressure switch on the nose of the venator is pressed. Have some movable turrets both ships, model lucrehulk's interior off of Mar Tuuk's bridge having him, a tactical droid, and a few battle droids as figures. Finally, for the lucrehulk itself, some micro-scale vulture droids in the arms to play around with, maybe give them tiny stud-shooters. The latter would make a fantastic $170-$200 playset in particular.
Nice video man i agree with all of this, play is important for adults too! And this is also why I have stopped buying new lego sets, now I only buy old retired sets. I kind of feel bad for little kids today
Thank you. This is my number one gripe about modern Lego Star Wars sets. They look so damned good that people don’t want to risk them being broken by playing with them, aren’t encouraged to modify them, and generally speaking get furious if a detail is wrong. Go check out the first wave of Star Wars sets from around 2000. They were terrible by modern standards. But they all had alternate models on the back and had play features.
I would like if they had options for both play and display. As a young child I never like the stud shooters on all the clone war sets and didn’t have many pieces to improvise better looking guns. It really can’t be hard for them to add a option of play or display in the instructions for these small features. Just an idea tho
I have so many good display sets and playability sets but I think the Indians Jones escape from the lost tomb has some really fun play features I would love if I was a little kid and first starting out with Lego. I'm so exited though because im might get the Lego T. rex escape diorama wich isn't Star Wars but looks like such a fun build and looks super cool.
Great video! One of my favorites from the Star Wars line was the 2017 Y-Wing... loved dropping the bombs with that knob on the rear of the ship. Definitely agree that newer sets should prioritize fun features alongside a pretty design!
Couldn't agree more! Personally love play features on sets. Even if it's like spring-loaded shooters. And want them to make more "classic" play features in the future
It's called the Pixoo64 from Divoom! Link is in the description with my discount code🤙 You can customize it to be what ever you like on their app it's super cool!
Bricks and mini figs is like the GameStop of lego, high prices and terrible trades. A cool store and is nice for the novelty of seeing old sets on shelves but for buying old lego your best bet is online.
@@brickmasterharri Yeah. LEGO is fun and addicting. I’m an AFOL so I can never get enough LEGO Star Wars. My only issue is that LEGO has had to raise prices to keep up with customer demand. The last expensive set I ever bought myself was my Clone Turbo Tank; which I got in 2017 just after it was retired. I had prime at the time and paid $120 USD for the set plus a few older gen LEGO Star Wars sets included.
I agree with many things you said in the video, but I find that the gimmick on palpatine's shuttle makes the ship look very bad from the back, and the space is very cluttered on the inside. It would have been better to have a bacta tank and extra space for other minifigures. Its a shame because its a very impressive ship with an amazing design that is penilized by one gimmick that detracts from the looks and functionality of what would be an awesome set.
Ok I'm going to say this, it may have some bias but I miss flick fire missiles I thought they were fun as a kid, also I lose them less then the spring shooters and I may have shot someone in the eye with a spring shooter before.
I feel this has been a major problem for Star Wars recently because of adult fan demand. Alot of fans have high demands for accuracy and detail. So Lego has come to the conclusion that fans don't want toys, they're wanting buildable display models, but they still need to add in some play features for kids. Of course there are multiple reasons, it's not just one thing. But I feel this is the biggest reason. The Lego star wars community is very loud and can get very rowdy.
I don't think Lego is interested in making playsets with playfeatures. Kids don't care about playfeatures when picking the set, and adults ofent complain about them compromising a set. Don't get me wrong, I love play features, they're fun and charming, but in era of models getting more and more compact, I just can't see designers going out of their way to incorporate some sort of mechanisms into already shrinking space. Themes like Ninjago has privilige of not being based on anything, so sets can have weird gimmicks. But Star Wars sets are very much based off of things. Hell, I vaguely remember Jang defending sand speeder, because at realese it wasn't exactly beloved.
But like, even though the audience may be more mature, then why aren’t the sets highly detailed, to scale, and all that? I think its them just being cheapskates tbh and its getting a bit ridiculous
What Lego SW set has your favorite play features?
The grand inquisitors set I got that’s set for 35 dollars no figs
The rogue shadow; the rotating landing mechanism, the room inside, deployable landing gear, the unique neat technic launcher feature, the storage panel for figure accessories, all on top of being just a good looking and good sized model(not too big, not too small.)
It’s sad because the Indiana Jones set has play features and is meant for adults but the Star Wars sets made for kids has no play features
That's facts :(
Bruh Lego messed up

That sounds amazing! I'll have to check it out
I love the AT-STs, they can be set up for display in multiple ways and playability makes for some fun target practice 😂
True😂

Love the vid. Definitely wish people gave the Indiana jones set more attention, everything about it is brilliant. I don’t think play is completely dead; the ghost has the cool stud shooter play feature and the t-6 spins.
I agree with you I think some of the recent sets have been pretty good
I Hope these longer videos start gaining the same traction as your shorts bc they’re awesome! Great work boss
Thank you so much! I appreciate the nice feedback😁
Props to the bricks and minifigs workers trusting you to see the sets and not run away with it
The workers at all 3 of the Bricks and Minifigs I went to are the BEST!
Nice 👍
I personally don't like play features. I understand that sets are made for kids but I don't like

Legos 2008 gun ship from Star Wars two reason cuz the 2023 1 is really small compared to it and it also has like no play features
Some one plz like it
I was going to talk about those for sure

Interactive Diaroma: Battle of Hoth or DS2

The TRex diorama is great!!
I really hope LEGO can mix playability and displaying sets, that Indiana Jones diorama is a great example of that!
Well said!

My brother gave me his old venator not to long ago and I decided to restore it since he had made it more movie accurate.
Duddeee lets go! That's a fantastic set
I want to know where you got that animated frame with Gorgu lol
Divoom! The link is in the bio with my 10% off discount code🙌
Couldn't agree more!
Personally love play features on sets.

True! I've come to love stud shooters and spring missiles because that's sometimes all we get lol
@@brickmasterharri i know of bricks and minifigs since i watched emmasaurus videos
How about a Malevolence which can shoot the Ion Cannon (The Ion would be a purple net)
OHH yea that is one of the best play features hands down
bro where did you get the screen in the back with lego emperor palpatine on it, I need it
It's called the Pixoo64 from Divoom! Link is in the description with my discount code🤙 You can customize it to be what ever you like on their app it's super cool!
Banger vid Harrison! Nice to see so many of the sets u mentioned I have in my collection.
Thanks a lot Scott! You're a lucky guy!!
I really like the Republic Attack Shuttle and 2007 Imperial Landing Craft for their play features.
Yes! Both of those are fantastic
Can you do more videos where you buy some cool or retro sets from bricks and minifigures ?
I definitely want to🙌
@@brickmasterharri LESSS GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
At least we have sets like mando’s n1 which at least has a cool mechanism for shooting but that’s all Lego thinks play is just shoot a stud
That play feature is pretty cool I say. I love it when a set hides the shooting feature!
Yea at least it’s not like the sythe transport
To be fair the UCS sets have almost never had playa features, the ATAT being an exception. The 2001 Tantive IV had zero play features for example
True, I may of used the Venator for the thumbnail, but I didn't want to focus on them too much in the video😂
I want to see Luke and Lea’s kiss with play features
Bricks and mini figs is like the GameStop of lego, high prices and terrible trades. A cool store and is nice for the novelty of seeing old sets on shelves but for buying old lego your best bet is online.
I collect, display, and play with my LEGO Star Wars sets. I have many sets, including some MOCs I built myself.
I love it

I wish they made a set of the clone army assembling on Coruscant that comes with 300 clones so I don't have to army build.
Good take. I mostly agree. But I feel like the Andor sets and Obi Wan fight set we got had some good features to it
What is that little digital thing in the background on your shelf
It's called the Times Gate made by Divoom! Link is in the description with my discount code🤙
I had a similar thoughts lately. Good to see I'm not the only one, maybe lego will change it
Hey, Harri! How did you make winter tree behind you?
Where do I get one of those screen displays behind you?

wow, I can fully see where you are coming from with how good the play features used to be!
I see your point, but the sets are so much stronger compared to the Older sets
The most disappointing one is the coruscant gaurd gunship it’s sad what they did

Ngl, Lego needs to realize that putting a stud shooter in the set isn’t and acceptable play feature
I love gear functions and stuff with projectiles
New follower here ❤
Welcome to the channel! Glad to have you
Like, okay granted I probably am insane, but I'm a proud 20-something that would play the fuck out of some play features!
Unfortunately lego doesnt care about the display ability for clones only caring about the stupid 'customization'
But like, even though the audience may be more mature, then why aren’t the sets highly detailed, to scale, and all that? I think its them just being cheapskates tbh and its getting a bit ridiculous
Kaminoan clone facility
I don't give a f....k about play features, lego is not a toy.
Some sets you play with them... some others... You don't 😅
true, but some sets are easier to play with than others😏
They sacrifice play features to appease their whiny manchild fans who are always crying about accuracy where it's not necessary
🥲
The last thing I would do as an adult is to waste my time playing with lego ... Just display it and forget about it..
Bro thinks he has something to say here 💀
