She is kind of clueless. Her friend buys her a phone for safety away from her abusive husband and the first thing she does with it is text him so now he has her number and an easy way to find and harass her.
Oh hell no, this is what you do defend yourself. Then tell the police I was in fear of my life it was self defense!! In America he is the reason we have concealed carry permits!
Oh honey, in my day and still, I have a six inch iron skillet that I carry in my van and a twelve inch in my home. Anybody puts their hands-on you? You smile, you close. All your bank accounts that night. You take less than 2 minutes, you sew them up on a blank it and you take that iron skillet, and you give them an attitude adjustment on the way out the house. As you go see the lawyer, make sure you got everything. Doc a minute and you were scared for your life. Make sure you undo the blanket before you leave. That's how we did it in the seventies
Yes..the abuser systematically cuts you off from friends and family in one way or another!! Makes you feel small and dependant on them, ..for everything..your very existence!! Your whole being ends up centering around keeping them pleased and calm...to avoid the rage in them!!! . Be sure to keep your plans secret when deciding to leave..as they feel they've lost control over you..violence is often their answer .. don't confront them or draw the line.. very dangerous. They can't handle life outside your relationship..and have to bend to others..often with hidden anger .. that anger and their control flood over you at home..he takes it out on you !!
Lena’s journey is a true testament to strength and resilience. Walking away from a toxic relationship and finding yourself again is no small feat. What an inspiring story
This story is everything-painful, inspiring, and ultimately uplifting. 😢💪 Lena’s strength to walk away from abuse, rediscover her passions, and start over shows the true meaning of resilience. The part where she found herself crying while reading The Awakening hit me deeply. Sometimes life pushes us to rediscover who we really are. Lena, you’re not just surviving-you’re thriving. Wishing you nothing but happiness and success in your new chapter. 💕📖
Painful memories came flooding back - 30 years later I’m still uncovering my denial of his abuse. Verbal abuse doesn’t show like a bruise but it’s extremely damaging.
I understand how you feel. Every now and again I will remember knowing that he was pacing the floor with a butcher knife. Well he claimed years after our divorce he confessed that indeed I was correct....the kids were home....thats what saved me...
Just came to the part where she called husband using her NEW phone !!! WHY did she do that ??? Should have used old phone so he couldn’t get new phone number !!! 🤷♀️
Claire is a nice character in this story but sadly, you won’t find them when you really need them as this story suggests. It’s usually much harder in real life. Too bad 😢
If you ever leave for good, don't forget to take all certificates from your graduations from school and your job with you. Might depend on the country you live in, but it's better to have it than you need it.
When leaving an abuser...leave "NO" trace behind that can be traced!! Wife needed to go to a women's shelter...dump your car for another one..change your looks too!! Flat .. disappear ..like in witness protection!!!
She gets a new phone and first thing she does is text her husband who she’s trying together away from HOW STUPID IS THAT the new phone number would show up on his phone “Dah”
Because narcissistic people put responsibilities on others rather than taking it upon themselves. It is part of control and manipulation entwined in their personalities.
Either his card was already maxed...or he didn't want to deny himself by letting sis run it up ...and also wife's part time job(that he "allowed" he to have)..was just another asset he felt belonged to him...and she wasn't to cross him,..ever!!
I don’t know which is worse, the overwrought AI voice or the soap opera text. And now that it has finished, I must call out the non ending. Whole thing is a giant nothing burger.
It's considered fraud to use somebody else's credit card. The card is in the wife's name, not the sister-in-law's. After being assaulted with hot coffee Lena should have called the police and called a lawyer.
Its hard to leave an abusive relationship, the longer you stay the harder it becomes and you do lose yourself . Nothing seems possible his gaslighting the walking on eggshells and the financial abuse if you ask for money to buy anything he says whats in it for him etc . When you have children with a narcissist life gets worse you worry about them and how you going to support them and work . Now i am free but it took 40 plus years and hes still trying to control me with disrespect and our children by manipulation. I respect any man or women who leaves due to abuse because it can happen to anyone.
These little stories have continuity issues. Lena goes to consult with Sarah Thatcher, Attorney at Law, but ends up being championed by a Mr. Thatcher, who claims to be her attorney.
I would also add: to friendship which helped you in your moment of need when you had no place to stay at and was driving aimlessly. To Claire for helping you get the bookstore job, a lawyer, and the freedom from an abusive husband.
Abusers reprogram a wife. The programming makes it difficult to leave. Struggling with a new path is normal. I would suggest a visit to the doctor, urgent care or hospital to document the bruise and burns after packing. Then onto file for a temporary protective order and get a hotel room or see if I could find a abused persons shelter.
How does she have a credit card if she doesn't have a job? It seems like she must have money for him to insist she gives his sister her card. But then she says to herself, what will I do for a job? Plus the small stash of money she's been saving in case she ever had to leave.
I know what she went through because I was in her shoes, this story was written to help other women , thank you so very much for sharing this story with us women who had husbands like your story. Can’t wait for your stories love listening to your stories ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Sounds like her husband is feeling emasculated by his wife. Obviously, his wife makes more than him, or else he would be funding the extravagant shopping trips of ~HIS~ sister. This is a well-told story!
The story said she was a part-time librarian, a job her husband deemed appropriate (so maybe not more?). We also don’t know the country, if it was an Asian country, the ‘old time family values’ might apply.
Luckily, there's no kids🙏. Lena, the world is your lobster👍 Go 4 it. My wife's name is Lyna basicly the same name but spelt the Khmer way as we live in Cambodia near the Angkor Wat temples.
This is just another stack of nonsense. It is an attempt at writing by an amateur writer, It is poorly written , I don't have anything against the writer, but she/he should try another career.
Interesting, nice story. But why do you call her layna when you have on the screen lena, or are you saying? Laila, please get someone who can speak proper. English, thank you, but once again, a nice story. So far
Sad story but I don’t understand why Lena had a credit card and Eric didn’t. I might have missed something. Did Alena have an inheritance where she had money? Doesn’t matter since Eric was abusive. That isn’t acceptable behavior in any case.
what lousy writing! Why does Claire want to check Lena out of a hotel when Lena never went to a hotel? If this were submitted to me, I'd give it a C minus.
This doesn't really have an ending that ties up all the loose ends. Why did Mr. Thatcher and not Sarah Thatcher be at Claire's house. Did they think that a man would be a better deterrent, and safer, for Lena? How did the divorce end up - who got the assets? Too many unansered questions with the credit card situation also. Is the credit card hers and does she have to pay it back or is it a card Eric lets her use and he pays it bacK? Lena should have left the nasty Eric years before, when he started cutting her off from her friends and her dreams.
This story has been posted probably a dozen times by different users with only the names being changed. AI doesn't seem to be very creative yet when it comes to these
That coffee should of been where she phoned the cops and filed abuse charges against brother and sister , financial abuse is real
The issue is not financial, it is physical and psychological
Staying happily single is a great alternative! 😊
And YES👍Eric's love for his sister is beyond normal. If I had been Lena I would have looked a bit deeper into that.
It's the British accent, we don't care how clueless she appears, it's the accent that we are listening to.😅
She is kind of clueless. Her friend buys her a phone for safety away from her abusive husband and the first thing she does with it is text him so now he has her number and an easy way to find and harass her.

It is just a story don't get too serious !
Stand your ground!
@@lelacalhoun8362 The good old days 😂😂😂👍
I've been in an abusive relationship. They're notoriously hard to leave.

Starting over at 66, almost 30 years of marriage. All is good now. It was humbling to realize how much I was gas-lighted.
Good for you. You still have a lot of life left. You can now enjoy it.
For those who do not understand gas-lighted, watch the movie - 1944 - it will give you chills
Why doesn't the brother give his sister his credit card? Its not the wife's responsibility
Because it's not a real story
Probably because his cards were already maxed out!!
Lena’s journey is a true testament to strength and resilience. Walking away from a toxic relationship and finding yourself again is no small feat. What an inspiring story
Lena is courageous and brave to stand in her own 2 feet!
This sounds like a chapter from an audiobook I would listen to in the kitchen while cooking
This is very good, abusers, predators are masters of manipulation and break partners down over years.
She should have went to the ER for the burn filed a police report
Makes the divorce easier for your attorney to present!!
Asking your spouse to continue giving in to your enabling behavior is what is “unfair “.
More like demanding. and throwing a mug of coffee at your spouse would hopefully be considered physical abuse. 🤬
This story is everything-painful, inspiring, and ultimately uplifting. 😢💪 Lena’s strength to walk away from abuse, rediscover her passions, and start over shows the true meaning of resilience. Why has he not been charged with assault? He attacked her. That's why these stories are bull. I thought she was burnt by hot coffee also.
Eric is a coward. He abuses women but backs off from men.
Typical abuser!!
I would have call the police and file charges.
Hospital for record of injury. Also get a restraining order!
Yeah ,.do you will be protected
I agree.
Very short story though
Are all y’all related to my ex wife? 😳
Painful memories came flooding back - 30 years later I’m still uncovering my denial of his abuse. Verbal abuse doesn’t show like a bruise but it’s extremely damaging.

It will always be with you in diminishing years. I have been away from the mess and it comes back to me occasionally. I 68.
Very nice story, pronoun got me confused. Attorney Sarah Tatcher became Mr Tatcher 😊
They could be a married couple or siblings.
It's because this story has been rewritten many times, with names and sometimes genders changed. It's just AI garbage
❤ what a wonderful story. I cried myself towards the end. It brought back some long ago memories. 🌹
Get the heck out of that house! Your not safe with your spouse turn him into the police
Just pack and run, don't get all dreamy, the sister is coming.
Exactly what I did Sue👍.
Maybe she had funds before the marriage that this story cut out of the final production.😊
Good story...took courage to walk out of a toxic marriage..she had a good friend who helped her..awesome ending..thank you 🎉
This is totally absurd . If he is the bread winner, why would he let his wife use her credit card to finance his sister’s capriciousness.
She had a job at the library
She had a part time job at the library.
So that he could bitch and moan about the balance on that card and so that she will have to pay it herself.
Ok why didn’t she take pictures of her face?
The lawyer went from Sarah Thatcher to Mr Thatcher..... 😂😂😂
Just came to the part where she called husband using her NEW phone !!! WHY did she do that ??? Should have used old phone so he couldn’t get new phone number !!! 🤷♀️
I think she said it was a burner phone; untraceable.
Eric needs to be charged with domestic abuse. 😠 😠 😠
So why did he not give his sister his credit card? That is what I would have said to him
Might be a different country, like some households she was a housewife with a part-time job as a librarian. Her CC might have been his. 😊
Claire is a nice character in this story but sadly, you won’t find them when you really need them as this story suggests. It’s usually much harder in real life. Too bad 😢

Where is his credit card!!!!!
She gets a new phone and first thing she does is text her husband who she’s trying together away from HOW STUPID IS THAT the new phone number would show up on his phone “Dah”
It was a prepaid phone, so he couldn’t find out where the call was made from.
Mistake: calling Eric on new phone.
Do you understand how a burner phone works??
WHY when it's an untraceable phone??? WHY even if she used her old phone and switched it OFF permanently???
How come Eric didn't give his sister his credit card?
Because narcissistic people put responsibilities on others rather than taking it upon themselves. It is part of control and manipulation entwined in their personalities.

She should have gone to the hospital and call the police. He care for his sister more then you.
These stories are so ludicrous, they don’t expect people to believe that,do they?
Go volunteer at a women shelter
Watch the Movie “Burning Bed”!
Sorry for destroying your illusions, but I have seen stuff like this with my own eyes 😢
Unless you have lived with a man like that, you wouldn’t know. I did and got away and took my two children with me.
These little stories have continuity issues. Lena goes to consult with Sarah Thatcher, Attorney at Law, but ends up being championed by a Mr. Thatcher, who claims to be her attorney.
is anyone else getting more adds than content of the stories
Yes, the greed by TH-cam is getting out of control
Who is Mr Thatcher? Sarah is her attorney?
Ms. Thatcher, attorney is probably husband, brother, cousin, uncle to Sarah Thatcher, her attorney.
Usually you do need two attorneys. You have lawyers who help you navigate away from a life then you will have a hard nose divorce attorney.
How did Sarah Thatcher, lenas attorny become Mr. Thatcher?
Could be her "husband" and she are law partners?! Otherwise it's a badly proof read AI script!!
Oh god, almost 1 hour . it's novel?
I would also add: to friendship which helped you in your moment of need when you had no place to stay at and was driving aimlessly. To Claire for helping you get the bookstore job, a lawyer, and the freedom from an abusive husband.
Yada, yada, yada, just get to the moving out and Eric being pissed. We know your strong, memories, final straw, needed to leave. Duh.
Abusers reprogram a wife. The programming makes it difficult to leave. Struggling with a new path is normal. She worked as a librarian, part time. Perhaps she is thinking of a full time self supporting job.
I had to laugh at this story as it's very, very similar to my experience in 2011 but I had a 7.8 meter camper.
I know what she went through because I was in her shoes, this story was written to help other women , thank you so very much for sharing this story with us women who had husbands like your story. Can’t wait for your stories love listening to your stories ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Why didn't Eric give his credit card????
What an awful voice narrative
I’m not responsible for anyone but me.
Nice one Lena way to go girl👍🙏💙💙💙💙💙💙
Why the music background? Its annpying
You called Eric with your new phone. Why would you do that?? Now he has your new phone number!!
Excellent story❤
This behavior is completely unacceptable; you should prioritize your safety above all else.
Too much rambling
These stories are indeed best watched while doing something else, LOL!
Where did Mr Thatcher come from?
It’s Mr Thatcher, probably attorney Sarah’s husband, cousin, uncle, father also an attorney in the same firm.
He drove up while they were talking and they didn’t notice. Or… the writer decided the plot needed a supporting character. 🤣
Oh Goodness the name Thatcher brings back horrific memories 😅😅😅
Why all the adverts - Some are soo long too
I take these a pretend to someone's reality. Fun to listen to but I change it when it's a little bit to much. That's what an adult would do 😜
Does the narrator ever stop talking on and on?
It’s a story. I have no reason to criticize. It may have been one or two read overs.
Eric could have given Marie his credit card.
Probably a control thing since his wife doesn’t like it. And if wife has debt that requires his income to pay off his control is stronger.
Sounds like her husband is feeling emasculated by his wife. Obviously, his wife makes more than him, or else he would be funding the extravagant shopping trips of ~HIS~ sister.
This is a well-told story!

Her actions show a complete lack of respect for her partner
Jack was Shire don't you mean Jack was shy?
This is just another stack of nonsense. It is an attempt at writing by an amateur writer, It is poorly written , I don't have anything against the writer, but she/he should try another career.
Harlequin Romance, anybody?
Why is the strange lady front and center in the video?
To make it applicable to western audiences? We have no clue what country this story is from.
Not a satisfying ending. No follow-through!
Interesting, nice story. But why do you call her layna when you have on the screen lena, or are you saying? Laila, please get someone who can speak proper. English, thank you, but once again, a nice story. So far
It is proper English. It is British English.
All these comments about what she should have as if this was real. It’s a STORY!
I wouldn't be reminiscing, I'd be packing and getting out if that house, before he came back or his sister..sorry story a bit boring,to dragged out.
Why do you say dash that's a punctuation hyphen that's all you don't need to read it as dash that's just stupid
YES STUPID STUPID STUPID EVERYTHING IS STUPID FGS HAVE A BREAK HAVE A KIT KAT OR A BOILING HOT CUP OF TEA.
Far too descriptive. Just tell the story for heaven sake.
I all ready said that before
AI reading. Is her lawyer Megan or a Mr Thatcher?
Good story
Give the credit?? Excuse me...tge nerve 😂😂😂 tgen youre an idiot if uou give in to his demands
Wasn’t the attorney originally Ms. Thatcher? Where did Mr. Thatcher come from?
Okay, stop repeating things. You can only have one first call with Claire
Is this fiction or non-fiction?
How could you find an apartment apart from Eric
It takes forever to get to the moving out and empty house..
This doesn't really have an ending that ties up all the loose ends. Why did Mr. Thatcher and not Sarah Thatcher be at Claire's house. Same time he would have gotten coffee back on him
This story has been posted probably a dozen times by different users with only the names being changed. AI doesn't seem to be very creative yet when it comes to these
BULLSHIT! I WON'T GIVE MY CREDIT CARD TO ANYONE!!
She gets a new phone to hide from her husband and the first thing she does is text him
What does dash mean sounds pretty stupid.
Didnt she have a mug of coffee too???????
