Contrary to the game, everyone's here, so we get to hear every single cry of bravery uttered by the hopes of mankind. Lavos is finally forced to acknowledge them, although less as individuals and moreso as some physical embodiment of those darned humans who won't let themselves die and keep fighting these worthless battles. Their entire world revolves around Lavos at this point, so Lavos should be the final arbiter of their fates. Lavos is also forced to sing at a fast pace, making what once was an inevitable force of doom now a tangible, fightable force of doom. Crono's buddies, meanwhile, are playing into Lavos' perception of them somewhat; Lavos sees them as humanity's death throes, but mankind has shown to live through their own supposed death throes before, and so will our heroes. They also proclaim to keep on fighting so long as the world keeps spinning; Lavos is the "center of the world" at this moment, so it can be inferred that they'll keep on fighting until Lavos dies. I never understood the whole "it harvested the dna of every being that ever walked the earth" and why this form has those pipes and that face that resemble almost a breathing machine. And no legs. While watching this my mind hit me with a metaphorical truck. It was building itself a body
It always felt like both forms were just layers of a security system. The outer shell was the organic space craft it travelled in, the second form was it's last ditch security measure.
@@sunshinegamer1981 I always saw the third phase to act as lavos's immunitary system, forced to use every drop of its tremendous magic powers to protect the core that could have been able to, in some time, rebuild Lavos itself. By the way I love how many interpretations this eldritch boi has
@@gianlu5077 Ya know, I never thought of it like that! That would make sense. Oh Akira Toriyama and your repeating concepts/designs. I too enjoy the time-travel monster that incorporates other creatures genomes with roughly that design.
To be fair, Lavos' outer shell design is ridiculously striking and I don't think it quite matches anything else the man's done, at least not anything widely recognizable. There's a reason why it's what most people think about when they think of Lavos, after all. But yes, it's definitely a different feeling when you go inside and realize "wait, I've seen THIS before..."
@@gabrielrussell5531 Almost certainly Chrono Trigger would be the rehash if it was truly self-inspired. CT came out in 1995, the Cell Saga was in 1992 (both Manga and Anime). That said, while there are obvious parallels, I think it's safe to say there's more than enough originality to Lavos to not just be "Oh it's just Cell" - I didn't even catch those parallels until this video's comment section.
I know it's typical jrpg stuff, but it feels a bit weird that Lavos is not _actually_ a giant tick monster and that was just a shell. That said, can definitely see the Toriyama in this form's design. Feels very Cell
I love how it sounds like Lavos is just done with them and basically says "I'm done playing around" meanwhile crono and the gang are not holding back and are going to end lavos
I did always find it funny in RPG's how the battles are done with only three of your characters usually which means you're fighting this apocalyptic battle for the fate of space and time or the world and you got just like Maybe 3 or 4 people just sitting in the background doing nothing just watching if the side loses I guess they'll just kind of shrug and go home
Absolutely! Terrifying, creepy, and nail biting all in one! And when contrasted with the hero lyrics and all of it bound together in that intense thrumming rhythm of music! It leaves me speechless! 😶 with awe!
I love the detail of Lavos being the one attacking during his lines, meanwhile as the heroes sing theyre the ones attacking. Such a tiny thing but it adds so much power to the song.
"Sing out that we are still alive!" Shouted at the end of the fight, where Chrono, the one who fought, died, and returned to life all in the same breath, in an attempt to save his friends FROM Lavos... levitates into the air, casting his most powerful, overwhelming spell against the parasite's core. A remarkably breathtaking decision.
And one more thing to keep to the theme of all of time rebelling against Lavos... The gameplay showcase of so many Triple Techs, even the ones that don't use Crono. Freaking awesome job, here.
I was always wondering why Uprising, Cyber, and Alex were all listed as the voice of Lavos. I kept thinking they each voiced in different songs, but now I realized that all three are stacked on top of each other giving Lavos that more distorted demonic feeling. I fully salute you Alex and everyone on the Man on the Internet team, I salute you.
World Revolution is just one of the greatest OST i have ever heard, as a child i would always stop the game just to listen to it while i did my homework.
Oh this would have been absolutely amazing and epic if this could have been done in the game. A pity that technological limitations prevented it. I am now hungry for a remaster of Chrono trigger for the modern day. As always thank you very much and keep up the incredible work everyone!
I agree. It would be really cool if what Magus said in the last one about time making an exception for a situation as drastic as this would actually come to fruition. And then for this one final battle, it would have a system similar to something like Cyber Sleuth where you’d be able to swap between your party members (at the cost of the turn or something like that) so you’d be able to pull off several different double and triple techs. That would make this already epic fight even more so!
This was AMAZING!! Loved how you incorporated not only every character, but the name of the song perfectly in the chorus (which was totally in theme with Chrono Trigger). Total worth the wait. Can’t wait for next week! Totally adding this to my playlist of favorite songs to listen to on loop for hours. Brings the total up to 5!
Favorite song from Chrono Trigger, and you guys definitely did it justice! I really like how you handled the trumpet riffs at 0:52 and 1:14, starting with Lavos's declaration of how their fighting is hopeless, and being reprised with the heroes fighting back!
This is the one I've been waiting for, and holy hell you guys did absolutely fantastic. I honestly can't even really put it into words, but the lyrics manage to perfectly capture that feeling of defiance and the determination to keep on living that I felt when I first heard this song in the battle when I played the game for the first time last year. Utterly fantastic.
Wow. Just. Wow. I found myself singing the Lavos chants without realising. This is just... exactly what I’d expect for the end of the journey of all times!
Technically, Schala was trapped inside Lavos until Chrono Cross, so....yeah. Unless you consider Cross non-canon, in which case, she dies when Lavos does.
This legitimately makes me want to make an RPG where there is a legitimate final boss, with a regular team... And then a cinematic final boss with all your team. Choose between any Combo tech you want. Use team healing to stay up. Legitimately seems really fun
I wonder who Lavos refers to when he says “we.” He says “this planet has always been mine” so I wonder if he’s referring to others in his species or his offspring when he says “we.” Or maybe he’s referring to his core which is made of three parts, kind of like the Holy Trinity where although he has 3 separate parts, they refer to themselves as the same being. Food for thought.
I believe it's implied that Lavos is a collective consciousness. Queen Zeal mentions becoming one with Lavos are a few points and theres a secret boss that straight up says that they're a part of Lavos
Ya know, If they ever do a remake like some folks want, maybe they could have it so you have the option to have all the party members present in the final battle. The main reason it wasn't done in the original version was due to hardware limitations, something that wouldn't be a problem if remade for modern systems. Plus, it is canonically possible for it to be done, as long as they don't all enter the same rift at the same time.
I'VE HAD THE ENTIRE MUSICAL'S PLAYLIST ON SHUFFLE FOR A FEW HOURS AND I GET TO LISTEN TO THIS AFTER IT ENDS? Completely unintentional epic build up for the win! >:]
The deeper in you get once Lavos rises, the clearer it's voices become. It's almost like there was interference and static up to this point, and the next step will have perfect clarity. Impressive work!
This here, this here is amazing. This is one of those few songs that I would love to see a 1 hour version when it comes to the Crono Trigger musical songs. The vocals for Lavos, oh man they are amazing, absolute monstrous intensity. I love it, and I literally cant get enough of things like it.
Dear Lord this was everything I was hoping it to be and more. The art, the lyrics, the mix, the chorus, freaking EVERYTHING WAS PERFECT I cannot wait for Final Battle and the very ending, whichever one it is that you follow (seems to be Beyond Time at the moment). This was more than worth the wait
Well now, that was absolutely stunning! I really do love how you played off of something the game didn’t do; having every party member fight lavos at the same time, and how symbolic that chrono, the man killed by lavos, got the last hit in. Anyways, this doesn’t leave us with much, all we have left is: Fight against the true core And the ending. I don’t understand how we still have three songs left when the only important stuff can be summed up to just two
@@DarthLocutus0 This. It would definitely be better to have farewells be their own touching number instead crammed into the grand finale. Plus there's whatever epilogue they want to do.
I could see them having the goodbyes at the end of the parade, and doing To Far-Away Times and the ending movies as the last video. But there's simply too few videos left to split the goodbyes into its own scene.
Ah, the song I've waited for since I first heard MOTI was doing a musical of Chrono Trigger. The penultimate battle against the world's ultimate evil against seven humans from various points in time. And boy, it doesn't disappoint! Everyone, it's time to come together for the final battle and final protagonist group harmonic singing!
Thank you so much!!! This is my favourite song in the entire soundtrack, I loved to come up with lyrics as I fought, singing out loud, but I never came up with lyrics this good
Oh umm, during the Triple-Tech showcase, I admittedly got flashbacks to AGDQ 2019 seeing Omega Flare being used. The hype here is on par with those unforgettable moments. "Thank you" is a woefully insufficient method of expressing the gratitude I have, and you all deserve.
this.IS.EPIC!!!!!!!! World revolution! at end, what is next is the final battle for time and history! anhd every single person on the time is ready to end this monster completly.
I've lost count at how many times I've listened to this... both choruses (Lavos and Heroes) are just perfect! And I'm looking forward to the end of this production!
Oh man, you guys nailed it with this one. The harmonies from the entire party singing the chorus gave me goosebumps. And is it just me, or does Lavos sound angrier now than before since someone is actually putting up a fight against him now? Was that a deliberate piece of voice direction? And did I catch a bit of Schala's voice intertwined with the other, distorted voices used for Lavos?
I have been waiting for a full main cast song from the begging of this thing and you didn't disappoint!!! Holy shit this is by far my favorite song in the package so far. I'm gonna be singing the chorus for weeks~! This was amazing. Great Job!
So, three songs left. We know one's gonna be for Lavos's final form, and one will most definitely be the moonlit parade, but the other... Will we see the return of Dalton? Or more importantly, the return of him getting kicked in the groin?
During Lavos's first line, I can hear Alex's voice showing itself when Lavos says "withers". Give it a listen. It's still awesome work, but it got a smile out of me.~
WOW. Simply WOW. I wanted to write a long comment, but I simply can't. This is so perfect I have no idea what to say. I'm beyond amazed, I don't know any word that can describe the emotion I'm feeling right now. Congratulations to you all. You're giving this awesome game the gratest tribute ever.
If a remake ever happens I would love if they made it so you could have every party member in the final battle. Everyone at once to give you so much to take down Lavos. But I might think it would be locked behind completing the Black Omen. Make it so your rewarded going out of the way of beating Zeal and the challenges through it. And maybe having some Ultimate Tech to use here later in the fight if you have all 7 members here
I desperately want someone to make a rom hack or mod for Chrono trigger that makes it so you can actually get the full party into the final fight like what the musical describes. Like, it is the final battle, everyone has a reason to fight, and we know that there are scenes where there are more than 3 people in the same time period. It would be so cool, but would require basically completely reworking combat and how much health the lavos forms have for the last two fights
I love the song, however it feels like its missing something. I can't place my finger on it. But more props to Suraht for collecting the footage. I would never fight Lavos that many times with such different teams.
I only ever fought Lavos with Crono, Marle, and Frog. I attempted it with Magus once, which ended in disaster. Suraht is an absolute badass for doing the battle so many times with everyone.
I LOVED the song. But... the principal chorus only saying "Lavos!" Repeteadly in one of the most epic parts of the song feels boring. It is only... "Lavos! Lavos! Lavos! Lavos!"
@@AbedulTG To be fair, during that part of Lavos's theme, that's exactly what MotI put as the lyric, so it wouldn't make sense to change that bit since it's remixing it into World Revolution, giving the same doom and gloom tone that that part of Lavos's theme has had throughout the game and, by extension, the musical. Chrono Trigger's main theme is mixed in there a bit, too, as a way of showing Crono and company aren't taking Lavos's bullcrap anymore and are going to feed him his own liver (or other internal body part you want to mentally serve the space parasite) in retaliation for making future generations suffer.
If i had to venture a guess, it is that the party mainly sang in unison, with minimal harmony. Harmony would have been more unifying for the party in my opinion.
One more battle to go! *insert high pitched squeal of excitement here* And am I the only one noticing Imperfect Cell similarities with Lavos Core for the first time? Because I am...even though I've played the game before and gotten to this point several times... I guess I just noticed those two spots near the mouth were eyes before... I always thought the bit right below the dome was an eyeball, so the resemblance escaped me...until now. Kind of embarrassed by that...

I am kinda feeling a mental disconnect because they are singing at a tempo that feels faster than the music at the beginning, especially when Lavos sings

Actually that's something I did always find very interesting about Lavos is that It's this apocalyptic monster That has been feeding off of the planet for millions of years and has such incredible power but at the end of the day it's just an unintelligent animal That has been spending the vast majority of its life and only occasionally wakes up usually to kill something that's pissed it off or Resistance to its children
another thing I also find interesting is that in the future You can't find lavos early on in the game it's hinted that Death Mountain is its throne and that it lives there which I also always confused me made me wonder if the game creators originally intended for it to be fought there in the future It's where it's children are found
And once the black omen appears in the future its doors are closed which implies that the creature might have simply died after giving birth to its children Which makes me wonder if Queens zeal dies once that happens as well because her eternal wife is based on its life
The idea of where did it come from and how did a life form like this come into being it seems a bit too powerful in advance to just be some product of evolution I mean it's hard to comprehend the idea of evolution bringing any species to hurl itself into space looking for other planets
so I've always wondered if it's some sort of bio weapon that is either being used for nefarious purposes or a bio weapon that grew too powerful escaped and killed everyone on its own planet
And Just also the idea of its life cycle that presumably the Earth is just 1 planet of many that this species lands on rests for millions of years kills everything and then shoots its babies into space also always wondered how they get into space to begin with And that this creature Presumably had a parent that had done the same thing
Weirdly also for something so powerful and apocalyptic it's not seemingly very intelligent it never talks with the main characters in this game I think it does in the sequel but I've never played that But basically it's just an animal living out its species reproductive system It's not particularly malicious it's just doing what it Naturally does in order to propagate itch species And every species does the same the only difference is that that this is on a much grander apocalyptic scale fitting its grander more apocalyptic power
Living millions of years only to give birth To one group of children it kind of has to kill everything on the planet to ensure its children are not killed unless the race dies up
and how many of these things are in the universe Are they exclusive to the Milky Way galaxy just slowly propagating growing in numbers or is this just a huge swarm of them that are dominating the universe planets never being aware of the apocalypse going around them
and how is it even know about which planets have life to hit in order to grow which also always another thing that while separate from The creature always intrigued me that the reptiles seemingly have a relatively advanced society being about on par with the medieval ages which means that The prehistoric times had this species that was dominated on the planet for Thousands of years with a rich complex history that would be no less long than their history we have now we only have about 6000 years of history maybe 12,000 Max and they would have had probably about the same only for all of that to get wiped out and humanity the dominant species to forget about that and replace them with both species ironically being killed by the exact same thing despite being separated by millions of years
the future time is also interesting in this series of that idea of a dying world where humanity is on its last legs due to lack of food as well as mutant and robot forces with seemingly mother brain being hinted for being a big reason why there's very few humans left
And that idea does just fascinate me of After Lavos is done the world presumably will continue on for quite some time with new civilizations either being the mutants or the robots who will replace humanity and in theory there's a good chance that all of the events that killed organic life at least non mutant life may eventually be forgotten just like how humanity has no idea that they used to share the planet with advanced reptiles give it another 12,000 years and they might just not remember humanity at all and robots might have no comprehension of their own history and own creation no idea that lavos ever existed at all

The second form does feel a lot like Cell. And the third form almost reminds me of Frieza a bit. Except more disgusting.
Kind of underwhelmed, to be honest.
@@slateoffate9812 you would not say that if you played the game yourself
@@nolanhewitt2563 I'll take your word for it.
Lavos is a shell within a shell within another shell.
I love how it sounds like Lavos is just done with them and basically says "I'm done playing around" meanwhile crono and the gang are not holding back and are going to end lavos
Lavos: I should be fine. Just as long as they only come in a party of 3-
Everyone: Hi
Lavos: *NOOOOOOOOO*
Why did I read that with the same inflection and tone of Team Four Star's Mr. Popo and Krillin respectively? 😆
Lavos: First these three show up and then a freakin' time machine crashes into my face... And didn't I already kill this one?!
@@sunshinegamer1981Lavos: This world will be mine!
The party: Pecking order
I did always find it funny in RPG's how the battles are done with only three of your characters usually which means you're fighting this apocalyptic battle for the fate of space and time or the world and you got just like Maybe 3 or 4 people just sitting in the background doing nothing just watching if the side loses I guess they'll just kind of shrug and go home
I think this might be one of my favorite songs from this musical! Lavos's vocals are absolutely demonic here.
"Sing out that we are still alive!"
Shouted at the end of the fight, where Chrono, the one who fought, died, and returned to life all in the same breath, in an attempt to save his friends FROM Lavos... levitates into the air, casting his most powerful, overwhelming spell against the parasite's core.
UprisingAttorney is also the voice of Schala, which is important (and a great detail!) for the continuity.
Not over yet. Lavos: THIS ISN'T EVEN MY FINAL FORM!

World Revolution is just one of the greatest OST i have ever heard, as a child i would always stop the game just to listen to it while i did my homework.
"We will fight as long as our world keeps on turning!" Amazing line.
That would make this already epic fight even more so!
easy fix, just play this while fighting lavos
I think I would prefer an anime adaptation of Chrono Trigger
@@michaelnelson1127 yes! *YES!*
@@323starlight That would be awesome! I would love to see that.
Magus' voice is perfect for the lead into the chorus! Chills.
This is the song I was waiting for throughout this whole musical, and it does not disappoint! Well done!
"A tale of our own design" is probably the best part in the song due to how harmonious it sounds
start of song- 0:40
This is the one I've been waiting for, and holy hell you guys did absolutely fantastic. I honestly can't even really put it into words, but the lyrics manage to perfectly capture that feeling of defiance and the determination to keep on living that I felt when I first heard this song in the battle when I played the game for the first time last year. Utterly fantastic.
Wow. Just. Wow. I found myself singing the Lavos chants without realising. This is just... exactly what I’d expect for the end of the journey of all times!
I also love the female voice behind lavos implying that Schala is still trapped in this thing. What an amazing touch.
Technically, Schala was trapped inside Lavos until Chrono Cross, so....yeah. Unless you consider Cross non-canon, in which case, she dies when Lavos does.
The fact that the female voice is LITERALLY Schala's VA can not have been an accident.
Okay, just asking, I can't be the only one who wants a 1 hour version of this, right?
We NEED a 1 hour version
@@ThatGuy-a48 I agree, think at least all the Lavos songs should get a 1 hour version.
10 hours
@@Bluerockpie 100% agree
I think he’s referring to him and his offspring, like the ones shown in the first phase of the fight.
Additionally, since Lavos is but a very, very, very intelligent civilization-busting parasite, It's extremely likely there are more of them out there.
I notice Lavos says "your lives," like it's directly addressing the party and acknowledging them as a threat for the first time.
I believe it's implied that Lavos is a collective consciousness. Queen Zeal mentions becoming one with Lavos are a few points and theres a secret boss that straight up says that they're a part of Lavos
@@silentredgaming1661 secret boss? Is this in the remake? I don't remember a secret boss.
Gargling Lavos almost broke into a rap battle. Nice touch with the bonus triple techs.
My body is definitely ready for this one. Been a long time coming but the final battle is finally here
Dear Lord this was everything I was hoping it to be and more. The art, the lyrics, the mix, the chorus, freaking EVERYTHING WAS PERFECT
I cannot wait for Final Battle and the very ending, whichever one it is that you follow (seems to be Beyond Time at the moment). This was more than worth the wait
That first line of lavos "even now the burning sky above are falling", damn.
Nice way to remind how f'ed up is the situation you are trying to prevent
This is the song I've been waiting for for almost 3 years now, and the cast totally knocked it out of the park! Awesome work!
I feel like Lavos is taking the party more seriously now, everything is faster
Well now, that was absolutely stunning!
I really do love how you played off of something the game didn’t do; having every party member fight lavos at the same time, and how symbolic that chrono, the man killed by lavos, got the last hit in.
Anyways, this doesn’t leave us with much, all we have left is:
Fight against the true core
And the ending.
I don’t understand how we still have three songs left when the only important stuff can be summed up to just two
Well, I imagine there's a fair bit to the ending, and of course like UtM, I expect a credits song
My guess is:
Final Battle (the true Lavos Core)
Moonlight Parade
Final Goodbyes/To Far-Away Times
@@DarthLocutus0
This.
My favorite song in the game, everyone involved did amazing!

When I was a kid I didn't realize his mouth guard was a Cell styled beak plate.
I just thought he had a lil smile and huge lips.
Oh what DELIVERY!! Worth the ENTIRE wait! Congratulations to everybody involved! Now bring us home!!!
This is my favorite song yet from Chrono Trigger: The Musical, and I cannot articulate how much of a compliment that is. Fantastic work everyone!
this.IS.EPIC!!!!!!!!
World revolution! at end, what is next is the final battle for time and history!

I've lost count at how many times I've listened to this... both choruses (Lavos and Heroes) are just perfect! And I'm looking forward to the end of this production!
I know. This is absolutely addicting.
I've been waiting for this and you did not disappoint!! Great job everyone and awesome editing to include everyone in the battle!
I really want to enjoy a Chrono Cross musical after all these masterpieces are finished. Congratulations!
I think the last song will be the credits, similarly to how back in the undertale musical the last song was the credits.
This song came out shortly before that doomsday volcano in the Canary Islands erupted and ever since, I associate it with that volcano.
Man, I knew this song would absolutely kick ass, but never thought it’d be THIS AWESOME
this is by far my favorite song from the original game, so glad it was done so well! Great work to everyone working on this absolutely huge project!
Can't wait to see the Core theme...the best boss theme ever!

What can I even say about this? I've been waiting for this song for years and it did not disappoint. The lyrics, the art, the singing. It's perfect.
Oh, it's not over yet. One last track to this fight. All I'm gonna say about that, 'cause NO SPOILERS.
i have been waiting this moment since the first video of chrono trigger
During Lavos's first line, I can hear Alex's voice showing itself when Lavos says "withers". Give it a listen. It's still awesome work, but it got a smile out of me.~
WOW. Simply WOW. I wanted to write a long comment, but I simply can't. This is so perfect I have no idea what to say. I'm beyond amazed, I don't know any word that can describe the emotion I'm feeling right now. Congratulations to you all. You're giving this awesome game the gratest tribute ever.
Wow! This team has done an amazing job! Now, just like the moment it's left on.....
It's time to finish the job and defeat Lavos!!
Caralhooooo que coisa linda!!!!! 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭 Parabéns a todos os envolvidos!
Man on the internet you did a good job of making this song.
If a remake ever happens I would love if they made it so you could have every party member in the final battle. Everyone at once to give you so much to take down Lavos. But I might think it would be locked behind completing the Black Omen. Make it so your rewarded going out of the way of beating Zeal and the challenges through it. And maybe having some Ultimate Tech to use here later in the fight if you have all 7 members here
Amazing. Enough said. Worth the wait like I knew it would be.
Thank you. That is all.
I remember how impactful this song and this fight were to me
I love the song, however it feels like its missing something. I can't place my finger on it. But more props to Suraht for collecting the footage. I would never fight Lavos that many times with such different teams.
Also, who ready for the finale!

Once again you guys knocked it outta the park! Can't believe how close we are to finishing this!
