I am so upset Tom Ellis didn't get more recognition for creating another character, and doing it so well we hate him as much as we love Lucifer. It's the same guy but he plays each character so well they feel distinctly separate. I kinda forget it's him when it's Michael. That's an incredible talent!!!!!! He deserves all the rewards for this season.
so true and it makes me wonder how Tom's real twin would be like well if he had a guy twin. He has a twin sister and I still get a kick outta the fact that she's called Lucy
I don't know. I have mixed feelings about Michael; and at least some of it comes down to the writing. Tom does a great job for sure, but I feel like Michael could have had maybe been a little more nuance; had more depth and charm... or something. Obviously there has to be some defining characteristics to differentiate Michael from Lucifer, but Michael kind of comes off like the stereotype of a sleazy used car salesman; and once he gives up his ruse of pretending to be Lucifer, even starts to dress like one. Maybe they were going for the idea of him being so unassuming, people don't give him enough credit to suspect him of anything, but he just gives off this weasel vibe, especially with the more whinny voice, and his established powers are fear based, it's kind of a wonder anyone remotely trusts. It's arguably to Tom's credit that he makes the two comparatively distinct - but Michael's voice is a little too cartoonish for me; and it's hard not to compare that effort to say, Tatiana Maslany, who could do so much with the subtle change of her voice and mannerisms; Tom went more overt, which is neither good or bad. But for that, and all of the reasons above, I feel like Michael might have been more effective if he were a little closer to being a reflection of Lucifer; someone who could be at least as disarming and charming as Lucifer, making him a greater threat _because_ he can't be trusted and people don't see it as readily; while juxtaposing that with Lucifer - the so-called prince of lies, who in fact takes pride in never lying - and just how big of deal it is that he could be taking greater advantage of his talents, but unlike Michael he doesn't.
Yes, but it made me wondering why he was able to assemble the flaming sword? It wasn't explained in this season. But I was thinking and it kind of makes sense that Michael is his twin, so maybe some abilities are the same
The thing that bothers me about this episode is that Trixi would actually be complete and you didn't waste any thought on it again. The fact that she did not do so had nothing to do with the fact that the plan was not even particularly good, but rather exclusively with luck. Lucky that lucifer decided to travel to heaven and risk his life, luck that he wore the ring, luck that Michael did not kill her again. Everything depended on luck. Furthermore, I did not like that Ella is the only one who still does not know. The one who struggles most with the topic of faith and who belongs to the circle of friends. She is not told anything.
It wasn’t luck, I realized this was all if not most of it was purposeful. When god left he said he planned this, I believe what he meant is that he planned for Lucifer to go back to heaven, so that he can become god. He put things in place for that to happen. A few things led me to this, for one the fact that they somehow stole the blade from his moms realm(I feel like it wouldn’t have been that easy) and the fact that they made sure to remind the audience that Lucifer was banned from heaven and they never explained how an angel would turn into god(that made me think what if you have to be in heaven to inherit the powers)

He isn’t even recognized enough for his role as Lucifer

Micheal isn’t the lightbringer, Lucifer is

You hating him is a sign that the writing was well done coupled with Toms acting your supposed to hate him
Her playlist is still F up, this episode is not in the list, they are not in order etc
I love how they took a character like micheal the biblical head of the arch angels the leader of gods forces and made him so dislikable
