2:22 as a former Abrams tank driver for 3 years, I can confirm with absolute certainty: don’t touch anything in the drivers hole that they tell you not to touch.
As a former Canadian Force veteran, it was nice to hear one of our boys talking and chatting in the game. At the recruiting centre they first asked if I like fishing and camping, then offered me infantry. I said no. Then they offered me to go armour, and again I said no, those guys need to be tough, and I wasn't. I ended up as a technician on the C-130 and our Sea King helicopters. But once while at a training base, I did have a Leopard drive past me, and you could feel the vibration in your boots. I stood in awe and watched him continue on then wheel around another corner and out of sight. So proud of our boys and girls in uniform. Thanks for this special video.
Never underestimate the value of technical and support staff. Without awesome people like you putting in countless hours of work nothing operates and nothing gets done. 🫡
@@ThroneOfBhaal Thank you, I feel like I did my part on many operations, even though I was a techy. I did everything I could to make sure repairs were perfect and those machines airworthy. We all did.
Fun fact: The namesake of Kuso's regiment, Lord Strathcona's Horse, was also one of the same men who oversaw the building of Canada's first transcontinental railway. His real name was Donald Smith, he'd previously been the head of the Hudson's Bay Company, and he co-founded the Canadian Pacific Railway after he and his primary business partner George Stephen had made a fortune on building the St. Paul, Minneapolis, and Manitoba Railway. Doing so, however, very nearly ruined both of them; Smith and Stephen sank literally every cent they had, put up literally everything they owned down to the clothes on their backs, and crisscrossed the world begging for loans in order to fund and build the railway, the vast majority of which was used to blast through the Canadian Shield along the north shore of Lake Superior and climb through the Rockies and the Selkirks in British Columbia. Ultimately though, they did it, and Smith was even the man who drove in the last spike, the moment of which is commemorated in a famous photograph.
Great rewards take great risks, very often. A lot of fools think wealth is just handed out. Although, that paradigm does seem to apply to the political class. 😐
15:25 I love how everyone is like "Tank left, tank right, behind you" and then suddenly Bo is like "LOCUST! LOCUST! I GOT THE LOCUST!.... 5 min later he gets arty by a Locust 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
What a fascinating video!! It was great listening to Kuso's experience in the 2A4M. Gaijin should pat themselves on the back for a great job on the model. Thanks for putting this together, Bo!!
Really enjoyed this one. I'm a former Strathcona but I was in during the dark ages. (early 80's) The Strat's were equipped with the 6 wheeled Cougars sporting the Scorpion turret and 76 mm gun. I qualified as a driver and they were fun to drive but I took a different route and joined the Ceremonial Mounted Troop. Our horses were boss.
Summertime at Ft. Hood was a bitch working on the abrams. We had pretty much a standing order we had to where our nomex gloves just to touch the tanks bc they were frying pans. I get the diesels are more responsive, but the abrams whine is awesome. I still remember the first time we heard one start up in the motor pool at Ft. Knox. The biggest issue with the turbines was maintenance. Theyre extremely finicky and it never failed that all but two tanks would be deadlined by the end of our gunneries. So everyone had to hotseat off the two tanks still up and running which one just so happened to always be mine lol… it helped having one of our mechs as a roommate in the barracks. A case of beer does wonders when you need parts to replace busted ones you find while you pmcs for two weeks before heading to the field.
As a 91A myself, I can confirm that the Abrams is a temperamental girl if not maintained correctly. And your story reminds me of the time I almost cooked myself trying to extricate a hydraulic pump from a pack that was only shut down for a few minutes. -11/10 would do again. Always nice to see a fellow mechanic, salutations from Ft. Stewart.
This guy militaries hahaha I love the bartering system. I did I.T in the RAAF (aus air force) and our offerings were usually unrestricted internet access or access to our impressive deployable movie collection or an invite to movie theatre haha
So great to have the Cdn. tank commander, would love for him to be a regular. Thank you Kuso for your service sir from a grateful Canadian military archival historian at LAC.
Actually super cool guest, this guy is from my local armoured reserve unit, and my dad served with them back in the day on a Leo 1 crew. I’m looking at getting on with either armoured or infantry reserves here soon and debating on which route to go
Of course, I click on a video from Bo for the Canadian leopard variant and the Canadian armed forces decides to run a ad before the video starts…. Very niiiccceee 👌
While i love this game, and an absolute history nerd (ancient and modern), i just cant imagine ever wanting to be a tank commander. After seeing all the insane footage in the past 20 years, and especially the ukraine lately, it terrifies me how vulnerable armored vehicles have become as technology is almost outpacing it. Props to you Kuso for having the balls to be a part of those crews.
Bo should make this into its own sub series. Plays with people in TBLF and friends who work with vehicles that are in War Thunder. Both military and civilian
A real treat to have a tank commander on. As for what he was saying about differences between some MBT's of the modern era comes down to crew training and effectively, who sees the enemy 1st/takes the shot 1st. I dont know where i heard that before, but i recognize that latter part from i think ww2 but i may be misremembering. I wonder if he has ever been in a Challenger 2 and his thoughts on it, being the only major deviation in western tank design (i include the Japanese T90 (i think its the T90 off top of my head) and the Korean (Black Prince? cant remember)) Only reason is the only difference apart from armament & main gun, out of all of them she can take quite the beating, especially from the eastern tanks (from what sources i could see)
so, fun fact, the DUtch military has the C7 and C8 from the Canadians in license and have their own versions. The C7NLD and C8NLD. they are excellent service rifles, though getting a bit old now
Super fun episode, love the edutainment stuff when it happens Especially when its not Bismark educating us on why Germans shouldnt be allowed to sing english songs
I do when the need occurs. At that battle rating I find it best to shoot first and live versus, the delay of the range finder. Those rounds fly so flat it really isn't necessary for the engagement ranges in War Thunder with the MBTs.
What would be the most Canadian way to settle an argument: a maple syrup chugging contest or a hockey shootout?
Hockey
Neither... You stand on opposite sides of a door and each of you take turns saying No. After you.....
Helo
Hockey for sure
Maple syrup chugging contest.
2:22 as a former Abrams tank driver for 3 years, I can confirm with absolute certainty: don’t touch anything in the drivers hole that they tell you not to touch.
If the military says “Don’t touch that, or you’ll regret it” don’t touch it! You WILL regret it
As a former military mechanic for the Air Force it's always a hot mess to fix things
My son started out as driver. Then became the loader and is now the gunner.
Why are you touching your driver's hole? Should we call HR?
Phrasing people, touching the driver's hole, phrasing lol. Thank you for your service.
Second you guys get a guy that actually drives the tank you are playing or flies the plane you're playing it becomes 10x more organised XD

I am amazed at the dichotomy in TBLF. One game they're tactical, making good reports. Then they become nothing, but pure shenanigans and betrayal.
But has our Canadian Take Commander gone through the right of passage of leaking top secret information on the forums for internet points?
Even if he did, would he tell?
An operation manual

This is the most organized gameplay of war thunder i've seen in this channel so far lmao, usually when its the usual crew like stick it becomes chaos
Thank you for your service Kuso!! ❤🤍❤️

Talking about crews. Each tank may be designed the same, but each crew has their respective tank setup for them.
While you've done 1000+ videos, this was easily one of the best. This guy is so knowledgeable and a joy to listen to.

Thank you Bo and Company for a fun video. Thank you Kuso for sharing some of your knowledge and experience.
i am so happy! I have been anticipating this video and love that it is finally here and i enjoyed it
Kuso driving in with the Gepard going full broadside was kind of sick af
Rule of thumb in a military vehicle, don’t trust the yellow Gatorade bottle………

Interesting to hear from Kuso about tanks in real terms.
We need Bo Time on The Unsubscribe Podcast!!
Might have to get Bo an altin helmet to get him to agree
Have him do it like Swagger Souls did, just wearing a helmet of some kind to hide his secret identity
That would be amazing
Fully agree!
@@RobbieRR Hell yeah! Although I didn't know that Bo was in hiding?! Surely he's not that ugly!! 😜 Bo could be The Talking Balaclava #2!! 🤣🤣🤣
Full on love that he could join. Love that he knows the tank and works on one!
I either didn't know or forgot that Kuso was in the military. Very cool that the vehicle he is a crew commander for is in the game
I love that we get this serious intro then it just goes straight back to normal with talk of body pillows.
Good to see Kuso around
And a good morning to you to Bo and Crew!
This was a great video! Loved the gameplay as always, but hearing about Kuso's experiences was really interesting and added a lot. Great thing to do!
One of the best videos. Love having someone playing who knows the equipment on that level.
I was waiting for this video to come out! Always nice to hear when a vehicle that people have actual experience with is added.
Great video Bo! Was really interesting learning a bit about the tank, thank you Kuso!
Always interesting to hear someone talk about the tank/vehicle they use in service.
Keep it up, bo & Co!
Thanks for the video Bo! it was fun learning from Kuso
Thank you for the informative video and it was cool to see Kuso in a video again
I got to ride in a Leopard 1 as a cadet at CFB Borden. Great fun for a 15yo! Also "Mr. Bo???" How Canadian.
Served in the USMC as a tanker on the M1A1 and had the fastest load time for a heat round at a little over 6 seconds
it was nice to see kuso dish out some knowledge in this one.
15:30 “Locust. Locust! LOCUST!!!”😂😂😂
Amazing that he commands this tank in real life. Awesome
Mr Kuso, Thank you for your service. Another great TBLF video, as always.
The good ole' empty bottle comes in handy for long road trips!
Unfortunate the Canadian Leopard 2 is in the German premium tree, and not the British Premium Tree like it should
Thanks for having Kuoso on. I'd love to see you guys play GHPC with Kuoso when it gets multiplayer someday.

Thanks for serving Your country Kuso. Good video guys!!! Rock on !!!!!!
I loved the vid it was so different from the other vids it was fun to watch and learn things about a leopard tank
My friend bought this the other day thinking it was a leopard 2a5 from Norway 😭😭😭💀💀💀

Just a fun video idea I thought of, everyone should get a tank from their country to see the difference between them also just for fun
Fantastic video. Very interesting and informative

Should definitely do the leopard 1 model kuso drove next.
