This cabinet is Sooooo much better than the over-priced Michaels one! I love the way you put the themes together and can’t wait to try something similar!

I love what you made, I think it's way better than the Michael's display cabinet. I also think the newest (and final) distress ink 'Scorched Timber' would have been the perfect singular colour to use instead of vintage photo & black soot (but of course, it wasn't available when you created your display of curiosities!). Anyway, bravo! This was a very inspiring video.

Thank you!!! Yes!! I need that recently released Scorched Timber! I’ve been eyeing it since it released! The obsession with Distress Inks is real! 😂

The one that was made by you was so much better than the store one. Very nice job and it really pays to store items until one day you find a use for them.

I love that you made the cabinet, and that all the cool stuff from your stash was used to fill the boxes! I have a miniature "cabinet" made from a partitioned tray of wooden shapes, that I got from Dollarama, and I'm going to use that. I have some skull-shaped beads, and some old mini skeletons, and some charms shaped like mermaids and starfish, that I want to use. Your video has encouraged me to do what you did, and co-ordinate the stuff that I want to put into each tiny box/partition! Thanks for sharing this wonderful video! Cheers! ~Janet in Canada 🧙‍♀💖💖

That is gorgeous, thanks for sharing your process. (P.S. I especially like how you used tissue paper and paints to create the surface effects on the wood boxes, very effective.)

What is wool of bat? Wool of bat is holly. Eye of newt is mustard seed. It is a reference to the witches scene in Shakespeare's MacBeth.
Fillet of a fenny snake, In the cauldron boil and bake; Eye of newt and toe of frog, Wool of bat and tongue of dog, Adder’s fork and blind-worm’s sting, Lizard’s leg and owlet’s wing, For a charm of powerful trouble, Like a hell-broth boil and bubble.”

Great work with this! It came out really nice. Some people have a better “scrapbooking” eye than others and learning to work in layers is hard for a lot of newcomers to crafting. This concept of layering and aesthetic placements is a big debate in the general graphic design community, but at the end of the day if you’re making something for yourself, make what you like. You might not like it at first, or you might need to step away for a few hours or days and come back to it, but creating things will usually leave you very satisfied, so don’t give up! Each time you make something will be better than the last (even if it’s just to learn a lesson from a failure).

That is really cool! I have quite a few real (animal) skulls I keep in drawers, this would be an awesome project for some Victorian themed curiosity cabinet!
